HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Many more style darlings were at the HFPA and Instyle Celebration of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Wednesday (November 15) in West Hollywood, California.

Serinda Swan: This Styland ensemble brought every bit of smoldering sizzle we’d expect from a hot-red gown except manifested in a suit, and I loved every minute of it—especially with the matching red lip and handbag.

Andrea Riseborough:
The event saw Andrea reinvent her look again, as she rocked a new Galaxina hairstyle with an equally galactic metallic jumpsuit. Directional makeup and decorative wrist cuffs completed the look that may split the vote—but I think we can all agree that there will be no boredom with this punchy, experimental look.

Olivia Culpo: Some may fault the visible cups underneath this Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 gown. But, the wispy beauty of the tulle and its glinting embellishment had a sense of enchantment, regardless.

Aubrey Plaza In Prada – ‘Ingrid Goes West’ London Film Festival Premiere

Aubrey Plaza worked a variation on the feather trend at the ‘Ingrid Goes West’ premiere at the London Film Festival on Saturday (October 7).

The lemony hue of this Prada gown mixed with the flourishes of cerulean blue was lovely.

But, it was the addition of the wispy, random feathers that led to a certain half-plucked nature that we can chalk up to the quirkier side of the label.

Seeing a close-in view of the bodice, there seemed to be some minor fit issues, as well.

Would you agree?

Aubery Plaza In Prabal Gurung – ‘Ingrid Goes West’ New York Premiere

Following her appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Aubrey Plaza continued down the easy-luxe path for the New York premiere for ‘Ingrid Goes West’.

I love how her fluid Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2017 navy slip dress combines minimalist elegance with a fresh, floral print for a truly modern feminine look.

There’s usually a cheeky, fun or quirky element to Aubrey’s red carpet looks, as we saw at the Miami premiere, but strait-laced works just as well for her.

Jimmy Choo ‘Lola’sandals completed her look.

Aubrey Plaza In Thom Browne – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Aubrey Plaza made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday (August 7), to promote her latest film, ‘Ingrid Goes West’.

Thom Browne is known for his exquisite tailoring which always presents a modern look as demonstrated here.

I love how Aubrey took the formality out of the look by adding a youthful crop top which gave this look a throw-on-and-go effortless vibe.

Aubrey Plaza & Elizabeth Olsen In Marc Jacobs – ‘Ingrid Goes West’ LA Premiere

If you believe that Hollywood stylists Jessica Paster and Sarah Slutsky had made a major fashion faux pas by dressing their clients Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen in the same Marc Jacobs dress for last night’s film premiere of ‘Ingrid Goes West’, you need to see the trailer.

This was a classic case of life imitating art, as the dark comedy is about an unhinged social media stalker (Aubrey) moving to LA and insinuates herself into the life of an Instagram star (Elizabeth Olsen).

Not only do they wear the same dress, but they also wore the same Anita Ko jewels and Sophia Webster ‘Coco’ pumps.

I love how the bold embroidery keeps the look youthful and fun, and how Aubrey hairstyle plays up to the retro vibe of the piece.

It was Aubrey who came up with the idea of this double-take look, so kudos for all parties for playing along and giving us a fun fashion moment.

Aubrey Plaza in Topshop & 3.1 Phillip Lim – Comic Con 2017

Aubrey Plaza has also been in the mix at Comic-Con 2017, where she attended the Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark event on Thursday (July 20) before swinging by the ‘Legion’ screening and Q&A on Friday (July 21).

Entertainment Weekly and FX After Dark: Going for a sweetly casual look, she wore a flirty Topshop floral-print romper that had its charm. But I cannot say that the white Tod’s shoes would have been my first pick.

‘Legion’ Screening: As for her second look, the Tod’s shoes again were a bit befuddling as the orange hue was a strange contrast with her playfully chic 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble. I think it would have been far better served with a complementary sandal for a more streamlined approach. But, you cannot fault her for having some fun.

Aubrey Plaza In Coach – Build Series Present: ‘The Little Hours’

Aubrey Plaza looked pretty in print on Thursday (June 29) at the Build Studios in New York City to discuss her new film, ‘The Little Hours.’

Keeping it simple and casual, the actress opted for a floaty Coach Pre-Fall 2017 feminine floral print dress.

I love the retro rounded collar and the white lining which adds some subtle intrigue to this look. The mismatched hem is another masterstroke which keeps things interesting.

However, the only thing preventing me from loving her look are her ballet flats.

Had she opted for the cool chunky heels on the runway it would’ve taken her look out the grannyish territory it currently resides.

Aubrey Plaza In Red Valentino & Miu Miu – ‘The Little Hours’ & ‘Ingrid Goes West’ LA Screenings

Aubrey Plaza has been at the 2017 Los Angeles Film Festival, where she attended the screening of ‘The Little Hours’ on Monday (June 19) and the closing night screening of ‘Ingrid Goes West’ on Thursday (June 22).

‘The Little Hours’: Despite the embroidered, decorative floral throughout, this Red Valentino Fall 2017 dress resonated more strongly on the solemnly conservative scale that would also seem a bit heavy for summer. So, I’m glad she tried to lighten the mood with her ponytail and pumps although a sandal would have likely been even more successful.

‘Ingrid Goes West’: With a distinct vintage flavour, this pleated, pink Miu Miu frock had something of a quirky, retro charm completed by the black platform heels—even if I didn’t exactly understand the wash of her purple eyeliner here.
