Macy’s 150th Birthday Celebration, New York

A few have you have critized Eva Mendes for always playing it safe, but I do not think wearing red is a safe choice.

The beautiful actress wore this stunning fire engine red Michael Kors Fall 2008 belted dress with her hair elegantly swept up, to show-off the bow on the side.

She completed her look with pink satin shoes. Not the actions of someone who plays it safe imo.

The Avon Foundation Hosts The Hope Honors, LA

Earlier I spoke about ‘Boring Biel’, this is ‘Lackluster Lauren’.

This girl should be an inspiration to many young girls of her age, but her red carpet style is so incredibly dull.

Please get a new stylist Lauren. You are such a pretty girl. I know you can do better…well I at least I hope you can.

Jordin Sparks embraces the lace trend, with this turtle-neck dress.

New House of Dereon Collection Launch, New York

Beyonce wears a LBD. What more can you say about a tight-fitting, booty enhancing, totally predictable dress?

But I will give her kudos, for those gorgeous electric blue Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

3rd Annual Starz Hollywood Awards After Party, LA

Maria Bello is one of my many faves, so I am a little disappointed in this black turtle-neck dress.

Tia Mowry forgot to iron her purple halter dress, but she did not forget her husband, actor Cory Hardrict, who I have not seen her walk the red carpet with before.

Taraji P. Henson is very much the golden girl, in her one-shouldered ruffled and layer dress, which she accessorizes perfectly.

Beyonce Knowles graces the cover of the Essence’s November 2008 issue wearing a Fall 2008 coat by Viktor & Rolf.

The singer will be co-starring in two upcoming films, the psychological thriller Obsessed and Cadillac Records, where she’ll star as Etta James. Personally I would prefer her to stick to the singing.

With Essence, Beyonce talks about her new album and life in the spotlight. She also talks for the first time about her wedding to rapper Jay-Z, which is not a surprise considering she now has an album to promote.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On getting married: “We’ve been together a long time. We always knew it would happen. What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It’s real.”

On not wanting an engagement ring: “People put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me.”

On the small ceremony: “[I'm not a] traditional woman. It’s been my day so many days already.”

On her legacy: “I want to be acknowledged as a woman in a very talented group with great harmonies and great songs that made history and changed the culture of women, not only in America but all over the world. [A woman] who could sing a cappella and write her own songs and produce her own songs.”

Beyonce Knowles arrived at the MTV studio’s today for a taping of TRL, and you could have knocked me down with a feather when I saw her wearing this Etro Fall 2008 jumpsuit, with an embellished peplum.

The reason I am so shocked is because this kind of look is very unexpected, from the usually predictable Beyonce.

I am usually quite harsh on Beyonce, but that is because she is so beautiful, and too gorgeous to be wearing Tina Knowles “designs”.

Lets hope this a new beginning of a better wardrobe.

I will ignore the hair on this occasion.

It is official, the RM by Roland Mouret Pigalle dress, is on way to becoming almost as popular as Roland Mouret’s Galaxy dress, which was worn by stars like Cameron Diaz, Dita von Teese and Victoria Beckham.

This form-fitting wool dress with a square pleat front and cap sleeves was first worn by Heidi Klum back in June.

This September 5 more celebrities have been seen in the dress.

UK actress Jennifer Ellison wore the white dress when she attended Ripley’s Believe It Or Not exhibition in London.

Jennifer Lopez wore the dress with YSL Trib Two Platform Pumps to Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 show in New York.

Nina Garcia wore the taupe version, when attending shows at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week.

Beyonce Knowles wore the same taupe dress, when she attended the New Yorkers For Children Fall Gala with her husband.

Finally Dita von Teese is the first to wear the black ‘Pigalle’ dress, when she attended the Fashion Fringe 2008 Grand Final last night in London.

I love the taupe version, and I think Nina Garcia wore it best.

At the moment I am still very much in love with this dress. My worry is that as the popularity grows, people like Heidi Montag and Kim Kardashian will note this, and then jump on the bandwagon, and that is when the love will fade.

Beyonce and Justin Timberlake performed Marvin Gaye’s “Aint Nothing Like the Real Thing” at last nights Fashion Rocks Event in New York.

JT was headed to toe in black, whereas Beyonce was golden, wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008 Couture gold sequined deep plunging jumpsuit, with paillettes embellishments on the sleeves and the foot of the pants.

Great stage look for Beyonce.

For her second performance, Beyonce wore a mustard Zuhair Murad Spring 2008 Couture cocktail belted dress with beaded embellishments on the bodice.

She wore her dress with matching shoes, and a rather odd wig, but I am sure it worked well with her performance.

Best Couture/Best Dressed Award
I LOVE, Love, Love Hilary Swank in this lilac Givenchy Fall 2008 Couture one-shouldered dress.

The colour, the matching shoes and the draping detail, I love it all.

I would not have thought that Hilary would pick something so edgy, but it works.

I would have loved if she had taken this look further and spiked her hair or messed it up a little.

Best Non-Dress Award
Even in a silver blazer and tight fitting pants, Charlize Theron still rocks it.

Her blazer was fresh off the runway from the Rag & Bone Spring 2009 presentation she had attended earlier on in the day.

She completes her look with a Dior statement necklace.

Surprisingly Fabulous Award
If someone had told that Brandy was going to be wearing a dress from the Lanvin Fall 2008 collection, I would predicted it would be a disaster, but she totally pulls off this Lanvin shiny black structured dress.

And I commend her for making it work, because this is not an easy dress too pull off.

I always assumed that whoever wore it on the red carpet, would make the dress look like a dustbin liner, and she does not.

She completes her look with the now popular YSL Trib Two Platform Pumps.

Best Black Award
Rihanna’s Monique Lhuiller Fall 2008 strapless gown with a ruffled neckline, and a jeweled belt, was so fantastic, that I hardly noticed how much I dislike her current hair cut.

What A Refreshing Change Award
You can normally rely on Beyonce to wear a blinged out dress, or a ridiculous tight fitting mermaid style dress, but on this occasion we have a very cute navy mini dress with accentuated, velvet shoulders.

Very classy, very understated, very chic. I love it.

Best Va-Va Voom Curves Award
With Beyonce toning it down, we had to look to Ciara to provide va-va voom curves, and she did, wearing a stunning black and white sequined Elie Saab Fall 2008 asymmetric gown.

She has an amazing body, and this dress fits her like a glove.

No So Lame Award
For once I don’t hate what Paula Abdul is wearing, in fact I really like it, as it compliments her stunning figure.

The gold lame dress is not over the top, its not tacky, its so not like Paula.

Best Mini/Best Legs Award
Hayden Panettiere really loves showing off her legs lately, and she does so again wearing a multi-coloured chain-mail Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2008 mini.

I much prefer the Heroes star with longer locks.

Best Use Of Colour Award
There was not a lot of bright colour on the red carpet last night, so I thank Kate Mara for providing that, with her Zac Posen multi coloured knit dress.

Don’t You Scrub Up Well Award
Who knew Emily Procter had this in her?

Emily is not one to take to the red carpet too often, but she looks amazing here with her champagne sequined Collette Dinnigan Fall 2008 dress and glossy mane.

Just OK Award
Leona Lewis would have got more than ‘Just OK’ had she worn her beautiful black and white Roberto Cavalli Resort 2009 mini dress without the tights.

I love the embroidery on the bodice of this dress.

Best Sparkle Award
I love a sparkling embellished dress, and Molly Sims’ Donna Karan dress is just that.

Most Surprising Award
Vivica A. Fox surprisingly does not offend me, as for once she does not look like one of those honeys from a rap video.

Her look is sophisticated in this black Oscar de la Renta Silk faille embroidered dress which she teams with bowed Christian Louboutin Very Noeud slingbacks.

Most Improved Award
Ashanti goes up and down all the time. This time she does well. It would not be my choice, but she works this heavily embellished fuchsia Marchesa Spring 2008 dress with cut-out detail very well.

Best Dress/Clutch Combo
Award
I love how Elizabeth Banks Stella McCartney’s Pre-Fall 2008 dress compliment each other, but I am a little disappointed with her hairstyle.
