Anna Dello Russo In Christian Dior – Gucci Spring 2014 Menswear Show

Anna Dello Russo In Christian Dior - Gucci Spring 2014 Menswear Show

For the Gucci Spring 2014 menswear runway show in Milan, Italy this afternoon, Anna Dello Russo was centre of attention with yet another stunning, standout look.

Comments range from “fabulous” to “age inappropriate” for her Oscar de la Renta look, but I have a feeling this Christian Dior Spring 2013 frock will just get calls of “fabulous”.

Yes, it is yet another look from the most popular collection since the Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection; however, I have to say I adore this look as much as the first.

It’s the colours of the coral sleeveless uneven-hem dress with pink lining which really brings this look alive, along with the impeccable styling.

Love or loathe her OTTness, you have to admire her love for fashion.

Anna Dello Russo In Oscar de la Renta – Menswear Spring 2014 Milan Fashion Week

Anna Dello Russo In Oscar de la Renta - Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2014 Menswear Show

Yesterday’s Spring 2014 menswear shows in Italy were punctuated by one of fashion’s strongest and zaniest personalities: Anna Dello Russo.

The perennially unpredictable editor-at-large for ‘Vogue’ Japan once again brought her signature brand of wow and whoa to the streets of Milan Fashion Week, stopping traffic in a shocking-pink, strapless top and shorts from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2013 collection.

Always the eccentric maximalist, you could count on Anna to pick up this peppy look with a feather-embroidered top and micro shorts to flaunt her pins. However, her obsession with excess didn’t extend to the runway look’s jewellery belt, which didn’t make the cut here.

Huge and hyper-reflective aqua-tinted shades were another unexpected twist to this flamboyant foray, stealing attention from a black-and-white houndstooth clutch and flirty blue-and-white T-bar Sophia Webster sandals festooned with a ruffled pink bow.

Oh, and don’t think she didn’t plan for potential sartorial naysayers; she crossed out any criticism of her flamingo mini with evil-eye earrings.

Anna Dello Russo added some life to the red carpet at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France on Thursday evening.

The Vogue editor-at-large was one of the few bright sparks on this red carpet, opting for a flamenco style Balenciaga Spring 2013 look which showed off her yoga toned bod to perfection.

We’ve seen this style twice before on the red carpet, but this is the first time it has been worn with conviction.

A Bulgari clutch and jewels completed her look.

Who Wore Saint Laurent Better…Rita Ora or Anna Dello Russo

Rita Ora vs Anna Dello Russo in Saint Laurent

For the Elle Women in Music Celebration last month many of you thought that Rita Ora’s Saint Laurent Spring 2013 tuxedo dress was a tad costumey.

While I see your point, I also think it was a fashion risk that paid off, so I am not surprised to see the ultimate fashion risk taker Anna Dello Russo also wearing the same look, hat and all.

The Vogue Nippon editor-at-large was also at the Vogue Festival this past weekend speaking on her second favourite topic – blogging.

Anna opted for tights and t-bar pumps to Rita’s bare legs and pumps.

I’m going to give this one to Rita. This look is very much expected from Anna, so Rita wins on the element of surprise, plus I prefer the fit, which appears to be much looser on Anna.

Paris Fashion Week Front Row Trend: Black and White

Black and White Celebrity Trend

What’s black and white and seated front row at Paris fashion week?

Celebs, of course.

One of the major trends which reigned supreme at the Spring 2013 shows was black and white, ranging from mod 60s looks at Prada and Louis Vuitton, stripes at Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and Michael Kors, and classic pieces at Chanel, Ralph Lauren and Saint Laurent, with Alexander Wang, Balmain, Narciso Rodriguez, Victoria Beckham, Jil Sander, and Moschino also sending solid, patterned or striped black-and-white looks down the runway.

The celebs who have championed this trend this week were Nicole Richie, who attended both the Stella McCartney and Givenchy shows in black and white, and Jessica Alba, who also rocked the trend at Stella McCartney and Valentino.

Black and White Celebrity Trend2

Chanel’s front row is one place we shouldn’t be surprised to see celebs showcasing this Spring 2013 trend. The elegant Jessica Chastain wore a white ruffled blouse with a pencil skirt, while Milla Jovovich rocked a masculine black-and-white pant look.

Usually one to start trends, Anna Dello Russo also took to the front row at Chanel wearing a playful black-and-white look, which would’ve been better suited to Elle Fanning, methinks.

The best thing about this trend is that it’s easy to wear and affordable. You can rock it with the simplest staples, like vest tops, tees, skirts, pants and dresses.

Stripes might be the hardest look to rock; take it too far and you could end up looking like you are wearing prison stripes.
