Araya A. Hargate In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture – Chopard Trophée

Araya A. Hargate made a bold statement at the Chopard Trophée event at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 14), joining Diane Kruger.

She had her first memorable moment at the festival in Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture at the ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ premiere, and delivered another show-stopping outfit in a layered look from Spring 2014.

Voluminous looks are de rigueur, but this certainly isn’t your standard gown.

She made the style her own with the tidier collar and statement jewels. The skirt also has a different silhouette, but it’s no less arresting. This is the sort of look that makes one reconsider the possibilities of red carpet ensembles.

Araya A. Hargate In Giambattista Valli Haute Couture – ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Araya A. Hargate had me positively swooning, when she swept back onto the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for the ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ premiere on Sunday (May 13), joining Jane Fonda and Isabelle Huppert.

If you’re anything like me, you immediately had a mild case of déjà vu upon seeing this Giambattista Valli Spring 2017 Haute Couture confection.

That’s because this whimsical flurry of a fashion daydream was similar to her breathtaking Zuhair Murad entrance last year.

Yet again, she expertly navigated the undulating waves of tulle. But, while this luscious lemon hue was ever so delightful, I found the intense magenta hue of her 2017 moment to be more memorable.

That aside, I would say that her jewelry game was stronger this year, as the extravagance of that Chopard necklace was pretty much unmatchable.

What say you?

Araya A. Hargate In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture – ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

It may have taken her five days, but Araya A. Hargate finally gave us a memorable Cannes Film Festival moment this evening (May 12) for the premiere of ‘Girls Of The Sun (Les Filles Du Soleil)’.

While the embellished sheer gowns have been pleasurable, this Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2017 Couture gown is what I’m hoping to see when I’m constantly refreshing Getty.

A necklace with an asymmetrical neckline has always been a big bug-bear of mine, but this is Cannes, and she’s an Chopard ambassador, so it’s to be expected.

I have a feeling that had she not worn the necklace, she may have kept the furry shoulder accent.

Do you wish she’d kept some of the pageantry from the runway, like the opera gloves perhaps?

Or do you love her presentation as it is?

Chopard Secret Night Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more gorgeous gals who attended Chopard’s Secret Night during Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 12), where they joined by Lupita Nyong’o, Marion Cotillard and Julianne Moore.

Joan Smalls: We expect models to attend these events in predictable sheer, slit to the hipbone dresses, but Joan was not sticking to those loose rules on this occasion. The model looked breath-taking wearing a Miu Miu Collection bow accented top and fluid skirt. I found this look very elegant and chic. Miu Miu executed this beautifully. I would say it’s one of my favourites so far. The look was styled with Roger Vivier sandals and Chopard jewels.

Irina Shayk: The one thing you can always expect from Irina at Cannes is high-glamour. She had me purring with delight at her Alberta Ferretti emerald green velvet gown styled with matching Chopard jewels. This is definitely her best at Cannes this year. Even if this dress did remind me of Rita Ora’s Grammy gown.

Araya A. Hargate In Ashi Studio – ‘Ash Is The Purest White (Jiang Hu Er Nv) Cannes Film Festival Premiere

“Give us something different,” we screamed last night, and tonight Araya A. Hargate delivered at the premiere of ‘Ash Is The Purest White (Jiang Hu Er Nv)’ during Cannes Film Festival, with another feather-festooned moment.

The trouble is, am I really buying this Ashi Studio Spring 2018 Couture featured jumpsuit on her?

Yes and no.

I LOVE that it’s not another beaded cape gown and that it has all the drama I yearn for at Cannes, because if you can’t wear a feathered jumpsuit here, where are you likely to wear it?

On the flip side, the right side of my brain keeps asking is she really tall enough to make this truly work?

She’s giving it a damn good try. And this is far better than her last two beautiful, but forgettable outings.

Emerald stone Chopard jewels manage to upstage all those feathers.
