Red Carpet Fashion Awards

One person who always brings her ‘A’ game to the red carpet is Amber Heard.

The “Zombieland” actress looked divine on the red carpet at the “Salt” LA premiere last night. In fact she was my best dressed at this event.

She didn’t go for an attention seeking look like Kristin Cavallari. Her look was romantic yet sexy and effortless.

Simple but effective.

Her nude strapless Marchesa lace cocktail dress with empire bow detail was paired with matching Brian Atwood peep-toes and a gold Jimmy Choo ‘Lisa’ clutch.

Amber continues to change her hair colour.

It ranges from platinum blonde to brunette. On this occasion it’s very much in-between.

Amber Heard looked breath-taking when she wore this Christian Dior Spring 2010 gown to the 3rd Annual Art Of Elysium “Heaven” Gala back in January.

I loved the mixture of sheer, patent leather and satin textures, combined with the gown’s overall retro-glam appeal.

She looked every inch like a modern Marilyn Monroe.

Rosie Huntington wore the same gown to the Elle UK Style Awards.

I didn’t like the way Rosie had tied the sheer part of her dress, neither did I appreciate her overtly sexy pouting, so Amber wins for me.

Amber Heard looked gorgeous wearing a white Paule Ka Fall 2009 mini dress to the LA premiere of “Zombieland” back in September last year.

She glows in white with her LA tan and sophisticated up-do.

I’m usually not a  fan of black shoes with a white dress, but I don’t actually mind her Dior Couture Spring 2008 wedges which she paired with a black clutch.

Jennifer Carpenter wore the same dress earlier this year to the SAG Awards in LA.

It’s a great look on her, but the black pumps are way too heavy for this look.

For wearing better shoes and showing some originality Amber wins this one for me.

This is an incredibly long post, so please click ‘read more…’ below to see the rest of the looks from this amazingly well dressed event.

I was starting to lose hope that I would ever see this amazing Marchesa Fall 2009 dress on the red carpet.

Olivia Wilde has fulfilled my wish by looking drop-dead gorgeous wearing the strapless nude suede dress.

I love those embroidered floral details, the complementary taupe clutch and her nude Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps.

I don’t know much about Amber Heard, but I’m really impressed with her on the red carpet and shocked that she always manages to wear such big name designers.

Last night she looked sensational wearing this red Christian Dior Spring 2010 belted gown with a chiffon bodice and a satin skirt.

Since Charlize Theron has been M.I.A. on the red carpet in a while, I guess John Galliano might have been looking for an interim muse.

It’s not often we see 3 great Dior Spring 2010 looks in the space of 2 days.

Miss Dior herself – Marion Cotillard wore Dior to the Critic’s Choice Awards on Friday, then Chloe Sevigny wore Dior to the NY Times Style Magazine’s Pre-Golden Globe Awards Party on Saturday.

It’s always a pleasure to see Camilla Belle on the red carpet.

The actress wore a grey Valentino Spring 2010 dress with a satin bow detail on the hip.

I love the way the cape and skirt fan out.  It would’ve been amazing to watch this dress in motion.

I’m not sure about those stunning heels with the dress, but the heels are divine on their own.

On Friday I was worried that after Apphia Michael wore Viktor & Rolf to the Wallpaper Design Awards, that we would only get to see these pieces from this Spring 2010 collection inside magazines.

Anna Paquin delights us by wearing a strapless pink tulle dress with exaggerated hips.

She also blows my theory that only one of each look was ever made for this collection, as hers is pink to the runway’s grey and blue.

An Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch, Boucheron diamond studs, a Tom Binns necklace and black gladiator heels complete her look. Read more…

Last night Zoe Saldana, Diane Kruger, Anna Kendrick and Julianne Moore all attended this party in the same looks from the Critic’s Choice Awards, so here is a look at what the rest of the guest wore.

I usually don’t go gaga over Chloe Sevigny, but I love her in this Christian Dior Spring 2010 chiffon print dress with flutter sleeves.

Sometimes I think Chloe tries a little too hard to be cool all the time, so I love is that she doesn’t over accesorize the look nor wear a leather jacket with it.

With her thick black tights and strappy peep-toe sandals Sofia Coppola wore a Marc Jacobs tulle rainbow paillette dress from the Resort 2010 collection.

The black tulle overlay dress which we’ve seen on Fergie at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards , is embellished with colorful sequins.

Amber Heard was one of my favourites at this event.

The gorgeous blonde actress wore an Alexander McQueen mini dress from the Fall 2009 collection, which is instantly recognisable by the unique print.

Black peep-toes and a white clutch complete the look.

As usual there’s no daylight between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.

Back up buddy so we can get a better look at Katie’s knitted black Lyell dress which are paired with Givenchy ankle boots.

Katie seems to have a thing for wearing a dress which exposes her bra.

For the preview of the Jason Wu Spring 2010 collection many of Hollywood’s hot young things attended.

Who needs fit models when you have beautiful actresses to show off your collection.

Diane Kruger did a complete 180 from her Narciso Rodriguez look yesterday, as she looks sensational wearing a one-shoulder green and black polka dotted Jason Wu Spring 2010 dress with an asymmetrical hem and crystallized Swarovski elements.

From her hair to the tips of her pedicured feet she is total perfection.

Her dress was accessorized with Roger Vivier heels, a Hunting Season clutch and Eddie Borgo and Tom Binns bracelets.

Jessica Stroup gets back to her best wearing a cute Jason Wu Spring 2010 ensemble including a navy colour block skirt and an ivory pintucked blouse with flutter sleeves.

I love the Sergio Rossi red clutch she carried with her look, and her Sergio Rossi’s purple metallic pumps.

My ‘It’ girl Katie Cassidy was in attendance confirming her style-status.

I much prefer the navy skirt she wore with the cream and grey pattern Jason Wu Spring 2010 look which was paired with Sergio Rossi pumps.

Fabulous as always, and sparkling with Miriam Haskell jewelery.

Despite the few times she has worked as an actress Lily Collins still manages to get invited to these major events.

The teen star wore beautiful Jason Wu Spring 2010 aqua dress with a bubble skirt.

This is a great look and I especially love the red waist belt and the patterned bodice.

What I didn’t like were the Sergio Rossi ankle boots.

Seriously, please can we ditch these ankle boots with everything.

I love Amber Heard’s Spring 2010 look, but I just wish she had worn the gold striped runway sweater which also sparkles with Swarovski elements.

Her look is paired with Miriam Haskell jewelery and navy satin Sergio Rossi slingbacks.
