Alexa Chung In Louis Vuitton - 2013 Whitney Gala

Alexa Chung enjoyed a second night out in a row for the Louis Vuitton 2013 Whitney Gala held at Skylight at Moynihan Station in New York City yesterday evening.

The presenter’s Louis Vuitton look felt very casual for a gala.

She teamed a black sleeveless top accented with a velvet ribbon with a grey dual-printed mini skirt, styled with a Louis Vuitton ‘Catalina BB’ bag in a rose-pink hue and black pumps.

While the overall look doesn’t feel dressy enough for a gala, I do love her hair and makeup.

Alexa Chung In Christopher Kane - 30th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars

Alexa Chung presented the ‘Fashion Star’ award to Christopher Kane during the 30th Annual Night Of Stars presented by The Fashion Group International at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City yesterday evening.

She was, of course, wearing said designer, selecting a black suit from his Spring 2014 collection which featured jewelled details accenting the waist and holding up the hem of the blazer for a refreshing twist on a classic look.

Opting for feminine footwear, she styled the look with black sandals, with copper eye makeup enhancing her green eyes, and a soft-pink lip colour and wavy tresses rounding out her look.

Alexa Chung Flare November 2013

Alexa Chung graces the cover of Flare’s November 2013 issue, shot by Jason Kim, wearing an Erdem lace-accented magenta dress with black Ralph Lauren Collection heels.
In the rest of her editorial she wears J Crew, Chanel, Burberry Prorsum, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and in one shot she dons the Valentino T-bar pumps that were the fashion pack’s favourite during Fashion Week.

The Brit TV host and model drops the F bomb a few times when opening up to the mag about everything from dating in New York City to her love life and her upcoming 30th birthday.

Here are a few extracts from her interview.

On dating in New York City: “There’s a richness of incredibly intelligent, talented and f*cking interesting women in New York and far fewer men… I’m always helping out girlfriends and then I’m wondering, who’s going to look after me? But it’s because I seem like I have my shit together. That’s not necessarily the case.”

On her love life: “I’m a serial monogamist. I can’t just casually sleep with boys. It’s just not for me. Call me old-fashioned. I don’t sleep with people I don’t find interesting, or whose brain isn’t the main turn-on for me. It’s not like I just get all, ‘Oh, he’s fit.’ It’s often there’s a deeper connection, so it just means it lasts a bit longer.”

On her type: “Rock stars! It’s becoming a f*cking joke at this point.” Read more…

Front Row @ Erdem

London’s It girls took to the front row of Erdem’s Spring 2014 collection to see what lace-accented floral delights the designer had in store for us this time, with one PYT sticking out like a sore thumb.

Alexa Chung: The DJ didn’t appear to get the floral or lace memo, opting for a cosy Topshop knit sweater (which I have in pink) styled with a leather mini skirt, ankle boots and a Burberry Fall 2013 clutch. While she might not have towed the line with the dress code, the look is very much in tune with her style.

Poppy Delevingne: The socialite donned funky crystal-accented DSquared2 shades while wearing a pretty white frock with colourful floral appliqués from Erdem’s Resort 2014 collection which she styled with black pumps. While the footwear wouldn’t have been my first choice, they coordinate well with the black trims on her dress.

Pixie Geldof: I saw the socialite several times yesterday. While she changed her dress for each show – here she’s wearing an Erdem Pre-Fall 2013 floral frock – she did not part with her trusted Dolce & Gabbana animal-print clutch, or her burgundy booties showcased during Christopher Kane’s Fall 2013 collection.

Daisy Lowe: The model channeled her inner Courtney Love, styling her pretty white lace Erdem Resort 2014 frock with workman-like lace-up boots, with black Prada Heritage cat eye sunglasses and a Miu Miu ‘Bowling’ bag completing her look.

Burberry Front Row

Burberry Prorsum’s pretty, English rose-themed Spring 2014 collection debuted today at Kensington Gardens during London Fashion Week. There were plenty of PYTs, and even a particular One Direction boy, who crowded the front row for the cheerful runway action.

Sienna Miller: Fully embracing the fall season, the Burberry-clad actress, who appears in the label’s Fall 2013 campaign, showed us how the midriff trend might transition to colder temps.  Her fuzzy, forest-green cropped jacket was matched to the slimmer silhouette of a classic pencil skirt in a similar tonal shade. Embellished sandals and a baby-blue clutch didn’t fit in as seamlessly as I would have liked.

Naomie Harris: Sleek and effortless, the actress wore a buttery-yellow sheath dress from the Burberry Resort 2014 collection. Accessorizing with black ankle-strap sandals and a mini-clutch, along with straight locks, she proved that simple is sometimes best.

Paloma Faith: The British singer-songwriter paid homage to the Burberry label with her Fall 2013 goldenrod trench and rubberized skirt, which she paired with a mahogany pumps and studded bag. Of course, all eyes were also on her flame-red curls, which always add an exclamation point to each of her outings.

Front Row @ Mulberry Spring 2014

Mulberry-clad, front-row mavens all gathered on Sunday to see the label’s Spring 2014 collection at Claridges Hotel during London Fashion Week in England.

Alexa Chung: The DJ donned a conservative Mulberry dropped-waist, white button-down dress, accessorized with a black sweater of her shoulders, along with ‘Lizzie’ black wedges and an olive ‘Alexa’ bag, all from the Spring 2014 collection.

Brit Marling: A sporty-chic Brit posed in a black biker jacket, dotty blouse and the ‘Lizzie’ pencil skirt, matched with the same ‘Lizzie’ black shoes worn by Alexa, which all hailed from Spring 2014. The polished white ‘Suffolk’ handbag, also from Spring 2014, as well as long blonde waves, finished the look with an air of sophistication.

Lea Seydoux: The French actress was also decked in the Spring 2014 collection, with her black ‘Betsey’ coat, the ‘School’ ballet-pink printed shirt and ‘Lizzie’ ballet-pink skirt, paired with pumps and the oversized ‘Clemmie’ clutch in a matching blush-nude shade. Nearly nude makeup and a simple centre-parted bob completed the look.
