Breakout Star of 2015 – Alicia Vikander

Breakout Star of 2015 - Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander is your Breakout Star of 2015. The Swedish actress has quietly been making waves as she refines her red-carpet style, now garnering the attention that her signature looks deserve.

As a Louis Vuitton ambassador, she’s managed the brand quite well—a rarity it seems among, ahem, certain other starlets whose designer matches have left something to be desired.

Part of the secret sauce must be in the variety of Vuitton looks that she debuts—crossing the style spectrum from a charming, period-inspired ruffle gown to the height of modern elegance with a hint of edge in a white, belted design.

This is one ambassadorship that is never dull.

But, even when she’s not dressed in LV, ‘The Danish Girl’ star still impresses. Her Victoria Beckham asymmetrical black gown proves exactly why.

Alicia Vikander joined co-star Eddie Redmayne for the premiere of ‘The Danish Girl’ on Tuesday (December 8) in London, England.

Unlike Jennifer Connelly, I’m always excited to see Alicia’s next Louis Vuitton look, as she serves up something different and enticing every time; and usually something that hasn’t been presented on the runway.

On this occasion I’m captivated by the meticulously crafted embellished bodice of this sleek column dress. I also love how the lean, clean-lined silhouette presents a modern and sophisticated look.

Moet British Independent Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Moet British Independent Film Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick look at a few more celebs who joined Carey Mulligan and Marion Cotillard for the 2015 British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate Market on Sunday (December 6) in London, England.

Laura Carmichael: The ‘Downton Abbey’ actress wore a Christopher Kane dress with a trio of silhouettes which glow softly against this black sleeveless velvet mini dress. Styled with an Anya Hindmarch ‘Crisp Packet’ clutch and black sandals, I continue to be excited by Laura’s red carpet looks. Words I thought I would never say a year ago. You may remember that Rowan Blanchard wore this to a Teen Vogue event.

Gemma Chan: The British actress served up contemporary elegance wearing a Roland Mouret gown which I love for the impeccably tailoring and bright blue hue.

Alicia Vikander: The actress wore a beautiful custom Louis Vuitton crystal accented gown styled with LV sandals and a Fine Jewelry ring. Such a shame about the lacklustre makeup.

Alicia Vikander attended the premiere of ‘The Danish Girl’ commemorating the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance at the United States Navy Memorial on Tuesday (November 23) in Washington, DC.

Usually decked out in Louis Vuitton, the actress opted to indulge in the wintry comfort of this fine knit Victoria Beckham Spring 2016 look.

Imbued with refined-meets-relaxed aesthetic, the minimalistic look was styled with matching cream pumps and a monogrammed Louis Vuitton shoulder bag.

‘The Danish Girl’ LA Premiere

A trio of girls took to the red carpet for ‘The Danish Girl’ premiere at Westwood Village Theatre on Saturday (November 21) in Westwood, California.

Alicia Vikander: Naturally, the actress was dressed in a Louis Vuitton ensemble, this one hailing from the Spring 2016 collection. Despite the more serious, gray-toned hues, there was a sense of light boho romance in this embroidered peasant dress, which she wore with Ana Khouri jewels. It may not be the first type of dress you think of when it comes to a premiere, but it was lovely for its effortlessness.

Amber Heard: Exploring the sultry side of androgyny, Amber donned a floral-embossed Dolce & Gabbana black suit with Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ pumps, balancing feminine and masculine intrigue.

Holland Roden: Also going the route of the trouser, Holland added the boldness of an eye-catching pattern in this graphically inspired Edeline Lee Fall 2014 ensemble. The minidress top worn over the pants added a girly, fun spirit to the mod mix, which she finished with a sleek ponytail.
