Ashley Olsen & Mary-Kate Olsen In The Row – CFDA Fashion Award Honorees Announcement

Last night many fashion folk gathered for the announcement of the 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards which was held at Diane von Furstenberg’s studio in New York City.

The Olsen Twins were nominated in the ‘New Talent Award’ categories alongside celebrity favourite Prabal Gurung and Joseph Altuzarra.

As you know I don’t get the Olsen twins and I’m not ashamed to admit that, but on this occasion I love what they are both wearing (very rare).

Ashley looked stunning wearing an off-pink The Row Pre-Fall 2011 suit with gold Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Mary-Kate who usually looks like a bag lady, opted for a black suit and black blouse.

She accessorized with a Prada ‘Rosa Pitone’ and Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 heels.

They look equally good so I can’t pick a favourite. Can you?

WWD @ 100 Anniversary Gala

Last night designers a few celebs helped WWD celebrate it’s 100 Anniversary in New York City last night.

Designers Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen arrived in matching black ensembles which predictably took over their petite frames.

They also did that pose where they look joint at the hip. *will never get these girls*

Jessica Szohr added a touch of animal magic to her look by livening up her black jumpsuit with Christian Louboutin ankle boots.

Georgina Chapman was a perfect vision – as always – wearing a Marchesa Fall 2010 dress which makes her look like she’s floating on a very stylish cloud.

Runway To Sidewalk – Ashley Olsen In Balenciaga

The Olsen twins presented their Spring 2011 The Row collection in Paris this season.

This gave them the perfect excuse to shop their favourite Parisian brands.

On one shopping trip Ashley Olsen was spotted wearing a Balenciaga Fall 2010 salmon coloured sweater.

You know I’m not the twins biggest fan, but I love Ashley’s look. So much so that I can get passed the tights consider how cold it was in Paris.

I loved the cute pink skirt, but the unexpected blue furry vest is what I love the most about this look.

It’s a very thrown together look, but I really appreciate it on this rare occasion.

YSL Belle D’Opium Fragrance Launch

Last night Yves Saint Laurent premiered its latest fragrance ‘Belle D’Opium’ in New York City and threw a swanky party to celebrate it.

Many stars attended including Ashley Olsen.

Normally I don’t stop to pay much attention to the Olsen’s, but I must say I do love her turban. It brightens up what would’ve been a very dull look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal looks stunning wearing a sweetheart neckline pink chiffon YSL Edition Soir 2010 dress which she paired with Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Tribute sandals.

Whitney Port has fallen in love with Yigal Azrouël Spring 2010 collection as she’s wearing her second piece.

This time she wears a black Yigal Azrouël cut-out jersey dress, with black pumps and a black Giuseppe Zanotti bag.

Alexa Chung – who was the DJ on the night – was of course in YSL.

She wore a pair of leather slashed shorts from the Spring 2010 collection.

I love the simple grey tee, but I the Mulberry bag and that granny cardigan has to go.

The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus – Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen brought their own unique style to The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus fundraiser on Friday.

I have to admit I kinda like what they are both wearing, which is very rare for me.

Mary-Kate opted for a blue micro mini Proenza Schouler dress with a leopard print cape and Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte ankle boots from the Spring 2010 collection.

The heels are distinctive by the nut bolt heel, the metal toe cap and platform.

A selection of ethnic style bracelets complete the look.

Ashley wore a black lace dress with grey panels with a chocolate brown leather jacket tied to her waist.

She completed her look with Balenciaga heels.

“Lend Me A Tenor” Broadway Opening Night – Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen

This weekend Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attended the “Lend Me A Tenor” Broadway opening night in New York.

I’m sorry, but I struggle to take these two seriously as fashion icons.

I’ve never understood the appeal, and I don’t think I ever will with all due respect to them and their fans.

Despite Easter being all about Spring whites and fluffy bunnies the twins looked like they were on their way to a Tim Burton convention.

Although Mary-Kate tried to break-up her black gothic glam head-to-toe look with a white Proenza Schouler clutch, this look is still too dark for my liking – although Ashley dress with the bows is cute.

The biggest question is why did they need to wear those ridiculously big sunglasses at night?

Runway To JCPenney’s Best Of Spring Showcase – Ashley Olsen In Jil Sander

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were in New York to attend the JCPenney’s Best Of Spring Showcase last night.

Mary-Kate wore a black slightly oversized Dries van Noten blazer as a dress, with a leather belt wrapped around her waist.

I like this look on Mary-Kate, mostly because it’s not 10 times too big for her.

Ashley also opted for a dark colour wearing a navy Jil Sander Spring 2010 belted dress.

On the runway this dress was presented with a skirt over a dress, but Ashley opted out of the skirt, but added sheer sleeves.

I’m not sure how you feel about Ashley’s look, but for me her modifications are a major downgrade.

I’m also disappointed with the black tights. Even I own a pair of navy tights.

I don’t get this at all.
