Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup 23 march

The past few days have been filled with a range of menswear looks—from traditional to trendsetting. Here, a look at the highlights.

Channing Tatum: The actor attended the 26th annual GLAAD Media Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (March 21) in California. Looking dapper in a dark Prada three-piece suit with contrasting navy tie, he and his striking wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, only heightened each other’s respective hot factor.

David Beckham: For the presentation of the new ‘Modern Essentials by H&M’ collection at the H&M Gran Via store in Madrid, Spain on Friday (March 20), Becks naturally wore an H&M ensemble paired with adidas sneakers. The classic suit separates paired with a relaxed T-shirt was sporty and simple with the crisp pop of white from the shoes, yet I do wish there were fewer visible creases in the pants. That more robust beard will also take some getting used to, as I barely recognize the soccer stud with it.

Brad Goreski
: The ‘Fashion Police’ star was also at the GLAAD Media Awards, donning a Valentino skinny brown suit with contrasting Christian Louboutin flats, which was perfectly in keeping with his spirited, cheeky style. I love the whimsical personality of the flutter of colourful butterflies and the additional pop from the three-tone shoes.

2015 Oscars & Vanity Fair Party Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Oscar men

The men were out in force at the 2015 Oscars and the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where there was plenty of handsome inspiration to go around from a fine group of fellows.

Jared Leto: Getting the evening started on a non-traditional note, the actor and musician was every bit the unorthodox Academy Awards dresser in his baby-blue Givenchy tux, accented by a white bowtie and white lug sole shoes. He let his hair down literally and made no excuses for it, saying that the Oscars was his going-away party for his locks. I wonder if the beard was also included in that party. While no one could pull this off like Jared, between the mane and the male pastels, this was verging on almost too much too handle.

Chris Pine: A stark contrast to Jared, Chris went for the all-out traditionally classic route and suited up in a Giorgio Armani black double-breasted peak-lapel tuxedo. It was impeccable and goes to show what transformative power a well-tailored tux can have.

David Oyelowo: Looking as if he was inspired by the red carpet itself, the ‘Selma’ actor dressed to impress in a crimson Dolce & Gabbana three-piece tuxedo word with #TackleEbola handcrafted pin by Jason of Beverly Hills. He does a great job pulling off this colour, yet I’m not completely sold on the satiny look of the vest and bowtie underneath.

Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Roundup 14 jan

Here is a quick menswear roundup starting in Washington, crossing to London and heading back stateside to New York.

Bradley Cooper: While his co-star Sienna Miller was promoting their new movie ‘American Sniper’ in New York, Bradley was attending the premiere held at the Burke Theater at the US Navy Memorial in Washington DC on Tuesday (January 13). The actor was looking very sharp in a Thom Sweeney grey flannel suit styled with a thick navy tie and shiny patent-leather lace-ups.

David Gandy: The words David Gandy and dapper go hand in hand. He was looking mighty fine in London on Monday afternoon (January 12) ahead of the Burberry Prorsum London Collections: Men Fall 2015 show. Decked out in a mustard three-piece windowpane suit styled with blue shirt and striped tie, I was very much on the fence when it came to the hat, but the styling grew on me quite quickly because, let’s face it, he can pull just about anything off.

Chris Hemsworth: The actor made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, taped at the Rockefeller Center on Tuesday (January 13) in New York City, to promote his latest movie, ‘Blackhat’. Before being soaked with water by the host, the actor was looking as handsome as ever wearing a grey windowpane suit sans tie, which was beautifully tailored for a streamlined fit.

Here is a quick look at some of the dapper gents taking to the red carpet this week.

Common: The actor attended the ‘Selma’ New York premiere alongside the lovely Tessa Thompson on Sunday (December 14), looking pretty sharp himself wearing a Calvin Klein Collection suit. While the cut and fit is to be admired, I can’t help swooning at how the oxblood hue is so heavenly against his caramel skin tone. Styled with a blush shirt and patterned tie, the look was completed by a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood lace-up shoes with a contrast trim.

Bradley Cooper: The actor was back to his super-sharp best, donning a black silky-smooth cashmere Tom Ford suit to the ‘American Sniper’ New York premiere. The look is simple and classic, which only serves to bring out those gorgeous blue eyes. While I prefer Cooper with a bit of stubble, this clean-shaven look does have me swooning.

Dan Stevens: The British actor attended the ‘Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb’ London premiere held at the Empire Leicester Square on Monday (December 15). The buttoned-up shirt tieless look doesn’t always work for me as it has a feeling of being not quite finished, yet with the slickness of the Armani suit styled with the studded shoes, I would say Dan pulls this look off with great aplomb.

GQ Men Of The Year Awards Menswear Roundup

GQ Men1

Even though the girls grabbed plenty of stares at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, hosted in association with Hugo Boss at The Royal Opera House in London, England on Tuesday (September 2), the evening was about the guys, after all. Many in the handsome bunch were naturally dressed to impress.

Douglas Booth: Rather appropriately attired in a bespoke BOSS Made to Measure suit to accept his Hugo Boss Most Stylish Man award, the actor didn’t leave anyone guessing as to his sartorial cred. He was as charming as ever in this navy-blue number. The perfect bow tie was my favourite part—the icing on the cake.

Dan Stevens: The British actor and one of the evening’s presenters wore a Dior Homme Prussian blue slim, shawl-collar tuxedo with a white cotton wing-tip tuxedo shirt and black patent leather derbies. The colour of the suit was obviously selected to bring out his intense baby-blue gaze, which helped detract from the fact that the black satin bow tie was rather oversized.

Benedict Cumberbatch: The Actor of the Year winner took a monochromatic approach in an all-black three-piece Spencer Hart suit and tie. He could have done better for his big night.
