Angela Bassett In Missoni – The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Angela Bassett paid a visit to ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ on Tuesday (March 13) in New York City to discuss ‘Black Panther’ and ‘9-1-1.’

The actress put me in a spring mood with her Missoni purple crochet-knit strapless jumpsuit paired with a matching blazer and Casadei shoes.

The blazer kept up the sharp finish that comes with traditional suiting but the knitted fabrics added a louche softness.

The brand is known for its knitwear and the ensemble demonstrates this. The multidimensional effect from the pink and purple tones created a striking effect that added to the casual flare.

Paired with the oversized earrings and curly hair, it was more relaxed take on her glamorous style, but a successful move.

Angela Bassett In Teresa Helbig – 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Angela Bassett also joined the mix at the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday (March 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

I was immediately intrigued by this Teresa Helbig Spring 2017 sequin suit.

She was like an artful, walking mosaic—and she nailed the styling with her strong yet smart accessories including statement earrings, a snake motif Kilian clutch, and Le Silla sandals.

They complemented rather than competed with the colourfully engaging look.

She lost me a bit with the topknot, half-up component of her ’do, as I feel that is where the look stepped into slightly forced territory.

‘A Wrinkle In Time’ LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ on Monday (February 26) brought out the storybook romance in many lovely ladies.

Tessa Thompson: The ‘Westworld actress’ oozed retro elegance in an embellished Miu Miu dress. It’s clear she has considered the entire look, but I must say that the Judith Leiber clutch takes away from the diamantes on the gown. The Irene Neuwirth and David Yurman jewels were more harmonizing.

Tracee Ellis Ross: The ‘Black-ish’ actress was a beauty blooms in a Michael Kors Resort 2018 dress. The pleated style has a romantic fairy tale quality, but her styling gives it a fashion-forward finish. A Tyler Ellis clutch, pale pink boots and her cornrows elevate the look.

Oprah Winfrey: Va-va-voom! The multi-hyphenate looked sensational in a deep blue Atelier Versace number. She may not have gone the princess route, but I don’t think anyone will be complaining about this sultry number.

Angela Bassett In Mangishi Doll Co. – 2018 American Black Film Festival Honors Awards

With ‘Black Panther’ breaking box office records two weeks in a row, Angela Bassett, Queen of Wakanda, was in celebratory mood for the 2018 American Black Film Festival Honors Awards on Sunday (February 25) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a Mangishi Doll Co. dress made of a traditional cloth called Chitenge celebrating history and culture.

A chitenge is an East, West and Central African fabric similar to sarong, often worn by women and wrapped around the chest or waist, over the head as a headscarf, or as a baby sling.

The vibrant dress, which was modernised with faux leather piping and a fringed hem, is ethically crafted in Zambia.

Angela enhanced the look with an orange clutch, chunky gold earrings, matching bangles and an oversized statement ring from Darrell Roach Jewelry; completing her look with a naturally styled hair that Tina Turner would be proud of.

Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ Global Junket Press Conference

After the world premiere, the stars of Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ continued the promo tour with a global junket press conference on Tuesday (January 30) in Beverly Hills, California.

Angela Bassett: Following her glowing fringe moment, the actress switched gears with this Dent de Man Spring 2016 suit from the label named for a mountain in West Africa’s Ivory Coast. This bit of relevance, combined with what was a bold translation of traditional menswear in an all-over batik print, made for such an impactful look.

Danai Gurira: I loved Danai’s world premiere entrance, and even though this Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2018 dress was far more subtle, it was lovely for a press conference. I like the slight fit-and-flare shape as well as the tonal bustier structure to add sophisticated allure to the design.

Lupita Nyong’o: Also offering up a patterned ensemble that took a completely different direction from her regal premiere gown, Lupita looked to the signature prints of designer Mary Katrantzou. The flirty silhouette of this Spring 2018 frock, with its shorter length and kick pleats, offered a sense of youthful exuberance—although it could also be called a bit twee, too. Did you miss the belt?
