Now there’s something you don’t see everyday, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy not wearing Dior.

The First Lady of France was with her husband French President Nicolas Sarkozy, when he addressed the houses of parliament at the Chateau de Versailles outside Paris this week.

She looked elegant wearing a black L’Wren Scott dress from the Spring 2008 collection whilst carrying a black bag with a gold handle.

This black wool fitted over-the-knee length dress has the unique combination of a sexy silhouette and a strict conservative line.

Effortlessly beautiful as always.

The Sarkozy’s entertained royalty last night, which is always interesting because we get to see Carla Bruni-Sarkozy dazzle us in another gown.

Carla channeled her inner Grecian goddess wearing a strapless teal blue Azzaro by Vanessa Seward gown as she greeted Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani of Qatar and his wife Sheikha Mouza Bint Nasser Al Misnad for a dinner in their honour last night.

Carla’s diamond necklace was just as stunning as her strapless dress.

The equally beautiful Sheikha Mouza Bint Nasser Al Misnad was not to be outdone. She herself glowed in a gorgeous magenta pink buttoned dress with a matching turban to cover her hair.

I love the diamond belt and which complements the diamond earrings.

Her highness was precisely that in her sky-high black slingbacks. She obviously doesn’t have the problem of towering over her husband.

The First Ladies of fashion met again this weekend at the D-Day landing memorial ceremony in France.

Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, both wore white belted dresses, and kitten heels.

We are, but shouldn’t be, surprised by this fashionable synchronization, because the last time they met, they both wore pussy bow coats.

Carla as we would expect, opting for her favourite fashion house, Dior, wearing a cap-sleeve dress. Whilst Michelle opted for a optic white nylon crepe Narciso Rodriguez dress.

The press has been quick to condemn the ladies, for wearing such a light colour for a sombre occasion, which is quite ridiculous.

With Michelle Obama back in the US, Carla Bruni no doubt breathed a sigh of relief not have to share her ‘First Lady of Fashion’ title.

You can just imagine Carla saying, “here we go again”, as she arrived at a lunch yesterday with Princess Letizia of Spain looking drop dead gorgeous.

Carla arrived wearing a very conservative navy Christian Dior dress, with Louboutin kitten heels (aaaargghh), whereas Princess Letizia, arrived wearing eggplant tiered dress by Spanish designer Felipe Varela, with lust worthy lilac croc heels…proper heels, with a platform and everything.

Carla looks appropriate, and appears to have done her best to not outshine her host, but am I alone in thinking she has lost her sparkle, or has the competition just got that much better?

Carla used to wow me. Now, not so much.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is so captivating that she leaves royalty and heads of state drooling in her wake. When she attended the A.R.T-JOY-LOVE Charity Gala this month, she wore a black Chanel dress, which had a white satin front bib, with kitten heels. *shudders*

Despite Carla impeccable style, I prefer this Chanel dress on Kate Bosworth. Kate wore this dress to the 2008 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York last year.

I think the dress suits Kate better, she accessorized well, and she didn’t wear kitten heels.

President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama arrived for a cultural event during the NATO summit in Baden-Baden this evening.

Michelle Obama has embraced many designer this week. Tonight she wore a classic black Azzedine Alaia dress, with a ruffled skirt which had a tulle underlay.

The heels have gone up a few inches, which I’m thankful for, because flats or kitten heels wouldn”t have looked as elegant with this dress.

Before covering up with a cropped cardigan, she exposed her arms, which for some reason has caused great debate in the past.

I’m hoping you guys will like this look, because the overall feeling is that you have been disappointed by her this week.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was also at this event. She was wearing a custom-made Christian Dior Fall 2009 sheath dress.

The dress shares the same embroidered detail, as a jacket which appeared on the runway.

The Dior flats again, kill this look for me.

“American Character: A Photographic Journey” Launch Event, New York

Lucy Liu has swapped her black YSL Trib Two’s, for a grey suede pair, which we saw Victoria Beckham wear recently.

Lucy’s grey heels worked with the feathered details on her Rachel Roy Fall 2008 dress. The pleated neckline is really interesting.

This is not your average red carpet dress, which is what I love about Lucy, she’s not afraid to take a risk.

Mena Suravi opted for this mocha Christian Siriano Fall 2009 one-shouldered mini dress, which she wore with very fierce strappy heels.

March Of Dimes 34th Annual Beauty Ball, New York

Vanessa Williams wears a well worn Alexander McQueen Fall 2007 strapless chiffon green gown. Both Jessica Alba and Mary J Blige wore this back in 2007.

Vanessa gives her dress some shape, with a studded belt from the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2008 collection.

Does this woman age? She is so flawless.

Fergie debuted her new brunette do, which I really like on her.

Her dress is cute, but those Jimmy Choo heels are fierce.

“Fast & Furious” LA Premiere

Michelle Rodriguez is surprisingly wearing a dress. This is a very rare occasion indeed.

The dress gives the illusion of nudity, but it has an underlay covering the lace details.

This is a very brave choice, as we know flash blubs could have exposed more than we wished to see.

Jordana Brewster’s pink Burberry dress is simply divine. I adore the colour, the draping on the skirt, and the peek-a-boo bodice.

She completes her look with Jimmy Choo Corsica nude gladiator heels.

“Race To Witch Mountain”, LA Premiere

Carla Gugino wore a bright yellow Michael Kors dress with gold accessories including Christian Louboutin heel, and gold Jimmy Choo clutch.

Everything about this look is perfect, excluding her hair ‘do. I have never been a fan of hair plied on top like that, because it reminds me of a pineapple.

AnnaSophia Robb wore a purple Nicole Miller criss-crossed haltered dress.

A very cute dress, for the young actress.
