Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many great menswear looks to take the red-carpet stage over the weekend.

Caleb McLaughlin: At the ripe age of 16, this ‘Stranger Things’ star is showing his incredible flair for style in this 3.1 Phillip Lim paint-splattered ensemble at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday (November 19) in LA. I love how he fully committed to the look, right down to the shoes—and that this is both youthful and fashion-forward at the same time.

Harry Styles: At the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Monday (November 20) in Shanghai, China, Harry did what he does best combining retro and modern style influences in this Givenchy Spring 2018 mint suit and matching silk shirt paired with Givenchy boots.

Machine Gun Kelly: This Comme des Garçons ensemble took the abstract, paint-splattered effect to even greater lengths at the American Music Awards. But, despite the exaggerated elements, the effect came off as directionally cool rather than comical.

Violetta Komyshan and Ansel Elgort In Prada – 2017 GQ Men Of The Year Awards

Ansel Elgort and his ballerina girlfriend Violetta Komyshan attended the GQ Men Of The Year Awards held at The Star earlier today (November 15) in Sydney, Australia.

The adorable couple were both decked out in Prada.

Violetta wore a column keyhole gown rendered in a sultry red satin, while Ansel delivered a sharp and sleek impression wearing a classic Prada tux.

Both were looking very elegant wouldn’t you agree?

Front Row @ Tom Ford Spring 2018

Tom Ford returned to New York Fashion Week with his Spring 2018 show taking place in front of a celeb-packed front row yesterday (September 6).

Kim Kardashian: Forever the shy retiring type, the reality star wore a latex LaQuan Smith dress which I can only imagine took a team of people to help her get into it.

Russell Westbrook: The baller wore a shawl collar suit which I loved for its sharp dapper appeal, until I got to the length of the trousers.

Ansel Elgort: The ‘Baby Driver’ actor didn’t have any issues in the trouser leg department, but with that colourful shimmering Tom Ford jacket, my eyes were immediately fixed to the top part of his look anyhow.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Our menswear roundup takes us to three different places charting the look of some of Hollywood’s handsome up-and-coming stars.

Riz Ahmed: The British actor, who’s up for an Emmy for HBO limited series ‘The Night Of’, made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Monday (August 14), wearing a Burberry suit. The look was expertly tailored for a sharp impression, yet his styling gives the mood a cool, relaxed feel.

Mamoudou Athie: For the ‘Patti Cake$’ New York premiere, the up-and-coming actor showcased Dior Homme’s fresh yet time-honoured aesthetic in a polka-dot matching suit and shirt combo. Like Riz, the overall look is smart and relaxed with Gisueppe Zanotti loafers completing his suave look.

Ansel Elgort: Continuing to take over the promotional duties for ‘Baby Driver’ by himself in Beijing, China, the actor was eternally classic and looking sophisticated in style wearing Tom Ford. You haven’t been too enthused by his more directional looks, so how does this traditional suit fair?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Our menswear roundup of the day takes us to three different places and press occasions for this trio of handsome stars.

Ansel Elgort: Another day, another ‘Baby Driver’ stop for Ansel who was with Eiza Gonzalez in Mexico City for the premiere on Wednesday (July 26). I love the eclectic variety of looks he’s served up recently, with this pink-accented windowpane suit adding to the list. Feather-painted, lace-up shoes were an unexpected finish that proved he’s not afraid to colour outside the lines of the expected norm—or wear baby pink.

Jeremy Renner: Joining Elizabeth Olsen for the ‘Wind River’ LA premiere on Wednesday (July 26), Jeremy made an impressive, formal showing in a sharp Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello tuxedo. Sometimes you just cannot deny the power of a classic.

James Franco: As executive producer of ‘The Deuce,’ James came out for the 2017 Summer TCA press tour in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (July 26). Without taking his look too seriously, he wore a cool, off-duty Dolce & Gabbana ensemble that cheekily celebrated the designers with their cartoonish patches on the bomber jacket. The relaxed look was styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Wolfgang’ brogue boots.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here, a quick catch-up on the menswear looks that have taken to the red carpet over the past few days.

Dane DeHaan: Dane joined Cara Delevingne and Rihanna at the ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ European premiere in London on Monday (July 24). With the girls bringing plenty of drama, he didn’t skimp on a bit of style-forward punch in his Prada double-breasted suite with an artsy, graphic shirt underneath.

Jack O’Connell: Joining Sienna Miller, I can only surmise that Jack was playing into the ’50s setting of ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ at the play’s press night after party on Monday (July 24) in London, as the styling of this Burberry ensemble with the undershirt and cropped trousers had more vintage influences than modern ones.

Clive Owen: Also at the ‘Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets’ European premiere, Clive kept it traditional in a Giorgio Armani suit that was nice if nothing to write home about.

Ansel Elgort In Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci – ‘Baby Driver’ Sydney Premiere

Ansel Elgort joined Lily James for the premiere of ‘Baby Driver’ in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday (July 12).

Offering up a different variation on monochromatic suiting, the actor was dressed in a Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci Spring 2017 suit with red accent collar lapels and wide tuxedo stripes down the pants.

Fully committed to the look, he even wore red socks.

While Ansel can dress with the best in standard formal menswear, I love that he is not one to shy away from exploring alternate sartorial views that present interesting variations on the norm.
