Jessica Pare’s Makeup-No Makeup CFDA Fashion Awards Look

At first glance I assumed that Jessica Pare wasn’t wearing any lipstick when she took to the red carpet for the 2012 CFDA Awards on Tuesday evening.

Makeup artist Stephen Sollitto shares that Jessica lips were kissed with Jouer’s Lipstick in GiGi, which is a pale neutral shade.

The rest of her makeup-no makeup look included a light layer of M.A.C. C3 Studio Fix and Laura Mercier’s Dune Bronze to warm up her lids.

Ultra Eye Shadow in Sable was used in the creases with Chanel’s Eye Pencil in Gris Scintillant along the lash line.

On the top corners of the eye, Stephen used Bloom’s Eye Pencil in Black with Hourglass’ Liquid Liner in Script on the top.

The finishing touches came via Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara in Black for gorgeous rich black lashes and for the cheeks he dabbed on NARS blusher.

Diane Kruger’s Award Winning Beauty

Diane Kruger wins our Palme D’Or for looking the most fabulous throughout the 12 day Cannes Film Festival.

The model-turned-actress, who claims to have no stylist and takes only 45 minutes to get red carpet ready, made jury duty look effortless with her glamorous, yet simple look: a smoky eye, highlighted cheek bones and a natural lip.

How does she do it?

Here is Diane’s beauty routine: ‘I always wash my face with Surgras soap. Then I’ll apply Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion and follow up with Roséliane d’ Uriage cream—it’s the only cream I can use on my sensitive skin.’

‘I don’t like to wear too much makeup so I’ll often just do it myself. I learned all the tricks during my modeling years—like never use foundation all over, just use something to cover imperfections. I prefer to use cover sticks, like Secret Camouflage by Laura Mercier.’

‘I have fair skin and blonde hair so I have to keep in mind that some looks can make me seem washed out.I usually go all out on lashes and eyebrows and I love red shades so I tend to go all out on lipsticks. I’m a huge fan of the smoky eye but I also like a fresh and natural look, so it just depends on my mood.’

‘The best beauty advice I was ever given came from my mom: Less is more. I’ve always preferred the natural look.’

Beauty Trend Spotting: The Teenage Brow

As the saying goes, ‘If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em’, and the latest beauty trend in Hollywood takes its inspiration from the bushy adolescent eyebrow.

At the Gucci and Vanity Fair dinner party at the Hotel du Cap, Naomi Watts, Caroline Casiraghi, Li BingBing, Salma Hayek and Jennifer Connelly all sported fuller Eighties-style brows.

Eyebrow guru Kristie Streicher, whose clients includes Julia Roberts, Rachel Weisz and Molly Sims, says: “Fuller eyebrows are more youthful and really frame the face.”

Here are her tips for getting back the brows of your youth:

* Cheat. Grow overplucked brows back faster by applying an enhancing gel every night. RevitaBrow by Revitalash and Talika Eyebrow Lipocils will kick-start regrowth.

* Follow your own natural brow line. Everyone’s bone structure and brows are different. If you’re not sure where your eyebrows should be, run your finger along your eyebrow bone. That’s exactly where the line of your eyebrow should be.

* Draw an invisible line from the corner of your nose straight up towards your forehead to indicate where the eyebrows should start.

* Your brow’s arch should fall just outside the pupil and go all the way across the brow bone, feathering the ends outward to give the eye a lift.

* Use a good pencil, powder, or tinted brow gel to fill in sparse areas. By filling in the growing or thin areas, the eyebrow will appear more defined and complete while also making the sparse hairs underneath less noticeable. Be sure to use a pencil, powder, or gel that’s a shade or two lighter than your hair colour since it will look darker once applied. Powder works better on oily skin while pencil is usually better for more mature or drier skin.

Get Charlize Theron’s Smoldering Eyes

Charlize Theron has been hitting the red carpet hard this month on an international tour promoting her new film ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’. And, as always, she has been accompanied by her make-up artist, international beauty expert to Dior, Shane Paish.

‘There are two looks that I tend to lean towards when it comes to Charlize,’ says Paish. ‘One is the dark, smoky eye and pale lip (she looks amazing in this!) and the other is a softer, more bronzy look.’

Either way he always sticks to the basics: defined brows with contoured eyes and highlighted cheekbones.

To create a Charlize-style smoky eye, Paish first uses a flesh-coloured eyeliner on the inside of the lid to open the eye and blend into the skin tone, killing any pink or redness the inner lid may have.

Then he lines the upper and lower lash line with waterproof liner and coats the lashes with tons of Diorshow mascara.

Here are some of his favourite products he uses to create Charlize’s looks:

Skin: DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Crème-Gel Makeup and Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation.

Eyes: Dior Crayon Eyeliner – Waterproof and Diorshow Extase Mascara.

Lips: Rouge Dior Lipcolor in Tulip Pink #448 and Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss in Beige Tweed #227.

Cheeks: Diorblush in Pink in Love #889
and Diorskin Poudre Shimmer Ultra Shimmering All Over Face Powder in Amber diamond.

Cheryl Cole Shares Her Favourite L’Oreal Products In Proenza Schouler

Before stepping onto the red carpet wearing a stunning Stephane Rolland Couture gown during Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening, Cheryl Cole filmed a short video sharing her favourite L’Oreal beauty products.

They included L’Oreal’s False Lash Telescopic mascara, Elnett hairspray, L’Oreal Perfect Slim eyeliner and L’Oreal’s Glamshine.

Proving that Cannes brings out the best in her style wise, the singer wore a Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 dress.

Her vibrant panelled dress artfully spliced together with contrasting zebra-print and neon-yellow may have a touch of déjà vu about it.

That’s because Kate Bosworth wore a two-piece look from this collection with the same colour palette last year.

Wearing a striking hot-pink lip colour with her hair teased up into a ponytail, Cheryl completed her look with David Morris jewels.

Cheryl will be on the red carpet again on Tuesday as she will be attending the ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’ London premiere, which she briefly stars in.

You can buy Cheryl’s Proenza Schouler dress from Net-A-Porter.com
