Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Stuck In A Rut Award
At this point I don’t know what more there is to say about Amanda Bynes.

The poor girl is in desperate need for a style overhaul and that was very clear at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards which was held in LA tonight.

She’s been wearing these Herve Leger bandage dress to nearly ever red carpet event since I started my blog 4 years ago.

Her look is made even worse by those ugly fringed Christian Louboutin ‘On Guard’ heels which have non-surprisingly only been worn by the Kardashian’s.

Don’t get me started on the never changing hairstyle.

Back in April 2008 a less edgy Leighton Meester wore an olive and nude Pencey Cummerbund Dress to the premiere of “Killer Movie” at The 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.

It was very early in her red carpet days and she was still very much trying to find her style, as her dress was paired with white pumps.

Amanda Bynes aka ‘The Queen of LBD’s” wore the same dress in black when she walked the red carpet at the “Cosmopolitan’s Fun Fearless Female Dinner” in LA.

LBD – check
Black pumps – check
Black clutch – check

The only surprising thing here is that she’s not wearing Herve Leger.

Leighton wins of course, no question.

You can buy the black version fromn Shopbop.com for $333.

The Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2010 collection didn’t fail to bring us a stunning presentation of mini dresses.

The highlight for me were the denim pieces, as this is a material Azria hasn’t used before. He also used light jersey fabrics to create the iconic bandage dress, which only clung closer to the models slender figures.

To keep us interested the dresses were tie-dyed, patchworked and crochet. One white dress was slashed immediately reminding me of a similar dress Alexander Wang presented last season.

Models almost took a tumble, but thankfully they didn’t hit the deck.

See Amanda Bynes, a colour other than black works.

The actress had a rare moment of not wearing black to walk the red carpet wearing a blush bandage dress, which she paired with a BCBG Max Azria blazer and Herve Leger Black Snake-Embossed leather sandals.

Mischa Barton was the only one to opt for one of the more interesting runway Herve Leger dresses from the Fall 2009 collection.

Her dress was paired with chained heels which Amanda Bynes also wore and a silver cuff.

Hilary Duff bandage dress hugs her in all the right places.

The LDB is paired with nude pumps and a Goyard clutch.

Worst Dressed Award
Amber Rose wore a snake-print long sleeved jumpsuit.

Enough said.

Most Predictable Award
After sitting front row at the Herve Leger show earlier this afternoon in a pink Herve Leger dress, Amanda Bynes doesn’t let us down.

LBD + Trib Two’s = yawwwwnnnnnn.

Most Ill-Fitting Award
Beyonce Knowles is wearing a pretty dress, but the skirt looks way too tight. The detail on the front is only adding to this problem.

What is it with Britney and Beyonce and this need to wear clothes that just don’t flatter.

Worst Brand Ambassador Award
I know Christopher Kane is really hot right now as we’ve seen similar versions of this black tulle skirt with velvet spiral trim in the past week. But shouldn’t Whitney have used this opportunity to promote her own debut collection she presented just 2 days ago?

Just asking.

It’s Lauren Conrad Collection all over again.

I Tried To Love It, But I Can’t Award
I didn’t like this Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 dress the first time we saw it on the red carpet, and Jennifer Lopez does nothing to change my mind.

I love that she’s not being predictable, but I’ve never liked this dress.

The singer pairs her dress with Christian Louboutin peep-toe lace ankle boots, with a leopard print heel.

Oh The Irony Award
Ashley Greene was the fashion correspondent for the night, which I found totally ironic considering how bad I thought she looked.

She arrived wearing this D&G gold skirt and a black strappy corset with ruffled edges, but later changed into a worse red skirt which bunched up like Beyonce’s.

I also really hated her gold skirt white clutch combo.

Ashley has to be the worst fashion correspondent ever, as she only asked Taylor Lautner what he was wearing despite interviewing Jennifer Lopez and Leighton Meester.

Worst Hair Award
Why do I always get a sense that Lauren Conrad just isn’t trying?

The dress is pretty if you like middle of the road on the red carpet, but the hair is just atrocious.  It ages her dramatically.

Worst Balmain Award
Despite us all laughing at Pink and Shakira’s expense for wearing the same Balmain dress on the red carpet tonight, Pink didn’t do this dress any justice.

For me it makes her look even more boxy.

The BCBG Max Azria Spring 2010 was all about prints, bod-con and asymmetrical dresses.

We were presented with vivid colours, geometric colour blocking, draping, black chiffon overlays and embellishments.

There were a lot of pieces wrapped or draped with chiffon which added a sexy edge to the collection as this fabric covered most of the peek-a-boo cut-outs.

I’ll imagine the bod-con dresses will be very popular with young Hollywood, but there was something for everyone from the daytime dresses to the sexy mini dress to the evening gowns.

The collection was as expected was youthful, sexy and fabulous.

You will be surprised to know that you can ALREADY shop this collection.

BCBG have capitalised on the fact that when we see it on the runway, we want it now. Not 6 months down the line.

Go to BCBG Max Azria’s website to shop this collection.

I didn’t spot Amanda Bynes at the show, and I was deeply disappointed as I would’ve seriously asked her ‘what gives’ with the ‘Never Changing Hair and LBDs’.

Yes I would have seriously asked her, in a really polite way of course. Especially when she would have had a wealth of free dresses to pick from for this show, yet she still opted for ANOTHER LBD. *bangs head against Starbucks table*

I hope she’s at the Herve Leger show because I HAVE to speak to her. It’s my fashion week mission.

It’s rare that I find any woman taller than me, but Keri Hilson was.

Not only that but she is BEAU-TI-FUL. I never noticed until today.

Pictures do not do this girl justice because I was in awe.

The singer was wearing a BCBG ensemble paired with camel heels and an outstanding statement necklace.

I think I have a new girl crush.

I do like this chartreuse BCBG Max Azria Fall 2009 dress, but I preferred it on the runway to Lynn Collins.

Click here to see who else was at the show.

If you have been following me on Twitter, you would’ve seen my post on Anna Wintour who I saw as she made her way into the BCBG show whilst I queued.

The editor-in-chief of Vogue was of course wearing Prada.

Svedka Adult Playground Presents Brent Bolthouse Photography Exhibit, LA

I said to myself last week that Kim Kardashian’s lighter locks would grow on me, but it hasn’t yet. I still really dislike the look.

At this event she wore an Alexander Wang denim corset top with a black mini skirt, oversized blazer and black pumps.

Like the look, hate the hair.

Nicky Hilton is getting a lot of wear out of her Christian Louboutin Very Prive studded peep-toe pumps which she pairs with a cute floral Topshop dress.

Rumor Willis Celebrates Her 21st Birthday at TAO, Las Vegas

For once I don’t hate Rumer Willis look – although I’m not crazy about her shoe choice – but I love her silver mini sparkling Toni Maticevski dress.

I was confident if she dyed her hair back to its original dark colour this would improve her overall look, and it shows here.

Audrina Patridge helped celebrate Rumer’s 21st birthday.

She arrived wearing a micro LBD from Alice + Olivia like only she can, with predictable black peep-toes.

Catalyst at Terranea Resort, LA

AnnaLynne McCord paired a pink layered tank with black pants and sexy black t-bar heels with gold trims.

Camille Guaty looked really cute wearing a ultra girlie Jill Stuart strapless floral dress which she accessorized with a chunky gold necklace and gold strappy Jimmy Choo sandals.

It looks like Victoria Beckham isn’t the only ex-Spice Girl to become stale.

Melanie Brown is wearing a Herve Leger dress which Sophia Bush and Leona Lewis wore a year ago with snake-skin Christian Louboutin Differa sandals.

The TAG Heuer Cocktail Reception, Toronto

With a blue and grey sleeved Thuy Fall 2009 dress, Maria Sharapova wore her favourite Coe Haan heels whilst carrying a gold clutch.

Boa Restuarant, LA

Even off the red carpet Amanda Bynes still opts for LBDs to go dinner with friends.

The fact that both her heels and clutch are not black, is a step in the right direction.

Playhouse nightclub, Las Vegas

Aubrey O’Day wore a multi-coloured striped Herve Leger Fall 2008 dress with ivory Christian Louboutin Differa sandals.

I do like her dress mostly because of the colour, but also because she’s not spilling out of it.
