Canon's Project Imaginat10n Film Festival

Canon’s Project Imaginat10n Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall in New York City was something of a Marchesa fest yesterday evening.

Georgina Chapman: Led by the designer herself, Georgina wore a black Fall 2013 fitted column-style Marchesa tulle cocktail dress with all-over floral embroidery and draped off-shoulder sleeves styled with signature accessories: Christian Louboutin pumps and a Marchesa quartz-clasp clutch. A half-up half-down hairdo perfected this romantic look.

Eva Longoria: As always, I gave a big sigh before writing out a critique for Eva Longoria. What she gives via her lush Marchesa raspberry strapless cocktail dress with 3D silk ribbon roses and bugle-bead twine embroidery along the neckline, she takes away with the oversized floral-print Marchesa envelope clutch.

Dree Hemingway: The model had no such issue, looking heavenly wearing a pale-blue slip dress with asymmetrical organza ruffles with a pale-blue organza collared tee shirt overlay. Opting to go matchy-matchy with the Marchesa clutch and glitter sandals, she added a vampy rouge lip colour to her stunning look.

Abigail Spencer: Rounding out a quartet of dames in Marchesa cocktail dresses, the ‘Suits’ actress wore a red strapless fitted frock with tonal French-knot and chenille threadwork embroidery, which she also styled with a Marchesa clutch, and white pumps to ensure the trend doesn’t die.

I do love each of the looks; it’s such a shame Eva’s styling let the side down, but 3 out of 4 ain’t bad.

2013 Critics’ Choice Television Awards Round Up 1

Here is a roundup of the rest of the attendees at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Television Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California on Monday.

Miranda Cosgrove: Embracing the summer season, the actress opted for a girlie Lela Rose lilac frock with perforations and a pleated skirt, which she styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Tali’ heels and a light-pink lip colour.

Sarah Paulson: The actress, who took home the Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series for ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’, wore a pretty Carolina Herrera nude lace-accented dress with a delightful pop of colour via her fuchsia-pink Casadei pumps.

Maria Menounos: The TV presenter always dresses like an A-list actress and this stunning teal Notte by Marchesa gown is no exception. A half-up, half-down bouffant and Dana Rebecca Designs jewels completed her gorgeous look.

Coach Event 1

A bright crop of starlets turned out for the third annual Coach cocktail party and shopping event to benefit the Children’s Defense Fund, hosted by ‘Star Trek’ movie producer-director J.J. Abrams on the rooftop of his Bad Robot production company in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday. Coach clutches, handbags and totes proved to be the night’s hottest accessory, as many PYTs no doubt plucked up a new purse for their collections.

Chloe Sevigny: Always one to keep us guessing, the actress went for a rather girly approach in this printed Balenciaga dress that immediately had me wanting to fix that lopsided black bow at the waist. I also couldn’t get past the white tongue flap on those Balenciaga peep-toe shoes—or their mauve-purple colour that clashed with her coral-pink Coach clutch. An orange lippie proved another dissonant tone, although it matched the logo behind her.

Abigail Spencer: Donning a creamy DKNY Spring 2013 dress, the actress was chic and polished. She prevented sartorial boredom with a fuchsia handbag and melon-hued ankle-strap sandals. Loose waves and a glowing complexion finished off this breezy look.

Kate Mara: The ‘House of Cards’ star mixed masculine and feminine, showing a flash of skin in a Vena Cava sheer crop top with ruffled sleeve paired with black Parker peg pants and Brian Atwood’s ‘Wagner’ peep-toe heels. A Dannijo necklace was well-placed and added just the right amount of sparkle.

Back in July you crowned Bianca Balti best dressed of the week wearing a Fendi Resort 2013 look which she wore to officially open the ‘Bianca Balti: Scenes From A Fashion Fairy Tale’ exhibition at Mercati Di Traiano in Rome, Italy.

The look was a mash-up of a bi-colour yellow-and-navy blue dress with a colourful printed skirt, which she styled with Fendi ankle-strap pumps, barely there makeup and a simple ponytail.

Abigail Spencer wore part of the same look when she attended the Fendi Baguettemania event which celebrated 15 years of the baguette at Maxfield, LA, earlier this month.

The actress opted to brighten up the yellow-and-navy Fendi dress via a chic, colourful Fendi baguette, plus she added taupe pumps to her look.

I love the look both ways, but for that added touch of creativity I have to give this win to Bianca.

Here are the rest of the looks from the 2012 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala.

Jennifer Morrison: The ‘Once Upon A Time’ actress wore a Kaufmanfranco Fall 2011 gown. Her sexy black gown had a high neckline, but plunged very low at the back. A low ponytail and a black karung Ferragamo minaudière completed her look.

Abigail Spencer: The ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ actress wore a Lela Rose black gown with sparkling crystal embellishments. She added Marina B jewels and gothic-like makeup. I like that she tried something different makeup wise, but I find it too dark and heavy.
