Elle’s 21st Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

Elle's 21st Annual Women In Hollywood Celebration

Elle hosted their 21st annual Women in Hollywood celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (October 20) in Beverly Hills, California in association with Calvin Klein, so of course many of the attendees were decked out in the brand’s latest designs.

Kerry Washington: Working a Resort 2015 look which was edgier than we’ve come to expect from the ‘Scandal’ star, she pulled it off with ease. The fold-over neckline sits a lot higher than it does on the runway but this works in her favour, enhancing the matching blue eye makeup. I love the sexy Christian Louboutin ‘Miss Rigidaine’ pumps, but the black and white Thale Blanc clutch feels terribly out of place.

Ashley Madekwe: The actress can pull off just about anything and here she works a Resort 2015 LBD which is inherently minimalist, with the gold-metallic bib, David Yurman jewels and strappy sandals giving the look an edge.

Lizzy Caplan: Serving up a third Resort 2015 look, Lizzy opted for a sportier look, donning a colour-block look styled with grey accessories. The shoes can stay, but that clutch has gotta go. No clutch at all or something considerably smaller would’ve worked for me.

Brie Larson In Prada - 'Begin Again' New York Premiere

Brie Larson attended the ‘Begin Again’ premiere held at the SVA Theatre on Wednesday (June 25) in New York City.

The actress wore an empire-waist Prada red mini dress featuring a playful swing pleated skirt.

Loading up with Prada accessories, she completed the look with neutral makeup, which gave her a radiant glow, and wavy tresses.

Brie Larson In Diane Von Furstenberg - 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Brie Larson attended the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday (June 2) in New York City.

We haven’t seen the talented actress since the Met Gala, where you didn’t take too well to her space-age Prada look.

Working another galactic look, she wore a pretty black chiffon star-print Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2014 ‘Tamara’ gown, which she styled with a DVF ‘Evil Eye’ shoulder bag.

A retro wavy ‘do and barely there makeup completed this sweet outing.

Brie Larson In Prada – 2014 Met Gala

Brie Larson In Prada - 2014 Met Gala

Brie Larson joined the Prada parade on the red carpet at the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday (May 5).

While Miuccia’s muses Margot Robbie and Lupita Nyong’o failed to excite, I couldn’t be more in love with Brie’s punchy Prada outing.

Her custom-designed geometric paillette- and bead-embroidered golden ensemble comprising a metallic sleeveless tunic and pants characterized by a gold chevron inlaid into a royal-blue jewelled base is a marvel to behold.

I’m intrigued by every facet of this look, including her Gaydamak yellow gold and white diamond ‘Plume’ hand bracelet, although her Prada accessories should’ve been navy-blue rather than black.

It is a fashionable futuristic look worthy of such an occasion.

Regarded as being quite shy on the red carpet, her personality and ability to step out of her comfort zone really shone through here.

Marina B rings completed her look.

Brie Larson In Miu Miu – Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014

Brie Larson In Miu Miu - Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014

Brie Larson attended the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday (March 2) in West Hollywood, California.

The actress sparkled in a Miu Miu black paillette cocktail dress.

The top features Swarovski crystal and beaded fringes with the bottom enhanced with multi-coloured sequin koi fish motif inspired by the Miu Miu Spring 2014 collection.

Prada turquoise satin pumps, a navy satin Prada clutch, Mont Blanc rings and earrings accessorized her look.

It’s a glitzy look for the no-fuss starlet, but I love the way the blue hues stand out plus the sexy silhouette.

I just wish she’d opted for a tad more makeup.

Brie Larson In Maison Martin Margiela – Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014

Brie Larson also joined the chic set of starlets at the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards, hosted Saturday (March 1) at Santa Monica Beach in California.

Nominated for Best Female Lead for her film, ‘Short Team 12,’ the actress looked to the progressive design house of Maison Martin Margiela for her strapless black dress from the Spring 2013 collection.

Although the silhouette was simple, it was certainly still statement-making, what with the exaggerated sweetheart neckline and front slit.

She added additional polish via a gold cage bracelet, Christian Louboutin ‘Decollete’ nude pumps and a cream-coloured Smythson ‘Soho Diary’ clutch, with a casual ponytail and barely-there makeup putting forth a beach-y spin.

While I appreciate the overall direction of the look, I still wish it had delivered a slightly more figure-flattering fit at some angles.

Brie Larson In Louis Vuitton – 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Brie Larson In Louis Vuitton - 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival

During the 29th Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Brie Larson was honoured with the Virtuosos Award along with Daniel Bruhl, Michael B. Jordan, Jared Leto and June Squibb at an event held at the Arlington Theatre on Tuesday (February 4) in Santa Barbara, California.

Once again I find myself just not getting Brie’s style.

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton Resort 2014 look consisting of a latte-coloured cape and a yellow-green-and-blue tweed dress with frayed edges.

I’m not a fan of the cape, which she never removed. Neither do I like the shoes; while they don’t have to be sky-high heels, as the brogues suit her quirky style, I don’t like the dark colour here.

The only thing working for me is the Rodo clutch, which complements her dress.

Hair and makeup are beautiful here, I have to say.
