Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Alexa Chung joined a host of celebs who walked the red carpet at Center 548 last night for the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards in New York City.

Once again I find myself liking an Alexa Chung look – I must be coming down with something.

Like Cody Horn, Alexa also selected a look from the Thakoon Spring 2013 collection.

She wore a light blue floral knit pullover with a white chiffon layered shirt dress featuring clear paillettes which covered the skirt.

I think what I like most about this look, apart from the effort she made on styling her hair, are the pops of red via her lips and Tabitha Simmons ‘Ruby’ bow-accented ankle strap heels.

A Louis Vuitton clutch completed her look.

Versace opened a new boutique in Soho, New York, yesterday evening and Donatella Versace invited along her favourite celebs and supermodels to celebrate the occasion.

Jennifer Hudson: The singer was my favourite at this event. She wore a chic black flared leather skirt with cross details from the Versace Fall 2012 collection paired with a black turtleneck with Swarovski crystals. What I love most about this look is the orange coat with chainmail inserts and that gorgeous smile. A simple side-parted bun and black knee-high Versace boots from the Fall 2012 collection completed her look.

Alexa Chung: I never had Alexa down as a Versace girl, so I’m not surprised that she opted for the more youthful and edgier Versus collection. I love burgundy, so I’m mildly obsessed with her burgundy knit turtleneck top paired with a matching leather mini skirt from the Versus Fall 2012 collection. You’ll be surprised to learn I have no complaints about this look. No, not even her hair.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: The modern princess opted for a sexy, simple, yet chic look donning a Versace cashmere coat with leather inserts, paired with over-the-knee leather Versace gold toe-cap boots. The only pop of colour came via her red lips. Read more…

Alexa Chung hosted the launch party for the Foundry Store on Thursday in California.

The British TV host Alexa is wearing a Lover ‘Millie’ lace dress from the Fall 2012 collection.

Her taupe long-sleeved dress has a cute whimsical feel to it, but why that crochet bag again?

I gave it a pass last time out, but on this occasion it has grown tired for me and isn’t very complementary considering she opted for gold metallic flats.

One day I will like an Alexa look from head to toe. I’m not sure it will be anytime soon, but let’s just wait and see.

Alexa Chung sipped cocktails and enjoyed Dita Von Teese’s performance in New York City on Monday night at the ‘La Maison Cointreau’ launch.

The British TV star kept her look quite mute wearing a black shirt with grey Topshop dungarees.

Dungarees don’t always conjure up the most fashion-forward images, but this look is simple and chic.

Her beloved Charlotte Olympia ‘Kitty’ pumps and a bold red lip colour completed her look.

If only she would sort out her hair.

Alexa Chung attended Glamour Presents ‘These Girls’ at Joe’s Pub in New York City recently.

The British TV host donned a Topshop dress for the occasion.

Her black chiffon dress with red-and-white floral embroidery was styled with black tights and black velvet heels.

She accessorized her look with a crochet Topshop bag which we saw her carrying around this summer.

Barely there makeup and a simple ponytail with side-sweeping bangs provided the finishing touches.

Alexa Chung attended the celebration of Chanel Fine Jewelry’s 80th anniversary of the ‘Bijoux De Diamants’ collection created by Gabrielle Chanel in New York City yesterday evening.

She wore a dainty cream dress from the Chanel Resort 2013 collection, with a voluminous skirt plus delicate floral embroidery on the bodice and cuffs.

As much as I love Alexa’s dress, I am always prepared to dislike her hair, her shoes, or both.

On this occasion it is the hair, which looks so straggly and of course unbrushed.

Her makeup, however, is beautiful and I love her Tabitha Simmons pumps.

Chanel diamond-encrusted earrings and a cocktail ring completed her look.
