Best Dressed Award

Charlize Theron wore this silver metallic Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2008 bustier with black super skinny pants.

The actress wore a sexy pair of Roger Vivier heels.

Best Boots Award
Sarah Jessica Parker looked amazing again last night, wearing a chocolate shimmering L’Wren Scott Fall 2008 turtleneck dress. Only SJP can get away with wearing a dress this tight.

Check out the white lace up Louboutin boots. Of course they are not out yet. A Fall preview perhaps?

Best Couple Award
Zanessa aka Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron did not walk the yellow carpet, but they were snapped together.

Vanessa wore a summery plunging neckline sea shell-patterned Diane von Furstenberg dress, and her beau, Zac wore a navy blue sheen suit and white shirt by Moschino Uomo.

Best Style Transformation Award
Who would have thought lil’ Miss Anne Hathaway could pull off such an edgy look?

From the neck down she is almost unrecognisable in her edgy one-shouldered Sophia Kokosalaki black dress.

Best Hair Transformation Award
Audrina Patridge was determined to make an impact on the red carpet following her fall out with Lauren Conrad, and she successfully accomplished that with her new bangs.

I like her new ‘do, as her head does not appear to be as long and round.

Her navy satin dress is by Lloyd Klein.

Pretty In Pink Award
Liv Tyler wore a cute bubblegum pink Lanvin strapless toga dress with a gathered hem.

She carried a pink clutch, and wore a animal print pair of Louboutin heels.

Best Ruffles Award
Rocker Lucy Walsh just about pulls off this Christian Siriano Fall 2008 halter-neck purple ruffled dress without looking too much like an ostrich.

Best Couple Coordination Award
Paris Hilton and Benji Madden were perfectly coordinated in their black and white ensembles.

Paris wore a strapless Betsey Johnson lace embellished dress, which has a fitted bodice and a bubbled hem.

Keeping It Real Award
Well what did you expect Ellen Page to wear? Boob tube and mini skirt?

Last night she wore a black Suh-tahn leather jacket, black skinny pants and a white Suh-tahn t-shirt.

Best Herve Leger Award
OK, she looks like a blow up doll, but out of all the Herve Leger dresses that were worn last night, I loved the colour of this Adelisa strapless dress.

Best Use Of Colour Award
I love the multi-colours of Emma Stone strapless Blumarine dress. Her navy heels and orange clutch perfectly compliment her dress.

Best Silhouette Award
I love how this cobalt blue asymmetric dress from her own Lauren Conrad Collection, gives Lauren Conrad such a sexy silhouette. I did not know she had this body, as she always wears such loose fitting clothes.

Best Frenemy Award
Stephannie Pratt looks cute in this purple leopard print spaghetti strapped dress, but I am not sure about her sidewalk clutch.

Stephanie is obviously enjoying the benefits of being Lauren’s friend.

Best Bubble Hem Award
There were a lot of bubble hemmed dresses last night. But the uniquely quirky Whitney Port’s red brocade Nicole Miller dress, was by far the most interesting.

I love the contrasting chunky heels, which were interlaced with blue and yellow ribbon.

“Late Show with David Letterman”, New York

Kate Beckinsale has finally dropped the cutesy prom queen look and went ULTRA glam wearing a very flattering Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress

“Seeds of Peace” Event, New York

Bar Refaeli known for her modeling work and mostly for her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio, attended this event wearing a black one-shouldered Gucci Spring 2008 dress with black patent shoes.

“Meet the Browns” Premiere, LA

Angela Bassett is stunning in this white chiffon Jenny Packham gown with circle cutout waist.

She accessorized with the Bella printed silver leather clutch with Swarovski crystal trim and gorgeous drop-earrings.

Head to toe perfection.

ShoWest, Las Vegas

ShoWest’s Vanguard Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker wore a thigh-high Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2008 minidress which makes her appear very short, as the top of the dress balloons outwards.

She accessorized her dress with pearls and nude pumps.

Female Star of the Year Anne Hathaway (no, I don’t know why either) received her award wearing a aubergine Derek Lam Spring 2008 tiered dress with beaded detail on the empire-waist and hem.

Kate Bosworth is another celebrity embracing the transparent trend wearing black satin Alessandro Dell’Acqua Fall 2008 dress with a transparent back and sleeves.

I especially love her Christian Louboutin pointy pumps, with a gold-tone detail on the heel.

America Ferrera opted for a ruffled chocolate brown Angela Sanchez strapless dress with nude peep-toe Jimmy Choo’s, whilst Alexis Bledel opted for a caffé latte shift dress.

America dresses her sexy curves so well.

I only like the top gathered part of this Richard Chai Spring 2008 dress Christina Ricci is wearing, the rest of the dress falls flat for me.

Mango Summer 2008 Collection Photocall, Madrid

Penelope Cruz let her beauty do the talking in this simple ivory sheath dress, with champagne coloured satin shoes.

Monica Cruz is equally, if not more stunning than her older sister in this black playsuit.

It is a shame that their Mango collection does not do them any justice.

“Sleepwalking” Screening, New York

Stunning actress Charlize Theron, wore a gold plunging-neck Christian Dior flapper style dress with gold pair of Jimmy Choo shoes to this event.

I wish more people on the red carpet could do high glamour like this.

Tinsley Mortimer tries very well in this nude tiered Roberto Cavalli Spring 2008 dress with sequined detail.

American Museum of Natural History Winter Dance, New York

I would not expect Anne Hathaway to wear something so bling, but she is dazzling in this asymmetric dripping metallic detailed ice white dress.

“Under The Same Moon” Premiere, LA

Shocker….America Ferrera is not wearing Monique Lhuillier.

To this premiere she wore purple belted Dolce & Gabbana sheath dress, with black patent shoes, looking as beautiful as always.

Kate del Castillo wore her hair big with her black cocktail dress with a fringe skirt and tribal bodice from Jenny Packham’s Spring 2008 collection.

Lauren Conrad Collection, LA

Lauren Conrad wore this black tiered dress of her own design, to her first collection at LA Fashion Week.

The dress is OK, but I feel I have seen this style on Lauren too many times.

Audrina Patridge wore a long strapless turquoise dress by her designer friend, with a very supportive strapless bra.

Lauren’s frienemy, Kristin Cavallari dressed down for the occasion wearing an aqua top and jeans.

Maybe she was hoping to score some free clothes.

Children’s Champs Gala Ball, London

Former Spice Girl and new mother, Emma Bunton took a night of changing diapers to become a yummy mummy for an evening.

She wore a sexy black Alberta Ferretti Fall 2006 dress and a silver pair of Christian Louboutin Bling Bling platforms ♥

Best Dressed/Best Haute Couture Award
This ivory mermaid-like Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008 Couture gown on Marion Cotillard was simply stunning.

I loved the a fishtail hem and the scale-esqe embroidery on the whole gown.

Marion won the Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose.

Her speech was so wonderfully heart-warming, that it brought a small tear to my eye.

Best Red Award
Heidi Klum was better than amazing in this Dior by John Galliano custom-made couture gown.

The neckline and the back detail were all very chic.

She finished her look with Stuart Weitzman shoes and jewelry she designed from her own line.

Heidi’s red couture gown will be auctioned as part of The Heart Truth campaign to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

Best Detailed Dress/Best Earrings Award
There is so much detail on Penelope Cruz’ mermaid dress with the feathers and the gathering at the front, yet it does not make the dress too busy.

I adore her ruby and diamond Chopard earrings.

Best Invisible Make-up Award
I bet it only took Cameron Diaz no more than 20 minutes to get ready, and look how amazing she is.

She arrived at the Oscars in a pink Christian Dior by John Galliano bustier gown, Bulgari jewels, Roger Vivier clutch.

Best Strapless Award
I loved Kristin Chenoweth Armani Privé black silk tulle gown over a rose organza underlay.

It was the only dress that challenged Marion for Best Dressed. I loved the sweetheart neckline and the knotted and pleated tulle details.

Best Sequins Award
Regular readers will know I love a bit of bling, as it all adds to the glamour on the red carpet.

Renee Zellweger was the only one to provided head to toe bling in the form of this stunning strapless Carolina Herrera gown, which I at first thought had to be Elie Saab.

Most Improved From The 2007 Oscars Award
Anne Hathaway need this. She needed a stunning gown to erase the memory of that Valentino bow.

The saviours? Marchesa of course.

She completed her look with Harry Winston diamonds.

I love the with rosette detailing from the bust-line to her shoulder.

Best Strapless Award
Keri Russell’s champagne coloured Nina Ricci strapless dress came to life with an H.Stern vintage floral necklace.

Best Matching Dress/Lipstick Combo Award
Katherine Heigl was stunning in this Escada gown.

I loved the circular detail on her shoulder and nipped in waist.

Her look was very elegant, as she channeled old Hollywood.

Her jewels were from Ryan Ryan and her shoes and clutch were from Jimmy Choo.

Best Pregnant Award
Jessica Alba won the battle of the baby mama’s in this purple Marchesa Fall 2008 gown.

I love the feather detailing on the bust and the aubergine really suits her.

Jessica added some Cartier jewels to finish her look.

Best One-Shouldered Dress/Best Hair Award
There were many one-shoulder gown, but Hilary Swank in Versace Spring 2008 Couture was by far the best in terms of detail.

Her hair was amazing. Perfectly styled and I loved the tints.

Best Vintage Award
Calista Flockhart looked stunning in her 1970s vintage Valentino Haute Couture dress from Rare Vintage. The pale blue and grey colours were very pretty on her.

Best British Award
Were Tilda let us down Helen Mirren did us Brits proud in this custom-made Georges Chakra ruby gown.

Simple Yet Fabulous Award
Amy Ryan was simple and fabulous in this one-shoulder Calvin Klein gown.

Sexiest Couple Award
Johnny Depp in Giorgio Armani and Vanessa Paradis in Chanel Haute Couture with Chanel jewelry are so hot without event trying. Only Brad and Angelina could have upstage this hot couple.

Best Dressed Couple Award
I loved the way Diane Lane in David Meister and Josh Brolin were subtly dressed. They complimented each other well, without resorting to him wearing a tie to match her dress.

Best Necklace Award
Laura Linney was wearing a very simple midnight blue silk strapless bustle-back gown by Michael Kors.

Her stunning Cathy Waterman necklace brings the dress to life.

Laura’s bag and shoes were by Salvatore Feragamo.

Best Plus 1 Award
Keisha Whitaker always shines next to her husband.

The detail on this embellished strapless tulle gown is magnificent.

February 7th, 2008

Marchesa’s Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are red carpet queens and they know just how to create red carpet magic.

The collection they showed on Wednesday was full of drop-dead gorgeous dramatic numbers, although for me it was not as strong as previous seasons.

These ladies are strictly evening gowns and cocktail dresses, so no day-wear here.

The colour palette was mostly black, purple, red and ivory, with the one pale blue one-shouldered gown. Ruffles, rosettes and lace adorned the gowns to enhance the beauty of these creations.

They did not have a runway show, instead models were on blocks, as guests got the chance to walk around the models as though they were mannequins or works of art, taking in all angles of the beautiful gowns.

I especially loved the deep v-neck sequined lapel jumpsuit, and the more dramatic ruffled red carpet gowns.

You can see the whole collection here and here.

Jennifer Lopez will no doubt get more publicity than the dresses for her humongous baby bump. She looks cute enough wearing a silk teal embellished mini Notte by Marchesa dress with a Fendi bag.

Anne Hathaway is wearing a gorgeous peachy pink Marchesa Spring 2008 dress, but it is a shame we can not see it properly as she covered it with her leather jacket.

She poses here with actress Eliza Dushku, who is wearing a black strapless number.

Kate Walsh shows her support for the Marchesa girls wearing a black feathered Notte by Marchesa cocktail dress.

As does Rebecca Gayheart, in a ensemble very similar ensemble to the designer Keren.
