Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Met Gala 2013

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening. Models @ The Met post will follow.

Brooklyn Decker: The actress wore a custom Peter Pilotto look inspired by the Spring 2013 collection. While the look is custom I feel like I have seen this look several times before, so there is nothing fresh or new about it, unlike other custom looks as showcased by Karolina Kurkova and several others. Her Sergio Rossi ‘Hypnos’ sandals, however, are a work of art.

Alicia Keys: The singer took to the red carpet wearing a custom Jason Wu gown. Her black leather and bordeaux sequin embroidered halter gown is beautiful, but I wish Alicia had pushed the punk vibe with the styling a bit more; the red streaks in her hair aren’t enough for me, especially when we know Alicia isn’t afraid of taking a fashion risk. Robert Lee Morris jewels and a vintage clutch completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress wore a beautiful custom Calvin Klein scarlet gown for the occasion which was punked up as far as she would go with a studded choker and a Tod’s black studded clutch with a gold frame. While I do love this look, I wish Maggie had gone bra shopping before this event.

I hope you all keep up with my tweets and Instagram pictures from the MAC & Carine Roitfeld ‘Le Bal’ celebrations which took place yesterday at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild during Paris Fashion Week.

One of the first to arrive was the lovely Karlie Kloss, my hero, who looked gorgeous wearing an Alexander Wang Spring 2013 fresh-off-the-runway look.

She got the ‘smoky eye’ memo, as did Poppy Delevingne, who smouldered on the red carpet wearing an Emilio Pucci black long-sleeve dress with a gold dragon from the recent Spring 2013 collection.

Carine Roitfeld arrived wearing signature all black Givenchy avec smoky eyes, the inspiration for the whole evening.

Carine Roitfeld also attended the amfAR New York Gala on Wednesday night.

What would a fashion event be without a little Carine?

The former French Vogue Editor-In-Chief wore a Givenchy Spring 2012 Couture look that is slightly modified from the look presented as she swapped the cold-shoulder top for a white silk shirt and lace-detailed camisole combo.

She kept the presented black wool pants which are embroidered with three-dimensional flower elements made of caged jet crystals and studs.

The detailed couture look was paired with black leather opera gloves and black suede leather sandals.

This look is 100% Parisian chic, and perfect for Carine.

I saw Carine Roitfeld at Chloe’s Spring 2012 presentation yesterday in Paris.

The former editor-in-chief of French Vogue is, like Anna Wintour, already wearing a Spring 2012 look.

Carine paired a nude blouse with a Givenchy Spring 2012 skirt.

The Givenchy Spring 2012 collection was only presented on Sunday, so that is the quickest runway-to-red-carpet item we’ve seen this season.

Her beautiful white skirt with a satin panel and slate grey underskirt was paired with nude sandals.

It looks like she’s moved on from wearing the same Alaia heels with every look.

Carine Roitfeld: The former editor In Chief of Vogue Paris scores the first Couture Fall 2011 look just 2 days after it was presented during Couture Fashion Week. She wore a Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture off-white silk tulle with appliqué of Chantilly lace which she wore with a thin gold metal and stingray belt. The look was complete with a white feathered jacket.

Fan Bing Bing: I was really disappointed that pictures of my girl at the 2011 amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala didn’t show up until this morning. She glowed wearing a fuchsia pink Louis Vuitton strapless ruffled bustier gown. I love that she opted for a more natural look again, as this is when her beauty really shines through. LV L’Ame du Voyage collection jewels and a LV minaudiere completed her look.

Jane Fonda: The actress looked stunning wearing a Roberto Cavalli long sleeve beaded gown. I just love her emerald Chopard earrings which are the perfect complement to her look.

Charlene Wittstock: The blonde beauty arrived with her fiancé Prince Albert of Monaco wearing a Giorgio Armani Privé dove grey gown. Her multi-layered off-the-shoulder gown was embellished with crystals around the empire waist.
