Andie Macdowell In Roberto Cavalli Couture – ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Andie Macdowell worked a striking angle for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ on Sunday (May 21).

You may be surprised to learn that this is a Roberto Cavalli Couture design, given the lack of glitz and animal print. However, the thigh-high slit was present and accounted for.

But, I was more interested in the joyous ebullience of the bow-topped bodice in its eye-catching violet hue.

Sure, the black Giuseppe Zanotti pumps were an afterthought, and her gemstone Chopard earrings quickly pulled my gaze away from them.

What I loved most is how much fun Andie seemed to be having while she was on the red carpet in this look.

2017 Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner

There was a sea of Chanel ensembles to be seen and admired from the guests at the Chanel Artists Dinner, hosted on Monday (April 24) during the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Katie Holmes: Despite this being a sheer Chanel look, it manifested a casual, feminine charm. But I think it was Katie’s new, wavy bob along with metallic accessories that worked wonders to keep the look on fresh ground.

Dianna Agron: Classic Chanel tweed was turned on its head in this Spring 2017 ensemble that came alive with a holographic array of hues. The cropped top attempted to counterbalance the looser proportions of the jacket and skirt. I just wish her shoes had been as bold as her fuchsia eyeliner.

Dree Hemingway: Reflecting Dree’s free-spirited style, this Chanel look likewise paid homage to the spirited Gabrielle Coco Chanel herself. Sure, it was a quirky combination with the embellished sweater, girly pink skirt and granny-chic shoes. But, Dree has the presence to pull it off; I just wish she had done something more with her hair and makeup.

Who Wore Bottega Veneta Better? Jessica Brown Findlay or Andie MacDowell?

Jessica Brown Findlay wore a bright orange Bottega Veneta Spring 2017 gown to the 2017 BAFTAs before Andie MacDowell wore it to the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party exactly two weeks later.

It is a gorgeous gown, so I’m not surprised that both ladies were drawn to it.

However, the look infinitely better with the belt, so Andie presentation of this look wins for me

Andie MacDowell In Bottega Veneta – Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party

I was very surprised to see Andie MacDowell wearing this Bottega Veneta Spring 2017 gown to Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (February 26).

Why?

Because Jessica Brown Findlay wore the same gown exactly two weeks ago at the BAFTAs.

The same gown worn during awards season? The only greater faux pas would be wearing it on the same night, no?

My belief has always been there are enough gowns to go around, that there is no need to wear them twice.

Rant aside, this is a gorgeous colour on Andie, and the belt – which Jessica omitted – helps add balance when the shoulder straps are covered by the hair.

At the end of the day, Andie wore it better, so perhaps a second run out wasn’t the end of the world for this dress.

Andie MacDowell In Elie Saab – ‘Inside Out’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Andie MacDowell In Elie Saab - 'Inside Out' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Andie MacDowell attended the ‘Inside Out’ premiere during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Monday (May 18) in Cannes, France.

Having worn a Ralph & Russo beaded Couture gown for her first night on the red carpet, she opted for an Elie Saab beaded Couture gown on her second.

The gown, which hails from the Spring 2015 collection, has the same swirly design we saw on Aishwarya Rai’s gown last night, further proving my point that these style of gowns are slowly merging into one.

I guess when you see them months apart there is a general feeling of excitement. Seeing them night after night on the Cannes red carpet, the fatigue is starting to really creep in.

Andie MacDowell In Ralph & Russo Couture – ‘The Sea Of Trees’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Andie MacDowell In Zuhair Murad - 'The Sea Of Trees' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Andie MacDowell was also at ‘The Sea of Trees’ premiere at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 16) in Cannes, France.

From the flowery lace embroidery to the sheer nude effect and the failed illusion neckline, this Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture gown seemed like old news—no matter how well Andie was wearing it.

It also struck a bridal chord, as well.
