Get the Look: Lily Collins on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Season 5Lily Collins has proven herself to be a total style and beauty icon, and she continually stuns with those perfect brows. I also really love that she’s been wearing dark lipstick lately, when everyone else is playing it safe with nudes and bright summery shades.

For Lily’s appearance on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’, makeup artist Molly Stern gave her a modern, edgy look.

First, she moisturized her skin with Lancome Bienfait Aqua Vital Lotion.

Then, she sparingly applied Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation to Lily’s gorgeous, porcelain complexion.

For the cheeks, Molly used YSL Crème de Blush in Silky Praline and then dusted Lancome Blush Subtil in Nectar Riche over the top.

Molly based Lily’s eyes with Shu Uemura Creamy Eyeshadow Primer in Light Pink 101, and then went to work with the Lancome Color Design Eye Brightening All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette. First she applied the pale pewter shade (far right, center) all over the lid, and then added a hint of pink with the rose shimmer shade (far left, center) on the inner lid.

Next, Molly applied the warm taupe (center) into the crease and under the lash line, and then for a final pop of brightness, she added Lancome Color Design Infinite 24H shadow in Unlimited Silver.

Then, she curled Lily’s lashes to open up the lash line and applied Lancome Show Mascara Hypnose Doll Lashes in So Black!.

Finally, Molly applied Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Lipcolor in Coffee Date all over Lily’s lips, followed by a sheer application of Lancome Color Design Sensational Effects Lipcolor in En Vogue.

Oh, and those brows? They are all Lily. When you’re genetically blessed, you’re genetically blessed.

Beauty Trend Spotting: Orange Lips at the Young Hollywood Awards

Beauty Trend Spotting Orange Lips at the Young Hollywood Awards

With all the fashion and style last night at the Young Hollywood Awards, what really caught my eye was the total moment the colour orange was having. From peach to coral to bold tangerine–it was all about shades of orange for these young beauties.

A coral-orange-colored lip not only works for Spring and Summer, but it’s suitable for Fall, too. The trend was first noticed Moschino for Spring 2013 and then again for Fall at Oscar de la Renta.

AnnaSophia Robb complemented her summery look with a bold peachy hue. It can be recreated using Yves Saint Lauren Rouge Volupté Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick in Peach Passion, followed by Dior Addict Gloss in Dèlice to give the colour a nice shine.

Anna Camp’s makeup artist Jennifer Streicher used Armani Lip Maestro in Tibetan Orange to make a striking contrast against Anna’s white and gold pantsuit, and the tangerine shade she chose is flattering on a wide range of skin tones.

Holland Roden kept her floral attire from reading to ‘sweet’ by wearing a sleek and simple ponytail and a bold, semi-matte coral. The result was the perfect edgy, au courant look for the young star. To get a similar shade, try NARS Semi-Matte Lipstick in Outsider.

Get the Looks: Rachel Bilson’s Gorgeous Red Carpet Makeup

Rachel Bilson Makeup

This week Rachel Bilson gave us two gorgeous head-to-toe looks, and here, I’ve got the breakdown of how you can get both makeup looks.

Look 1

At the LA premiere of her new movie ‘The To Do List’, Rachel made a big impact with edgy makeup by Amy Nadine.

First, Amy prepped Rachel’s skin with a few drops of tarte pure maracuja oil and then blended tarte maracuja creaseless concealer under her eyes.

Next, she applied tarte maracuja miracle foundation (in light) all over Rachel’s face, and then gently buffed tarte Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush powder foundation (in light) on top, to eliminate any shine.

She used tarte Amazonian clay matte waterproof mineral powder bronzer in park ave princess to contour Rachel’s cheeks, and then dusted tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in amused on the apples of her cheeks.

For the eyes, Amy created a twist on the classic cat-eye by making the lines thicker and more angular. First, she used tarte skinny smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in onyx and drew a line from the inner corners of the eyes all the way to the end of the brow, so that it was a little longer than the typical wing.

Then, instead of picking up the pencil, Amy traced it back toward the inner corners and went back and filled it all in, resulting in a diamond shape. Then, she lined Rachel’s lower rims, and set the liner by patting black shadow on top of it.

Next, she added individual false lashes to give Rachel’s natural lashes a boost, and finally applied two coats of tarte lights, camera, flashes statement mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

To complete the look, Amy used tarte LipSurgence lip tint in amused, blotted it down and then applied tarte LipSurgence matte lip tint in lucky. The combination of the two shades was the perfect soft lip to complement Rachel’s edgy eye.

Look 2

Rachel’s second stunning look was from the CW, CBS, and Showtime 2013 Summer TCA party.

Rachel went to the party straight from filming her show ‘Hart of Dixie’, so her makeup look was created by the show’s makeup department head, Joni Powell.

First, Joni prepped Rachel’s skin with La Prairie White Caviar Illuminating Cream to give her skin an immediate glow.

Then, she applied Kanebo Cellular Performance Cream Foundation to her skin, and finished things off with Chanel Mouche de Beauté Illuminating Powder for a flawless, radiant complexion.

On Rachel’s eyes, Joni layered Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in blue bay and tarte Amazonian clay waterproof eyeliner in navy in a thick cat eye design.

Then, she lined Rachel’s bottom waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Clash, and she finished off the eyes with Chanel’s Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Bleu.

The moody blue eye effect was complimented with a light wash of Chanel Les Tissages de Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect on Rachel’s cheeks, and her lips were given the same light pink hue with Laura Mercier’s Crème Smooth Lip Colour in 60’s Pink.
