Carrie Underwood In Ralph & Russo Couture – 2013 CMA Awards

Carrie Underwood In Ralph & Russo Couture - 2013 CMA Awards

I was stunned when I saw Carrie Underwood on the red carpet for the 47th annual CMA Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday evening.

Firstly because the pageant hair has finally given way to a sleeker ‘do.

Also because she wore a breathtaking Ralph & Russo Couture dusky-pink long-sleeved sheer gown enriched with delicate rose-gold floral-and-crystal embellishments.

Having seen this beauty in the designer’s atelier, it’s a delight to see it not only brought to life, but worn so beautifully.

Carrie styled the look with Jimmy Choo metallic-rose-gold accessories including their ‘Fayme’ sandals and ‘Cloud’ clutch.

Yesterday it was announced that Ralph & Russo will present their first runway show during Couture fashion week in January. This was a great way to mark that announcement.

Carrie Underwood In Randi Rahm – T.J. Martell Foundation’s 2013 Honors Gala

Carrie Underwood In Randi Rahm - Martell Foundation’s 2013 Honors Gala

Carrie Underwood attended the T.J. Martell Foundation’s 2013 Honors Gala, which supports research into AIDS, cancer and leukaemia, held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City yesterday evening.

The country singer was honoured with the ‘Artist Achievement’ Award, which she collected wearing a Randi Rahm periwinkle tone-on-tone beaded tulle dress with a V-back.

There is no question that this is very much a ‘Carrie’ dress, as it is uber girlie and has plenty of embellishments.

Soft-pink Giuseppe Zanotti pointy-toe pumps, a nude clutch with a cluster of silver star embellishments, and Johnathon Arndt jewels accessorized the look.

A sweeping updo, smoky eyes and glossy lips provided the finishing touches.

In terms of embellishments; the clutch was a step too far.

Carrie Underwood In Romona Keveza – 2013 Emmy Awards

Carrie Underwood In Romona Keveza - 2013 Emmy Awards

Carrie Underwood will be performing at the 2013 Emmy Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Sunday evening.

She took to the red carpet wearing a Romona Keveza Fall 2013 strapless amethyst silk shantung taffeta gown featuring a sculpted bodice and ballgown skirt that she accented with a black waistband.

I’m not surprised to see the singer wearing one of the biggest gowns of the night, but I am surprised at how much I love it, as I often find her looks to be a tad cheesy.

Carrie styled her look with diamond jewels and side-swept tresses without a hint of pageant queen.

Like Blake Lively and Kate Bosworth, I noticed that Carrie is rocking a darker blonde hue. Is this a fall trend?

Carrie Underwood In Oscar de la Renta – Good Morning America

Carrie Underwood In Oscar de la Renta - Good Morning America

Carrie Underwood took up co-hosting duties on Good Morning America on Monday morning.

Her co-hosting duties at the CMAs and her journalism major stood her in good stead as she handled her role impeccably, covering reports on fashion and music, however, during the name-that-song challenge against GMA hosts Lara Spencer and George Stephanopoulos, Carrie paused for a good three or four seconds before finally realizing the song playing was her own 2006 smash, “Before He Cheats.”

The singer wore a pretty Oscar de la Renta printed fit-and-flare three-quarter-sleeved dress in autumnal hues of red and chocolate-brown from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

If you are betting that she wore black pumps you would be wrong as she considered the colour palette of her dress, opting for red patent-leather Mary Janes.

Carrie Underwood In Edition by Georges Chakra – 2013 CMT Music Awards

Carrie Underwood In Edition by Georges Chakra - 2013 CMT Music Awards

Carrie Underwood attended the 2013 CMT Music Awards held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday evening.

The country crooner wore an Editions by Georges Chakra Spring 2013 aqua short suit featuring a geometric pattern and tulle inserts.

This is a nice change of pace for Carrie. However, her pewter Jimmy Choo ‘Vibe’ metallic peep-toes don’t work with her ensemble at all; even white peep-toes would’ve been preferable.

While her look was different, the pageant hair was very much intact. I could’ve forgiven the shoes had she tied her hair back.

A white crystallized Swarovski ‘Power’ clutch and David Yurman jewels completed her look.

Carrie Underwood In Naeem Khan – 2013 ACM Awards

Carrie Underwood In Naeem Khan - 2013 ACM Awards

Just when I thought that a country music event would pass without a Naeem Khan gown taking to the red carpet, up pops Carrie Underwood.

The singer donned a gown from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection for the 2013 ACM Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada yesterday evening.

While it’s not the type of gown I was expecting – embellished, of course – Carrie does look gorgeous wearing this peony-print strapless ballgown, to which she added a black gazar belt to give more definition at the waist.

I’m not usually the biggest fan of Carrie’s style, but on this occasion she wins me over. Both the type of gown and the styling are refreshing, as is the hairstyle, which was a wavy updo.

David Yurman chandelier earrings, a David Yurman pinkie ring, and a black Jimmy Choo clutch completed her look.

Do you also love Carrie’s look or will she always be a pageant princess to you?

Who Wore Reem Acra Better…Carrie Underwood or Zhang Ziyi?

Who Wore Reem Acra Better Carrie Underwood or Zhang Ziyi

Carrie Underwood attended the 46th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee wearing a Reem Acra gown from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.

This gown is everything we would expect from Carrie: embellished, pretty and floaty.

She styled her look with a Swarovski clutch and, despite the light colour of her gown, she opted for heavy kohl-rimmed eyes.

Zhang Ziyi wore the same gown back in late December while attending the Chinese Music Charts Concert in Taipei, Taiwan.

Opting for Sergio Rossi pumps and dazzling Bulgari earrings, I much prefer her styling with a simple updo as opposed to Carrie’s curly pageant ‘do.

The updo is much more sophisticated and gives the look a cleaner finish.
