Get The Look: Kim Kardashian’s Time 100 Gala Radiant Look

2015 Time 100 GalaCelebrity hairstylist Michael Silva and celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic worked with Kim Kardashian for the 2015 Time 100 Gala on Wednesday (April 21).

Hairstylist Michael Silva

Sharing his beauty inspiration, Michael said, “We decided on a sleek pony for a chic look. We wanted to allow the neckline of the dress to show and also thought a pony would complement the volume of the skirt.”

Here’s how to get the look.

Michael first prepped Kim’s wet hair using Shu Uemura Ample Angora Mousse all over. He then added some Kerastase Touche Final Serum on ends and throughout.

Blow drying her hair section by section before he flat ironed it, he then created a centre part and secured it into a low ponytail.”

Makeup Artist Mario Dedivanovic

For Kim’s makeup Mario went for a bold brow and classic smokey eye, but added some gold shadow along the lower lash line to soften the look. He mixed the two shades from the NARS Dual Intensity Blush in Jubilation and applied along the lower lash line with a wet brush to intensify the gold a bit. He filled her brows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown and set them with the Clear Brow Gel, also by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Mario then curled Kim’s lashes and applied Ardell Individual Lashes in Medium. He finished the eyes with a couple of coats of L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

To add glow to her cheeks, he used Tom Ford Blush in Love Lust along the apples of the cheeks and to highlight he used Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze and Glow along the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow.

For the lips, he applied Dainty Lip Gloss by Anastasia Beverly Hills.

To finish the look and to give the skin a healthy glow, he sprayed Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist over the makeup.

Beauty Trend Spotting: Unicorn Hair

Beauty Trend Spotting 'Unicorn' Hair

A constellation of beauties have undergone a mythical transformation, channeling their inner unicorn with a kaleidoscope of bold hair hues. These pastel princesses have left their roots behind to seek out more colourful pastures, turning the idea of ‘au naturel’ on its head with their allover shades.

Julianne Hough is one of the most recent starlets to embrace the trend, as she flaunted a new pretty-in-pink, bubblegum ’do to perfection for a simultaneously sassy, girly, and chic effect.

Hilary Duff perhaps surprised many us when she also looked to the rainbow for inspiration and debuted her mermaid locks, experimenting with teal-blue waves.

Meanwhile, Amber Rose clearly decided that blues have way more fun than blondes taking her platinum buzz cut to a vibrant electric shade.

And while Katy Perry may have just recently sheared her mane into a brunette crop, her chameleon-like tendencies have seen her rock all varieties of candy-coloured shades, including lavender-purple at the 2015 Grammy Awards.

Get The Look: Lupita Nyong’o’s Modern Glam Oscars Beauty Look

lupita2Lupita Nyong’o dazzled in pearl embellished Calvin Klein Collection dress at Sunday evening’s 2015 Oscar Awards red carpet. With such an elegant custom gown, it was only natural for Celebrity Makeup Artist Nick Barose to create an equally stunning beauty look.

While keeping the eyes soft and polished, Nick concentrated on enhancing her radiant skin and topping off the look with a stunning Old Hollywood deep red lip. The final look featured elements of classic Hollywood beauties while playing up Lupita’s best features.

Here’s how to get her glowing modern classic Hollywood look.

Well prepped skin is an essential step for this look. Nick began by blending Lancôme Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate onto Lupita’s skin and Lancôme Genifique Eye Light Pearl Eye Illuminating Youth Activating Concentrate over the under eye area. To ensure a flawless base, he primed the skin with Lancôme La Base Pro Perfecting Makeup Primer.

Once skin was fully hydrated and primed, Nick applied a neatly blended layer of Lancôme Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact in 500 (launching April 2015). For a more precise and flawless finish, Nick corrected any imperfections along the skin with a blend of Lancôme Le Duo Stick in Suede and Lancôme Le Corrector Pro Concealer Kit in 550.

Once the skin was perfected, Nick moved onto the eyes. For a more prolonged wear, Nick prepped Lupita’s lids with Lancôme Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolor Base in Sienne #5. Moving onto color, Nick created a subtle neutral look using Lancôme Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Gris Fumee and lined the both lash lines with Lancôme Artliner in Noir and Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir.

Nick began by moisturizing the lips with Kiehl’s Lip Balm. For that beautiful rich vintage color, Nick lined Lupita’s lips with Lancôme Le Lipstique Lip Coloring Stick in Sheer Chocolate and topped it off with a swipe of Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipcolor in Aubergine Velvet.

Get The Look: Emma Stone’s Coral Spring Oscars Beauty Look

Emma StoneWhether it was her beaded chartreuse Elie Saab gown or her soft coral beauty look, Emma Stone was certainly bringing some spring cheer to Sunday’s Oscars red carpet. Celebrity Makeup Artist Rachel Goodwin created a look that was built around a complementary coral hue that played on the soft green tone of Emma’s dress.

“I really wanted to let the color speak, but with a fun, unexpected twist, so I chose a beautiful, peachy-coral lip to complement it,” says Rachel, “her look is soft and ethereal, with the total feeling of spring.”

Here’s how Rachel created this spring coral look:

Like all good looks, beginning with clean fresh skin is a must. To ensure a smooth, flawless base, Rachel prepped Emma’s skin with Chanel Hyrda Beauty Micro Sérum and followed with Revlon PhotoReady Prime + Anti Shine Balm. Rachel then blended Chanel Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF15 in 10 Beige onto the skin.

To get that soft coral flush along the cheeks, Rachel applied Chanel Powder Blush in Angelique to the apples of Emma’s cheeks and softly blended it outwards.

This look was all about light playful eyes. Using a blend of tones from the Chanel Limited Edition Lumières Facettes Quadra Eye Shadow, Emma’s eyes were subtly highlighted and shaped. Rachel then lined the eyes with Chanel Écriture de Chanel Eyeliner Pen in Brun. Finally, Emma’s eyes were beautifully framed by a generous coating Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara in Black on her lashes.

For that poppy coral lip, Rachel began by defining the lips with Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Rouge Candy. She then layered REVLON Ultra HD Lipstick in HD Tulip over the liner which gave the lips the perfect spring coral shade.

Get The Look: Margot Robbie’s Fiery Beauty Look at the 2015 Oscars

87th Annual Academy Awards - ArrivalsMargot Robbie stunned in a sultry black Saint Laurent dress at Sunday’s Oscar. Her dress was beautiful, but it was Margot’s fiery beauty look that had many talking. Celebrity makeup artist Tyron Macchausen drew inspiration from vintage Hollywood starlets and created a modern and cool look that boldly complemented her gown.

Tyron kept her poppy orange-red lip as the focal point of the look while keeping the skin luminous and contoured. He wanted to create a look that made a statement that was not only powerful and chic but also event appropriate.

Here’s how to get the look.

Starting with freshly cleansed skin, Tyron primed Margot’s skin using Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer to create a smooth and flawless base for foundation. Once skin was sufficiently primed, Tyron evenly blended Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in Honey & Beige onto her skin. He then lightly applied Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Sand along the under eye area for a soft airbrush-like finish.

Once skin was set, Tyron moved ont contour. He sculpted Margot’s cheekbones with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light for a lightly contoured finish. To achieve that radiant luminous sheen, Tyron dusted Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light along the upper cheeks.

Tyron wanted a give Margot a more emphasized and pronounced brow and used a both Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Blonde and Soft Brunette to achieve that desired look. Using a blend of products in different shades gives the brows a more dimensional look.

Tyron played up Margot’s eyes by applying Hourglass 1.5 mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner to the inner lash lines while keeping the lids bare. He then generous coated her upper lashes with Hourglass Film Noir Mascara.

For that powerful lip, Tyron used two key products. Tyron created more precise lip shape with Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil in Raven and swiped an even coat of Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Raven atop that. The final result was a beautifully matte poppy orange red lip.
