Carina Lau In Valentino & Angelababy In Christian Dior – ‘Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea’ Press Conference & Premiere

Carina Lau In Valentino & Angelababy In Christian Dior - 'Young Detective Dee Rise of the Sea' Press Conference & Premiere

Two of our favourite stylish Asian actresses took to the red carpet for the ‘Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea’ press conference held at Kerry Centre Hotel in Beijing, China on Monday.

Carina Lau: The beautiful actress wore a long-sleeved wool Valentino Fall 2013 black dress featuring slit hip pockets and a contrast white peplum with cutwork and tonal beaded embellishment styled with black pumps.

Angelababy: The model/actress was equally glam, wearing a Christian Dior Fall 2013 pale-pink silk bustier and black-and-off-white silk skirt with a draped detail on the hip, which she styled with black Dior heels. You may remember that Ahna O’Reilly wore this dress to the ‘Jobs’ LA screening last month.

The same day, both ladies attended the premiere held at Solana, yet only Carina opted to change.

Carina Lau: Turning to Valentino again, she wore a long-sleeved black gown also from the Fall 2013 collection featuring a contrast lace collar and bib, contrast lace buttoned cuffs, a sheer insert at the waist and tonal intricate beaded embroidery at the front bodice, around the waist and at the hem. She styled her gown with her hair back and a black-and-gold clutch.

Angelababy: Wearing the same dress, she opted to wear her hair down on this occasion and added tights to her look.

Should Angelababy have changed? I would’ve liked to have seen her in a second look, but I like the fact that she was confident enough to rock the same look all day. Who needs the hassle of deciding what to wear and then changing into it?

Carina Lau In Marc Jacobs – Louis Vuitton Commerical Event

Carina Lau In Marc Jacobs - Louis Vuitton Commerical Event

Carina Lau attended a commercial event hosted by Louis Vuitton in Hong Kong, China on Saturday evening.

The actress surprised me by wearing a Marc Jacobs Spring 2013 look.

Usually when a brand hosts an event, especially in Asia, the celebrity wears that brand. While designed by the same designer, it’s still an usual move.

Her 60s-inspired black-gold-and-white short-sleeved dress with a squared top half and striped panelled skirt with sheer inserts is the shorter version of the same look which took to the runway.

Carina’s styling makes this look feel very pedestrian. The sassy vibe the look had on the runway is made to look quite conservative with her black accessories and centre-parted ‘do, which is probably the look she was going for.

Louis Vuitton Beijing Store Opening

Louis Vuitton Beijing Store Opening

On Friday Louis Vuitton opened a store in Beijing, China, inviting many local celebs to help celebrate the occasion.

Fan Bingbing: As the face of the brand, Fan Bingbing was of course in attendance. The actress wore a lemon floral satin slip dress with nude Chantilly lace trims which she styled with a dove-grey LV printed coat and off-white LV ‘Alma’ bag, all from the Fall 2013 collection with much improved styling over the runway. With her style being inconsistent over the past few months, it’s nice to see her back to her effortlessly glamorous self here.

Carina Lau: The actress made her degrade Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 wrap-coat the focal part of her look with a Chantilly lace trimmed dress barely seen under her coat. While the LV sandals perfectly complement the look, the horrid grey LV fold-over clutch dominates it. Had she ditched the bag, this would’ve been my favourite look.

Qin Shupei: The model wore a Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 lingerie-inspired grey-checked slip dress with spaghetti straps and Chantilly lace trims with light embellishments, which we’ve seen twice before on Victoria Beckham, once on a shoot and the other controversially during the Wimbledon mens final. Qin styled her look with a black clutch and the same LV sandals worn by Carina and Fan in grey.

Carina Lau In Valentino – 2013 Smile Angel Foundation Gala Dinner

Carina Lau In Valentino - 2013 Smile Angel Foundation Gala Dinner

Carina Lau, one of the many Asian stars to attend Cannes Film Festival, graced the red carpet at the 2013 Smile Angel Foundation Gala Dinner held in Hong Kong, China on Thursday evening.

The beautiful actress wore a Valentino Resort 2013 gown.

I can’t say I liked her black-and-pink V neck gown to begin with, so factor in the novelty Judith Leiber Cupcake silver crystal minaudière, mixed metal gold bracelet and pale makeup and I’m struggling to find one thing I actually like about this look.

Nice bun, perhaps.

Carina Lau In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Bends’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Carina Lau In Elie Saab Couture - 'Soshite Chichi Ni Naru' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

It’s the moment I have been waiting for since Wednesday — well, since the Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture collection was presented, and that was to strike this stunning gown off my wish list.

Carina Lau attended the ‘Bends’ premiere during Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals in France this evening glowing in the white embellished gown with cape, which is my favourite look from my favourite designer.

The only thing I would change about this look is the jewellery. I would strip the look back and let the gown do all the talking.

Carina Lau attended the photocall for ‘Bends’ during Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in France this afternoon.

The Asian actress, who I love for her daring fashion choices, opted for an Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture look on this occasion.

While there is nothing daring about this particular choice, her lilac long-sleeve dress with an embellished pattern is Cannes photocall appropriate, even though I wish she’d taken the hem up a few inches.

Silver jewels and lace ankle-strap shoes which matched her dress completed her lady-like look.
