Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Carey Mulligan showed her support for the Alzheimer’s Society by attending the ASMALLWORLD Gala Dinner held at The Gstaad Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland on Saturday evening.

The British actress, who serves as an ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, donned a black-and-silver Valentino Fall 2012 dress.

Carey has been M.I.A. from the red carpet for a while since recently getting married, but she keeps up her good reputation with this look.

Her black Prada sandals with silver detailing perfectly tie together with the unique silver lace of the dress; with a thin black belt nipping in her waist.

Centre-parted hair pulled back into a tight bun, kohl-rimmed eyes and a black Nina Ricci clutch provided the finishing touches.

Carey Mulligan and hubby Marcus Mumford were seen taking a leisurely stroll in SoHo, New York City last week.

The British actress looked lovely sporting a light blonde curl ‘do, wearing a midi-length floral dress with a square neckline which has a retro feel to it.

Her Tory Burch metal-framed round sunglasses also leaned towards that vintage vibe, but her Tom Ford ‘Natalia’ bag brought the look right up-to-date with its sleek finish and striking gold hardware.

You may remember that Kate Bosworth carried the same bag just a few weeks ago on a romantic stroll with her beau. Jennifer Aniston owns this bag too.

Carey completed her summery look with black Prada ‘Kid’ flat cage sandals, drop earrings and red nail polish.

You can buy Carey’s Tom Ford ‘Natalia’ bag from Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

Carey Mulligan, the co-host of this year’s Met Gala, was one of the first to arrive on the red carpet.

The British actress looked sensational wearing a custom two-tone gold-and-silver Prada halter dress covered with paillettes.

Her dress with a pleated detail at the back was styled with satin Prada pumps and a simple updo with a rockabilly twist.

Regular readers know I’m not a fan of mixing metals, but this look ranks in the top five for Carey.

Despite her co-hosting duties, she was radiant and relaxed on the red carpet.

Sultry, smoky eyes and a nude lip colour completed her look.

Do you agree that this is one of Carey’s best ever looks?

Carey Mulligan attended the London Film Critics’ Circle Awards 2012 which was held at the BFI Southbank this evening in London.

The British actress wore this Roland Mouret Spring 2012 dress for a second time.

This berry red jersey dress with white leather flower appliqués was first worn to a private party at the Chateau Marmont last week.

I’m happy she wore the dress a second time, because now we get to see the dress from the front.

On the previous occasion she opted for black peep-toes, but tonight she donned blue YSL Palais pumps which we’ve see her wear once before.

Whilst I love that she opted for a surprisingly colour choice shoe-wise, I think I would’ve preferred black peep-toes.

Yes I said it.

Tacori studded earrings completed her look.

Carey Mulligan is a very busy woman of late.

Too busy to stop and allow us to see what lovely clothes designers have loaned her.

On Tuesday she was spotted heading into the 2011 National Board of Review Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City wearing a Lanvin Resort 2012 dress.

The beautiful rose-beige ombre fringe dress was teamed with Sergio Rossi shoes and a metallic clutch.

Even from the side I can tell this is a stunning look for Carey. Read more…

Carey Mulligan wears just a Nina Ricci raffia tweed jacket and cotton bra on the cover of the January 2012 issue of W magazine.

The tagline for the issue is appropriately title “Carey Mulligan: Naughty But Nice – The star of Shame sheds her good-girl image.”

Carey’s high dramatically editorial, shot by Michael Thompson was given a 60s theatrical styling treatment by Edward Enninful.

The editorial sees her wearing Louis Vuitton, the one person who I hope will bring this Spring 2012 collection alive on the red carpet, Prada, Miu Miu, Jean Paul Gaultier and Rochas.

In her interview the British actress talks about nude scenes and her unsettling and haunting new film, ‘Shame’.

Here are some extracts.

On her nude scene: “I’ve never, never been naked in a film before; I’ve been topless once or twice, but always in sort of very innocent ways. And I’ve always been sort of staunchly feminist about it, I’ve never relished the idea of doing it, and never if it was inappropriate or gratuitous in any way. But I just felt it was absolutely right; that’s exactly who she was. She wanted to be seen, she’s an exhibitionist and she’s provocative.” Read more…
