Film Festival Queen 2014 – Blake Lively

Film Festival Queen 2014 - Blake Lively

Blake Lively already been crowned the queen of maternity style, and she has the good fortune of being one-half of the stylish best-dressed couple. But, the best things come in threes, and so do her Best Of honours, as the actress is also your Film Festival Queen of 2014.

Her classic, old-Hollywood style, meshed with a sexy-contemporary edge, is tailor-made for the festival red carpet, especially the Cannes Film Festival, which she took by storm.

She owned the scene at Cannes—she was on fire from the start.

After debuting a rich burgundy Gucci Première full pleated gown, she could have simply gone home so swoon-worthy and sultry was that dress. But, instead, she stayed and gave us look after head-turning look.

In full blonde bombshell mode at the ‘Mr. Turner’ premiere, she shut down the carpet again in a Chanel Spring 2014 Couture iridescent, sequin frock accessorized by a silk shawl.

For her dramatic finale, she was the epitome of regality in her vintage-inspired Gucci Première black-and-white ball gown that received top billing at the ‘Captives’ premiere. Even though she was just there to support husband Ryan Reynolds, all eyes were once again fixed on her.

Best Maternity Style 2014 – Blake Lively

Best Maternity Style 2014 - Blake Lively
Gorgeous mother-to-be Blake Lively is the inaugural winner of the new Best Maternity Style nod, and she’s so far done justice to the award with her curve-enhancing wardrobe.

The actress has always been a fashion-girl since her ‘Gossip Girl’ days. She favours strong, independent statements that are classically elegant with a contemporary, free-spirited spin—looks that have already garnered her recognition as one-half of the best-dressed couple of 2014 with her handsome hubby, Ryan Reynolds.

And, her sense of style has transitioned perfectly with her burgeoning baby bump. She kicked off her first public maternity appearance in fine form, showing her softer side in a Michael Kors oleander and lilac embroidered gown at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards.

While she was likewise the epitome of sultry elegance in all-black Kaufmanfranco gown, her most pivotal moment thus far has been a pale-yellow Gucci gown with an embroidered plunge neckline at the Angel Ball; it maintained a beautiful balance between hot-mama sexiness and all-out sophistication.

Plus, there’s sure to be a few more modish maternity moments left from Blake before she and Ryan welcome their new little one, who will no doubt be just as stylish as his/her mom and dad.

Best Dressed Couple 2014 – Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively

Best Dressed Couple 2014 - Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds couldn’t be more beautiful and handsome if they tried. She, the definitive embodiment of glamour, and he, the distinguished, impeccably dressed gentleman who still maintains all the cuteness of schoolboy charm in his eyes.

Together, they are the consummate Hollywood couple, coordinating their style statements and complementing each other so well.

They were breathtaking in his and hers Gucci entrances during the Cannes Film Festival, working the union of black and white to ultimate effect.

The magic of their golden-age allure was also out in force at the Met Gala, where Blake again was at her best in a sparkling Gucci Première blush gown, elevated by blonde finger waves and a soft red lip. Ryan only needed the sharp cut of a Gucci Made to Order ‘Signoria’ tux to complete the picture.

Now, with baby on the way, no doubt they will be some of the most well-dressed parents around.

Runner Up: Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves

Blake Lively In Kaufmanfranco – L’Oreal Paris’ 9th Annual Women Of Worth Celebration

Blake Lively In Kaufmanfranco - L’Oreal Paris’ 9th Annual Women Of Worth Celebration

Blake Lively attended L’Oreal Paris’ Ninth Annual Women Of Worth Celebration, hosted at The Pierre Hotel in New York City on Tuesday (December 2).

The actress put a dramatic spin on her maternity style, working a simple yet striking Kaufmanfranco black, figure-hugging gown, amped up with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

The dress’s backless detail gave Blake plenty of angles to work, as she flashed a radiant smile on the red carpet. She’s already glowing, but some additional sparkle never hurt anyone—and her statement pendant earrings and rows of cuffs did the trick.

Currently maintaining a darker hair colour, she let her reverse ombre strands cascade in gorgeous waves to finish out the look.

Blake Lively In Michael Kors – Martha Stewart American Made Summit

Blake Lively In Michael Kors - Martha Stewart American Made Summit

Martha Stewart and Blake Lively attended the Martha Stewart American Made Summit on Saturday (November 8) in New York City.

While Martha worked a white blouse, leather pants and open-top booties look, which shocks in a surprisingly good way (who knew she had this in her?), Blake looked every inch the picture of loveliness in her white Michael Kors Spring 2015 outfit.

Styling her white knit top and embroidered skirt with an aqua beaded necklace and blush Louboutins, she adds a new dimension to this pretty simple look.

While I may be inclined to agree with those who feel the necklace perhaps dominates the look and shouldn’t have been considered, this is yet another chic maternity look from Blake.

Blake Lively In Gucci – Angel Ball 2014

Blake Lively In Gucci - Angel Ball 2014

Blake Lively attended the Angel Ball 2014 hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday (October 20) in New York City, which gave us another look at her maternity style.

The actress went from fully covered at the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards Gala, to this figure-hugging pale-yellow gown with a plunging neckline enhanced with silver tubular embroidery from Gucci’s Resort 2015 collection.

While I’m pretty certain there will be plenty of disapproval with regards to the plunge, I’m less enthused about the colour.

Something tells me this would’ve worked better in a darker shade – perhaps a deep forest-green, rich bordeaux or black.

The look was styled with a half-up half-down hairstyle and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
