Alexa Chung In Nina Ricci – 2014 Met Gala

Alexa Chung In Nina Ricci - 2014 Met Gala

Alexa Chung attended the ‘Charles James: Beyond Fashion’ Costume Institute Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 5) in New York City.

Surprisingly, she didn’t wear her go-to designers Christopher Kane or Erdem, selecting a Nina Ricci piece instead.

I was also surprised to see her wearing a gown because, as you know, she loves to keep it short and sweet.

The blue-grey silk-radzimir strapless gown accented with bow detailing down the front was also a rare homerun for Alexa.

While the silver embellished clutch was the perfect accessory, I can’t get on board with the black pumps with gold-studded toecaps.

I’m picturing silver sandals with this gorgeous look in my mind’s eye.

Alexa Chung In Calvin Klein – FIT’s The Future Of Fashion Runway Show

Alexa Chung In Calvin Klein - FIT's The Future Of Fashion Runway Show

Alexa Chung attended FIT’s The Future Of Fashion runway show held at The Fashion Institute of Technology on Thursday (May 1) in New York City.

The British TV host wore a simple ecru Calvin Klein Pre-Fall 2014 tunic dress, which many of us would wear as a sweater.

Micro-mini doesn’t quite cover it, but Alexa has the long legs to pull it off.

Styled with a grey fedora, black sandals and her can’t-leave-home-without Dolce & Gabbana ‘Agata’ top-handle bag, she completed her look with neutral makeup.

Who Wore Miu Miu Better…Lea Seydoux or Alexa Chung?

Who Wore Miu Miu Better Lea Seydoux or Alexa Chung

Lea Seydoux wore a Miu Miu Spring 2014 printed dress while attending the nominations photocall for the EE Rising Star award back in January.

You guys loved this look, which she styled with mint-green Miu Miu pumps, that many of you have this on your BDOTY list.

Alexa Chung wore the same dress last month to the Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition screening of short film ‘Spark & Light,’ styling the look with a salmon-coloured bag and black booties.

Styling wise, Lea’s is far superior and more complementary, so the French beauty wins for me.

Alexa Chung In Valentino – International Woolmark Prize

Alexa Chung In Valentino - International Woolmark Prize

Alongside style legends Frida Giannini and Franca Sozzani, Alexa Chung turned judge during Milan Fashion Week as she and other fashion stars chose the winner of the hotly anticipated 2014 International Woolmark Prize.

Wearing a Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 cape dress cut across her shoulders and printed with intricate butterflies, the look was a refreshing update on Alexa’s usual preppy feminine style and I thought it was great to see her try new prints.

Typically, Alexa’s styling was minimal but it was great to see her hair blow-dried and her signature lick of eyeliner complemented the 60s feel of the dress.

To finish, Alexa chose a pair of nude strappy suede pumps. While they ensure the cape isn’t over-styled, to me the colour is just wrong. A pair of black and maroon pumps would have been so much more in-keeping and would have added an extra dimension to this look which I think it really needs. Do you agree?

Alexa Chung In Miu Miu - Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition -’Spark & Light’ Screening

Alexa Chung attended the Miu Miu Women’s Tales 7th Edition screening of short film ‘Spark & Light’ held at Diamond Horseshoe on Tuesday (February 11) in New York City.

Leaving her Dolce & Gabbana ‘Agata’ bag and Charlotte Olympia ‘Kitty’ flats at home for a refreshing change, the British TV presenter wore a Miu Miu Spring 2014 floral-print long-sleeved high-neck frock.

You may remember that Lea Seydoux wore this same dress last month. You guys love it so much that some have added it to their BDOTY list.

As pretty as the dress is on Alexa, the styling is uninspired. With such a bold print, I wouldn’t have selected that pink snakeskin bag, which is fighting for attention.

Also, black Fall boots with a light summery dress is always a no-no in my book.

Peter Pilotto For Target Launch

Peter Pilotto For Target Launch

The Peter Pilotto for Target launch event took place in New York City on Thursday (February 6). Having seen the collection up close myself at a dinner party hosted by Net-A-Porter.com (who will be carrying the entire line) in London last week, I was excited to see some of our favourite stars wearing the pieces.

As you would expect, all the pieces feature prints, which is very much the design duo’s signature.

Diane Kruger: The German actress worked a lace-sleeve printed blouse and step-hem skirt striped-and-floral-print ensemble with great aplomb. Having seen Diane master this look, which she styled with a Charlotte Olympia clutch and black ankle-strap pumps, I will be adding these two pieces to my collection of Peter Pilotto for Target pieces I already own.

Taylor Schilling: The blonde actress is wearing the same Peter Pilotto for Target lace-sleeve dual-floral-print dress that I own. You won’t be surprised to learn that I will not be styling mine with black pumps.

Alexa Chung In Topshop – Hugo’s

Alexa Chung In Topshop - Hugo

Alexa Chung was spotted out with friend Pixie Geldof headed to Hugo’s in LA to grab some lunch on Friday (January 31).

Sporting scabby knees, the TV personality wore a three-quarter-length-sleeved black-and-white gingham Topshop smock dress.

Perhaps it was a mild day, as Alexa styled her look with a heavy black wool blazer, with her favourite accessories rounding out her look including her Dolce & Gabbana ‘Agata’ bag and Charlotte Olympia ‘Kitty’ flats.

Signature purposely messy tresses and a bold red lip provided the finishing touches.
