Brandy In Esteban Cortazar – Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013

Brandy In Esteban Cortazar - Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2013

Brandy was one of the guest performers on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve special on Monday night, which I’m guessing was pre-recorded as she was spotted on the red carpet in Las Vegas on the same night.

On this occasion she sported long tresses while wearing an Esteban Cortazar Resort 2013 look.

This is the second look she’s worn from the Colombian designer’s collection, which can also boast Solange Knowles as a huge fan.

Dressed in an LWD with a dramatic funnel collar and daring asymmetrical cut-outs at the back, she styled her one-sleeved frock with Tom Ford over-the-knee anaconda stiletto boots, which have also been spotted on Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.

Do you like the edgier looks Brandy has been serving up lately, or do you think she’s trying way too hard?

Brandy In Mary Katrantzou – New Year’s Eve Party

Brandy In Mary Katrantzou - Lavo New Year's Eve Party

Brandy hosted a New Year’s Eve party at Lavo at The Palazzo in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday night.

The singer, who is recently engaged to beau Ryan Press, wore a Mary Katrantzou Fall 2012 dress.

Her graphic print dress has been slightly modified from the version which took to the runway: it doesn’t have the 3-D effect on the skirt and the sleeves have a little less volume.

Keeping the styling simple, the bride-to-be wore black strappy Christian Louboutin ‘Zoulou’ platforms and a black clutch, with voluminous tight curls and glossy lips completing the look.

Brandy In Esteban Cortazar – VH1 Divas 2012

Brandy was just one of the ladies to take to the red carpet at the ‘VH1 Divas’ 2012 event held at the Shrine Auditorium yesterday evening in California.

The singer/actress selected a look from the Esteban Cortazar Resort 2013 collection, which so far has only been worn by Solange Knowles.

Her flirty asymmetrical ensemble with futuristic cuts was styled with metal-ankle-cuff leather sandals from the same collection and a selection of gold jewels.

While the skirt of the dress is particularly fussy, I think Brandy does a good job of making this work for her by not trying too hard and going easy on the accessories, allowing the dress to speak for itself.

Brandy Norwood In Balmain – 2012 BET Awards

Brandy Norwood attended the 2012 BET Awards in LA yesterday evening.

The singer had many functions on the night. Aside from walking the red carpet, she also performed and presented an award.

With so much going on it appears she forgot something.

She wore a satin Balmain Spring 2012 blouse with gold tone metal and clear rhinestone embroidery, but no pants.

It amazes me how Brandy made a shirt which cost approx $4,000 look so cheap.

Sorelina and Soffer Ari jewels plus black pumps with a gold padlock completed her look.

Beauty Trend Spotting: Red Carpet Curls

Summer is here and with it comes a more relaxed get-up-go approach to hair.

So it looks like we’re waving goodbye to the ironed-flat Brazilian Blow-out and relaxers and saying “Hello curls”, or in Halle’s words, “This is what you call wash-and-wear beach hair. It’s ready to go!”

Singers Brandy Norwood and Solange Knowles have also gone for grown-out bouncy curls recently, but whether your ringlets are real or have been given a helping hand with a curling iron or hair extensions, the secret is a great conditioner according to stylist Oscar James, whose clients include Tyra Banks, Vanessa Williams, Halle Berry, Iman and Beyonce.

‘It’s paramount that you start with deep conditioner always,’ he says. ‘Deep conditioning means healthy hair.’

* Here are Oscar’s tips for a great head of curls:

* Shampoo the hair, give it a great conditioner and use heat on it.

* Then rinse and blow it dry. I don’t really use a product before blowing out because when you put heat on a product, hair tends to look oily.

* Use a quarter-size iron to curl all around in no real pattern, and curl it haphazardly to get free-form curls in all directions.

* Finish with a holding spray and a little pomade to give shine and texture and help the curls stay where you put them.
