‘A Wrinkle in Time’ London Premiere

The European premiere of ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ on Tuesday (March 13) in London saw a trio of other ladies on the red carpet in addition to the film’s stars, Reese Witherspoon, Storm Reid, and Mindy Kaling.

Ava DuVernay: The film’s director dressed the part in a Prada ankle-length gown with a mini train and articulated shoulders that was pure magic simply by virtue of its cornflower-blue colour. I love the delicate yet effective addition of the embellished belt with a brocade clutch, silver pumps, and a dynamite red lip to round out the look. This was such a lovely showing, from top to toe, for Ava.

Oprah Winfrey: Wearing a look that was elegantly within her wheelhouse, Oprah donned a lightly embellished blouse, obi-style belt, and floor-sweeping Brunello Cucinelli Spring 2018 skirt that was her version of stylized glamour, and the pure effortlessness of it all is what really translated so strongly.

Kathryn Newton: The young starlet wore a darling, ruffled Valentino dress. While the magenta boots perhaps introduced an element of quirky whimsy to the look, I found them to be too strong of a competitor with the frock. I would have preferred to see it stand alone on its own chic merits.

2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were plenty more stars who took to the red carpet for the 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (March 3) in Santa Monica, California, joining Danai Gurira, Kerry Washington and Margot Robbie.

Saoirse Ronan: This Prada lime jacquard shift dress with multi-colour paillettes was perfectly suited to the fun, relaxed nature of the event. Matching Prada sandals and Piaget jewels completed the look.

Dree Hemingway: Also in Prada, I love the luxu boho vibe of her white and red dotted chiffon cap sleeve gown.

Allison Janney:
Bringing some high-glamour to the beach-side event, the ‘I, Tonya’ star looked breath-taking wearing a fuchsia Pamella Roland cut-out gown which perfectly showcased her gorgeous figure. Her matching sandals and emerald jewels couldn’t have been a more perfect fit.

The Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation

A number of starlets turned out for the Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation with ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ director Ava Duvernay and actresses Storm Reid and Rowan Blanchard on Saturday (December 2) in Playa Vista, California.

Storm Reid: The 14-year-old PYT had fun with shimmery fringe in a JI OH Spring 2017 dress with white booties. But, I was most interested in her beautiful curls.

Yara Shahidi: I like that Yara introduced this zesty lime-green hue into her 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble with the on-trend, navy paper-bag waist trousers.

Elaine Welteroth: Also channeling the retro flair of white boots, Elaine put a funky twist on the pink primness of her Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 wrap dress which Ana de Armas previously has worn. As with Storm, I was more focused on her hair, which made the look more striking as a result.

Ava DuVernay In Ashi Studio Couture – 2017 Oscars

Ava DuVernay made quite the statement on the red carpet of the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night (February 26).

The director wore a graceful Ashi Studio Fall 2016 Couture gown with lace appliqué detailing.

First of all, can I just say a big ‘yes’ to gray on the red carpet? The shade is just dark enough to really distinguish it as gray versus silver, and I’m absolutely loving the unique color.

Ava’s gorgeous, long locs, smokey eye and diamond jewelry are the perfect complements to this dramatic look.

2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Roundup

More stars were also in attendance at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 25) in Santa Monica, California.

Danielle Brooks: The ‘OITNB’ actress took the plunge in an Urban Zen by Donna Karan wrap jersey tunic and pant, complemented by a body chain—as if enough attention wasn’t already directed to the girls.

Natasha Lyonne: The actress took a custom Creatures of The Wind rose and green floral dresses out for a spin. The pleated frock held promise, but I couldn’t see the forest for the trees given the clunky, distracting styling with the oversized white clutch and ivory boots.
