Amy Adams’ Valentino Couture Shanghai Look From The Golden Globe Awards

Amy Adams' Valentino Couture Shanghai Look From The Golden Globe Awards

During the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) some of you spotted Amy Adams wearing a cape with her Valentino Couture gown from the Shanghai collection, while others like myself missed it.

After a sweep of the pictures agencies I found this picture, and I think the gown is even more beautiful with the cape.

Perhaps her team had spotted Lupita’s gown and felt two red capes on the red carpet was too much, or perhaps the star simply intended the cape only for carriage, but for me the look is on another level of brilliance with the cape.

Do you agree?

Amy Adams In Valentino – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Amy Adams graced the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 12) in Beverly Hills, California.

Amy, who was nominated for her role in ‘American Hustle’ wore a gown by Valentino Haute Couture from the Shanghai collection. And despite the Asian influence of the design, Amy’s dress seemed very reminiscent of the 70’s era in which ‘American Hustle’ is set. Maybe she felt some fashion crossover with her character.

The two different hues of red felt modern compared to the traditional red bombshell-style dresses normally seen on the red carpet. Amy’s gown was a mix of sex appeal–hello, plunging neckline!–and ladylike, thanks to the soft demure skirt.

The actress accessorized wisely with Brian Atwood shoes, a long gold chain pendant necklace, and diamond drop earrings.

This is a bit of a departure from Amy’s typical red carpet style. Do you like the change?

Amy Poehler In Stella McCartney – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Amy Poehler In Stella McCartney – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Amy Poehler looked chic on the red carpet of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles this evening (January 12).

For her walk down the red carpet, the comedian and co-host for the evening wore a custom Stella McCartney gown with asymmetrical detailing and Charlotte Olympia shoes.

Amy Poehler usually sticks with fairly subdued gown on the red carpet, so I love that she chose this little black number that seems so simple but has this fun little cut-outs on the seams.

A perfect blowout, nude lips (a huge trend for the night) and flawless skin complete the look.

Amy Adams In Roksanda Ilincic – AFI Awards 2014

Amy Adams In Roksanda Ilincic - AFI Awards 2014

Amy Adams attended the 14th annual AFI Awards Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills this afternoon (January 10).

The ‘American Hustle’ actress wore a simple black dress from Roksanda Ilincic’s Resort 2014 collection.

When I first saw this look, I was disappointed that Amy shied away from the purple print seen on the runway, but she looked so flawless in her LBD, that you can’t fault her for the decision.

The tailoring and styling are perfect on the star, and pointy-toed silver Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps are a fun way to finish the look.

Her lush curls, simple makeup and pink lips round out the perfect luncheon style.

Are you as taken by Amy’s choices as I am?

Amy Adams In Antonio Berardi – W Magazine ‘Best Performances’ Portfolio Celebration

Amy Adams In Antonio Berardi - W Magazine ‘Best Performances’ Portfolio CelebrationAmy Adams was also among the constellation of stars, which included the likes of Allison Williams, Naomie Harris, Lupita Nyong’o and more, at W magazine’s celebration of the ‘Best Performances’ portfolio, hosted at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (January 9).

Looking lovely in lace, the ‘American Hustle’ actress wore an Antonio Berardi Spring 2014 sequin-embroidered, double-breasted trench coat-dress.

It was a sophisticated and ladylike approach, especially when paired with razor-pointed cream heels. But it perhaps wasn’t as youthful and fresh as some recent statements we’ve seen on Amy.

She popped the look with a coral-red lip and a voluminous, centre-parted blowout.

W Magazine’s Movie Issue

W Magazine Movie Issue

W magazine’s ‘Movie’ issue features six different covers chronicling the best films and performances of 2013, including Amy Adams, Oprah, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence (in Dolce & Gabbana), Cate Blanchett and Matthew McConaughey, all of which were captured by Juergen Teller.

The surprising thing about these covers is that Jennifer doesn’t appear to be wearing Dior; that honour was bestowed upon Lupita.

Jennifer shared with the mag that moment when she fell at the 2013 Oscars, saying “I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, ‘Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk’. I thought, ‘Why is ‘cakewalk’ stuck in my head? ’ And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me ‘Kick, walk, kick, walk.’ You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that’s why I fell”.

Which cover will you be picking up?
