Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Ashley Benson hit the press trail for her film ‘Spring Breakers’ during the 2012 Toronto Film Festival yesterday.

For the photocall, the actress chose a nude-and-black dress by Jade Godfrey. This was followed by a Dolce & Gabbana gown for the premiere.

Seeing these two photographs together, I’m reminded of the scene in Cinderella where the Fairy Godmother waves her wand and turns Cinder’s dour day dress into a concoction fit for a prince.

After all, the tones are similar and all that’s been done to the hair is a new side parting.

That’s not to say I dislike the Jay Godfrey dress, I’m just not that excited by it. The Dolce & Gabbana gown, however, works much better.

Abbie Cornish was a woman in red at the premiere of ‘Seven Psychopaths’ at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival last night.

The Australian actress chose the striking gown from the Giulietta Spring 2012 collection.

Abbie’s never been one to shy away from the camera – or revealing her curves – so this dress comes as no surprise.

She’s paired it with a cute McQueen clutch, but cream probably wasn’t the best choice. Neither was the long blonde braid as it accentuates rather than balances the plunge neckline.

The yellow gold Lorraine Schwartz jewellery, however, makes a beautiful addition.

Aldo ‘Kaprisha’ flats completed the look.

Selena Gomez attended the ‘Spring Breakers’ premiere during the Toronto Film Festival last night.

The actress chose a Marchesa Spring 2012 oyster illusion dress with scale-like embroidery and draped cascade tulle skirt for her trip down carpet.

This look is quite a departure from the leopard-print sheath she was spotted in earlier in the day.

While there is a lot going on, I think she’s confident enough to pull it off.

I love the intricate details on the bodice.

The hair and make-up are pretty, and the Jimmy Choo ‘Calista Glitter’ clutch is a red carpet winner.

Jennifer Garner stepped out to support husband Ben Affleck for the premiere of his latest movie ‘Argo’, during the 2012 Toronto Film Festival last night.

The actress wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2012 cocktail dress, which she paired with a Brian Atwood black satin and Swarovski ‘Yvesse’ pumps, Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and Bottega Veneta clutch.

Although on paper this is not an overly exciting ensemble, it really suits Jennifer. The detailed bodice skims her curves while the skirt elongates her body. The red manicure is classic as are the shoes.

Neutural makeup and a side bun complete her look.

Vanessa Hudgens walked the red carpet once again for the premiere of the latest movie ‘Spring Breakers’, during the Toronto Film Festival yesterday evening.

For the event, the jetsetting actress opted for a Notte by Marchesa gown.

Finally, after days of neutrals and black and white ensembles, a pop of colour from Vanessa. Although the dress does clash with the red carpet, it looks great with her skin tone.

The accessories are beautiful too – I love the contrast of the animal-print clutch against the gown, and the Jimmy Choo Greta lamé-covered suede sandals are gorgeous.

Elle Fanning suited up for the ‘Ginger & Rosa’ premiere at the 2012 Toronto Film Festival.

For the event, the actress chose a trouser suit from the Miu Miu Fall 2012 collection.

The more I look at Elle in this outfit, the more I like it.

Sure she may be referencing The Joker from ‘Batman’ or (god forbid) Austin Powers, but she’s young and quirky and now’s the time to experiment.

I am grateful though, that she didn’t add the tie or eye makeup pictured in the runway look.

Instead Elle finished her ensemble with with long blonde locks, platform lace-ups and a dewy glow.
