Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Abigail Breslin joined co-stars Lea Michele and Hilary Swank on the red carpet for the ‘New Year’s Eve’ LA premiere last night.

When I look at her in this Marchesa Fall 2011 dress it makes me ask, ‘What happened to Marchesa?’

I have failed to really love a Marchesa look on the red carpet for a while now and this is no exception.

The white tulle corset dress with crystal beaded details from the waist down just looks unfinished, untidy and, dare I say, sloppy as its initial charm is lost on the red carpet.

This a huge shame for Abigail as she finally nailed her hair and makeup on this occasion.

Jimmy Choo pumps completed her look.

Abigail Breslin was in New York City last night for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Janie Jones’.

She donned a blinding neon-yellow Nanette Lepore Spring 2012 look fresh off the runway.

Well, actually looking at the runway, the blazer and pleated skirt don’t appear to be neon-yellow – more like lemon – but the photographer’s flash has made it appear harsher on the red carpet.

It was always going to be hard to accessorize this look and find the right lip colour, and that has proven to be the case.

The berry lip colour and pumps say fall, whilst the ensemble says spring. The mixed messages are just darn confusing.

Whilst it was a very cute look on the runway, it doesn’t work for me on the red carpet.

Here are the rest of the red carpet looks from Elle’s 18th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute which took place last night in LA.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress channelled this season’s androgyny trend wearing a classic Bocanegra pant suit with a feminine twist which comes courtesy of a lace top under her jacket. I love the emerald Irene Neuwirth earrings, but I’m not loving the exposed bra too much.

Amber Heard: Unfortunately the only thing I like about Amber’s look on this occasion is the pink Calvin Klein dress. Her makeup is considerably paler than the last time out, the lip colour is too dark for her petal pink dress and those Calvin Klein grey pumps are just ugly. All good runs must come to an end.

Jayma Mays: Opted for a very glamorous look by donning a gorgeous Malandrino gown. The sea-blue silk chiffon one-ruffled-shoulder gown was teamed with a black Hoss clutch and David Yurman jewels.

Abigail Breslin wore an Alice + Olivia Dawn jumpsuit to the “Janie Jones” Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival back in April.

The young star wore the look with a printed clutch, a delicate necklace and a pair of diamond earrings.

She opted for smoky eyeshadow and pink lips and wore her hair in loose ponytail.

AnnaLynne McCord wore the same jumpsuit a few days later to the 26th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards in New York.

The “90210″ star looked beautiful in her outfit which comes with a snakeskin belt and added a tribal-style necklace.

She wore her hair in a Seventies-inspired centre part with soft waves and her makeup fresh and glowing.

Unfortunately, the jumpsuit is way too big for Abigail and the pants needed to be hemmed by a lot for this to look good on her.

The top part of the jumpsuit has also lost its shape on her tiny frame. I also would have preferred a different hairstyle to the one Abigail picked.

For me there is no competition and my vote is going to AnnaLynne.

You can shop their Alice + Olivia jumpsuit from Singer22.

Abigail Breslin celebrated her 15th birthday by attending the 2011 Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party in New York City last night.

These teen actresses are growing up so fast. *feels old*

Abigail started off wearing cute Betsy Johnson dresses, now she’s graduated onto Notte by Marchesa.

I loved the embroidered bodice details on her red chiffon empire-waist gown with cap sleeves. She looks so grown up.

The newly blonde birthday girl added a silver clutch to her look.

I’m not crazy about the eye make-up, but she looks beautiful nonetheless.
