Carey Mulligan made a return to the red carpet following the birth of her son back in September, to reunited with her ‘Suffragette’ co-star Meryl Streep for the 2015 BFI London Film Festival photocall this morning.

Carey Mulligan: The actress opted for clashing metallic prints, teaming a black and gold floral sweater with a lacy pair of culottes from the Chanel Resort 2016 collection.

Meryl Streep: It’s not often I say this, but Meryl totally stop the show wearing a mod-style Marni colour-block dress with flattering lines. I want to say I dislike the snake-print heels, but a good look from Meryl is so rare, that I will overlook the odd footwear choice on this occasion.

Carey Mulligan In Balenciaga – 2015 Tony Awards

Carey Mulligan In Balenciaga - 2015 Tony Awards

Carey Mulligan attended the 2015 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 7) in New York City.

You may be surprised to learn that I love Carey in this Balenciaga oxblood gown.

Simple, elegant, tailored to perfection and in tune with Carey’s no-fuss style; this is possibly her best look this year.

While there has been no confirmation, the style of gown and dart detailing has made me even more convinced that she has a B.O.B.

Carey Mulligan attended the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala red carpet hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Like Lady Gaga, the actress wore a custom Balenciaga design although hers couldn’t have been more different.

Significantly more restrained, the high-low gown featured a quiet elegance that was topped off by an embellished collar piece.

A vampy oxblood lip and messy bun completed the look that was perfectly in line with Carey’s simple, fuss-free style. Yet it was exactly that reason that it failed to excite like some of the other looks of the evening.

2015 Tony Awards Meet The Nominees Press Reception

2015 Tony Awards Meet The Nominees Press Reception

The 2015 Tony Awards Meet the Nominees Press Junket was recently held at The Paramount Hotel on Wednesday (April 29) in New York City, ushering in a range of stage and screen talent for the event.

Carey Mulligan: While I’ve never been one to disregard a quirky fashion piece, her cartoonish UFO and shooting star blazer would have likely benefited from sleeker styling, beginning with more fun and more boldness in her beauty look.

Helen Mirren
: Never one to lose her sense of sophistication, she was elegant in a navy blue dress sleekly punctuated by a white belt and handbag, although a clutch would have been just as appropriate and significantly less cumbersome.

Elisabeth Moss: That nearly neon, red-orange lippie was my favourite part of Elisabeth’s look, echoing the scattering of embellishment on her prim little blue Noon By Noor dress. I almost wish her shoes had been just as bright.

Carey Mulligan In Lanvin – ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’ New York Screening

Carey Mulligan In Lanvin - 'Far From The Madding Crowd' New York Screening

Carey Mulligan attended the New York special screening of ‘Far From the Madding Crowd’ at The Paris Theatre, on Monday (April 27) in New York City.

Upon seeing this look I said to myself, this is more like it.

The bedazzled Dior Couture bathrobe from the London premiere was far too glitzy for the British actress, whereas this Lanvin navy dress is more suited to her no-fuss style.

The fluid satin gown is a darkly romantic choice which, thanks to the Lanvin pearl accented accessories, thankfully doesn’t fall flat.

For someone who loves bells and whistles, I find myself loving this chic, simple offering.
