Red Carpet Fashion Awards

BD1 12 May

There was just no separating Blake Lively and Karolina Kurkova this week.

Both taking 34% of your votes, they were neck and neck all weekend.

Blake swept you off your feet with her dazzling return to the red carpet in Gucci Premiere, while Karolina’s Marchesa sculpted strapless satin-organza gown was not only a thing of beauty but was also one of the very few looks which lived up to the theme. This was my favourite too.

Blake Lively In Valentino - Out In New York City

Blake Lively was spotted leaving a hotel in Downtown New York earlier today (May 7).

Working another chic coat, the actress selected a shimmering jacquard piece from Valentino’s Fall 2014 collection featuring the same butterfly and floral print we also see in the Pre-Fall 2014 collection.

Her chic, belted coat was styled with iridescent accessories including her Marchesa ‘Iris’ quartz clasp clutch and Christian Louboutin ‘Miss Fast’ booties.

J’adore…from the ankles.

Blake Lively In Gucci - Gucci's 'Chime For Change' Campaign Celebration

Following her Met Gala triumph, Blake Lively was back on the red carpet for the celebration of Gucci’s ‘Chime For Change’ campaign held at Macy’s Herald Square on Tuesday (May 6) in New York City.

Wearing two Gucci looks, we get to see more of her blue suede Gucci Pre-Fall 2014 trench coat than we do the Gucci Fall 2014 bejewelled bib mini dress with a leather collar that she was wearing underneath.

I’m sure you share my bitter disappointment that she didn’t remove the coat to showcase the dress, but I’m sure this isn’t the last time these spectacular pieces will make their way onto the red carpet.

Christian Louboutin spiked pumps, kohl-rimmed eyes and a purposely messy side-swept plait completed her look.

I’m hoping pictures sans coat surface elsewhere otherwise this will be a waste of a great dress.

Blake Lively In Gucci Première - 2014 Met Gala

Blake Lively attended the 2014 Met Gala in New York City on Monday (May 5) with hubby Ryan Reynolds.

The face of Gucci Première women’s fragrance, wore a custom Gucci Première silk chiffon blush gown embroidered with rose-gold sparkling paillettes details.

I love the soft mermaid silhouette, the nipped in waist and the two delicate chiffon scarves which cascaded from her shoulders sweeping into a voluminous train.

It’s old Hollywood glamour at its very finest and easily one of my favourites of the night; you won’t be surprised to hear.

Blake completed her look with a pair of blush satin Gucci heels and a selection of Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

She was the one I was waiting for, and she didn’t let me down.

Blake Lively In Gucci – On The Set Of ‘Age of Adaline’ Part 2It would appear that Blake Lively’s wardrobe in ‘Age of Adaline’ will be a supremely chic one. Previously donning a Gucci Resort 2014 frock while filming in Vancouver, Canada, she continues to come to the movie set in Gucci looks that are smartly modern with plenty of retro-sophisticated appeal.

Look 1: On Monday (March 17), the actress wore a Gucci Pre-Fall 2013 striped, multi-colour sweater and forest-green, pleated skirt, topped off with a camel trench coat. Designer Frida Giannini’s Pre-Fall collection was rich in fifties references, which were only enhanced here by Blake’s styling, including a demure handbag and pumps along with her rolled ’do.

Look 2: While filming a late-night scene with co-star Michiel Huisman on Wednesday (March 19), she again wore a piece from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection, with her deep-green trench coat taking top billing. The sculpted shape and full skirt of the coat, styled with black gloves, couldn’t be more well-suited to the vintage spirit of the film.

Blake Lively Films 'Age of Adaline'

Blake Lively was spotted on the set of her latest movie ‘Age of Adaline’ filming scenes on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery on Tuesday (March 18) in Vancouver, Canada.

This could almost be a scene from ‘Gossip Girl’ if it weren’t for the ’50s styling.

Blake’s blonde hair was parted on the side and pulled back into a low ponytail with twists in the front, while she was wearing a look from the Gucci Resort 2014 collection.

The chic Gucci silk tea dress featuring a beach-ball print interspersed with panels in a contrasting heart motif was styled with a navy cardigan with white stripe detailing and ankle-strap black pumps.

I love that the modern-day frock can work with her 1950s wardrobe. Frida Giannini often seeks inspiration from bygone eras for her Gucci collections, so it’s interesting to see it move full circle here.
