Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Worst Dressed Award
I would wear this dress to work or to an interview, in fact I think I have a dress just like this. So I’m surprised Jennie Garth, with access to a lot of dresses, would pick this one.

OK she does not have the keys to Carolina Herrera’s closet like Renee Zellweger, but she can do better than this, even with her D list status.

Most Disappointing Award
Debra Messing is one of my faves, so imagine my deep disappointment to see her take to the red carpet last night in this extremely unflattering Donna Karan dress.

The steel grey colour is not so bad, but the fit is, and so is that thing on the front of her dress.

Why Debra? Why?

Most Unlikely To Add This Dress My Wish List Award
This has to be the most boring dress I have ever seen Reese Witherspoon wear.

So dull, so lifeless, so unlike Reese. I hope she’s saving better dresses for bigger occasions.

Most Uninspiring Award
Apart from the leopard print lining of her Dolce & Gabbana suit, I have no interest in what Katherine Heigl is wearing – although I do like the shoes.

For someone of her caliber, I would have expected more. Anne Hathaway looked so great in her suit this week, that this feels a bit copy-cat.

No Wow Factor Award
The colour was great, but I felt no wow factor from Chandra Wilson.

Worst Gown Award
There were a few gowns at this awards show last night, but Lisa Edelstein takes the prize for having the worst one.

Again it fails to flatter, and again I expected more.

Worst Dressed/Worst Make-Up Award
Christina Aguilera arrives in a Roberto Cavalli dress with lace inserts, and Stephen Webster jewels.

This for Christina is toning it down, but looking at her on the red carpet was like watching a multiple car crash.

Hair, crash, make-up, crash, dress, crash, posing, crash.

What a hot mess.

Worst Group Award
Danity Kane try so hard, but fail so miserably…AGAIN.

Stop Trying So Hard Award
Solange Knowles tries to be edgy. But this mish mash of colours just does not work.

Surprisingly Dull Award
Heidi Montag usually provides a talking point, as she either wears something very tight, very tiny or very colourful. On this occasion just blah, nothing but a black sequined oversized long-sleeved dress.

So not Heidi.

I only like her Gucci ‘babouska’ open toe studded booties here.

Worst Hair Award
Why does Lindsay Lohan insist on this comb-over/back combed style that really does not work for her?

Her dress has exposed zippers in strange places, but I did love that her dress complimented her YSL Tribute sandals.

Worst Pout Award
Miley Cyrus stop it already.

Wash Out Award
I really did not like the colour of this Kaufman Franco dress on Taylor Swift. I would have preferred her to wear a more colour.

Stay Out Of Paris’ Closet Award
Come on Nicky Hilton, you are so much better than this and you know it.

Worst Statement Tee Award
“Big & Fabulous”? So Toccara Jones, why are you losing so much weight?

Worst Fancy Dress Award
Every event I ask the same question.

Why oh why does Lil Mama get invited to these events?

And the question is more urgent here, because this a FASHION event, and she has neither any style nor taste.

Worst Dressed Award
The attention seeker that is Solange Knowles, wore this bold grey Armani Privé Spring 2008 dress with a feathered bolero for one reason and one reason only, to scream LOOK AT ME.

We are looking honey, and we don’t like what we see, as it screams desperation.

What Happened To Your Innocence? Award
Are you as horrified as I am looking at 15 year old Taylor Momsen channeling heroin chic?

I am hating myself for loving her dress, which she accessorizes with Burberry bangles, but the make-up and the look in her eyes turns me cold.

Most Disappointing Award
I really hurts to put Leighton Meester on this list, but I really don’t like the colour combinations on her Missoni Resort 2009 colour-block dress, nor her hairstyle.

What The…? Award
I hate to use the drag queen comparison again to reference Tyra Banks, but in this case it is very apt.

What is with the make-up and that waxed facial expression?

Most Malnourished Award
Lydia Hearst needs to eat a Happy Meal, because girlfriends BMI is definitely under 18.

The cut out only emphasis her tiny frame.

Worst Look Book Award

Fergie is head to toe in the Gucci Fall 2008 collection. The folklore inspired blouse, the belt and the shoes combo, just look like it was picked from Look Book.

I do not feel that Fergie made this her own, as it feels very contrived.

Worst Use of Colour Award
Mary J Blige is hardly ever on my worst dressed list, but on this occasion I will have to say that I really don’t like the colour wash on this blue and white Roberto Cavalli halter-neck gown.

Worst Embellishments Award
Miley Cyrus sheer silver Zuhair Murad sequined mini dress with a matching bodysuit is typically over the top.

Worst Hair/Dress Combo Award
Natasha Bedingfield’s hair is so P!nk, like 5 years ago, and the dress is incredibly unflattering.

Most Underdressed Award
I would guess that Vanessa Carlton does not have a stylist, because no self respecting stylist would allow her to leave her house wearing this grey tank dress, with knee-length tights and booties.

Most Incredibly Boring Award
On such a fashionable night, why did Ana Ortiz choose such a boring plain black dress?

Worst Theme Award
It’s always good as a group to appear united and coordinated. It was a great idea to all dress in sari’s, but it only works on the three from the left, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts and Nicole Scherzinger.

There is too much exposure for this traditional attire, but that is too be expected from PCD.

Worst Dress Award/Worst Accessory Award
Lil Mama is usually a dead cert to end up on the Worst Dressed list, because she always incorporate something wacky into her look.

We had the comforter at the MTV Music Awards, now we have this ridiculous oversized bow.

Did she make that shirt herself?

Worst Make-Up Award/Worst Hair Award
This strapless prom-esque Bradley Bayou belted dress is actually not that bad on Kim Kardashian, I am glad she did not adopt her usual hoochie style for this teen event.

Kim is on this list because of her hair and the make-up.

The foundation is a couple of shades too light for her, giving her a very Gothic look, which is not her style. Her hairline really gives away the true colour of her skin-tone.

Her hair is also very messy, and looks like it was styled in a hurry.

Needs A New Hair Stylist Award
I am so bored of Scarlett Johansson hair like this. Event after event, it is just the same old tired ‘do.

She is wearing a beautiful Matthew Williamson Beaded chiffon dress in peach with multi-coloured beads on the shoulders, which is enough detail, but she then kills the look by wearing that necklace with the very large baubles which belong on a Christmas tree.

In Desperate Need Of An Iron Award
Selena Gomez’ dress looks like it was not ironed before she left her house, therefore it just looks a total mess.

Worst At Not Maximizing Your Assets Award
Fergie has been wearing a lot of maxi dresses on the red carpet lately, and for the life of me I don’t understand why.

Fergie is only rivaled in the best legs department by Cameron Diaz, so I do not understand why she is covering then up.

I really don’t like this Etro Spring 2008 dress at all. The colours, the unflattering shape, the low slung belt.

Not a good look.

Most Boring Award
Miranda Cosgrove’s closet usually is quite dark, but I would have thought for this occasion she would have incorporated more colour into her look.

Apart from the t-bar heels, this is such a boring look.

Worst Interview Ensemble Award
Joy Lauren this is the Teen Choice Awards, you are not attending an interview at a corporate office.

Worst Dressed Female Award
Between the criss cross halter neck, the exposure of her breasts and her sour puss face, Brittny Gastineau is a holy hot mess.

Worst Dressed Male/Worst White/Worst Michael Jackson Impression Award
Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, again wearing my pet hate on the red carpet – sunglasses, looked really really bad.

Mostly because of the off white suit with the white tee. I am surprised he did not colour coordinated the crutches.

I can not believe he flew from Manchester in England to attended an event on crutches when he did not even win an award. ?!?!

Worst Woman Over 6ft Award
After seeing what is possible with Candace Parker, WNBA player Lisa Leslie could have tried harder.

Worst Couple Award
Actor Forest Whitaker and wife Keisha are not usually known as Mr & Mrs Bland, but both went with very dark colours for such a sunny day.

Keisha is wearing a black Fendi Fall 2008 dress, with a feathered hem.

I Know You Can Do Better Award
On the red carpet is were Fergie really makes some magic happen, but on this occasion, she seems very muted. The Calvin Klein dress looks great, but it does not match Fergie’s personality.

No Wonder You Did Not Walk The Red Carpet Award
Jessica Biel did not walk the red carpet, and no wonder. What she is wearing is suitable for work or a trip to the mall, but a little bland for a red carpet event.

Her peeping bra strap also loses her many points, her hair looks very greasy, she is in desperate need of some lipstick and what is that thing around her neck?

Nice Dress, Shame About The Make-Up Award
Toccara Jones plum dress is gorgeous. It really shows of her fantastic curves, but the eye make-up is enough to make Lil’ Kim say “Oh no you didn’t”.

Three-peat Award
Figure skater Michelle Kwan ends up in this category for being the 3rd person within a week to wear this Dolce & Gabbana dress.

As beautiful as the dress is, I am bored of it already.

Best At Looking Trashy Award
Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt look equally trashy, as you would expect.

Bridget’s Mandalay dress has also been worn by her fellow housemate Holly Madison.

I guess they share dresses as well as wrinkly old men. *shudders*

Best Of The Rest

Unfortunately pictures of ladies did not come through until later on today, but they are so fabulous, that they deserve to get a mention.

Diane von Furstenberg, and Joy Bryant are equally colourful in their gowns.

Joy works this turtle-neck gown well, in a way that Rachel Bilson could not pull off.

Natasha Richardson gave Beyonce a run for her money in being “pretty in pink”.

Melania Trump knows how to “bring over the top” glamour, in a way I adore. The colour, the volume, the pose, the sexy silhouette all scream “Look at me“.

Ellen Barkin is has a very sexy silhouette in her black gown with jeweled detail.

Venus Williams’ mocha taffeta dress is stunning on her, despite the fact she was dressed by André Talley.

Tamara Mellon wore a sexy black satin gown.

Janet Jackson wore a ice white Fall 2008 halter neck silk jersey gown, with silver embroidery on the halter.

Rosamund Pike appears to be the brand ambassador for Roland Mouret, as this is the third red carpet event in a row she has worn the designer.

Ivanka Trump is quite the ice princesses in her chiffon gown.

How cute is Chanel Iman? So full of personality and she has a gorgeous ruffled dress to match that personality.

Jourdan Dunn opted for a purpled feathered mini creation.

Karolina Kurkova shimmers in her gown.

The supermodels show us exactly why they have earned their titles.

Helena Christensen sparkles, Christy Turlington stands out in red, Liya Kebede has a sexy slick silhouette, and Claudia Schiffer is adorable the baby blue ruffled gown.

Bee Schaffer and Lauren Bush both opted for purple. Bee’s dress was a gorgeous strapless ombre ball gown that is full of volume and has a thunderous storm feeling to it, whilst Lauren opted for a simple one-shouldered gown.

Worst

Stephanie Seymour, Donna Karan and Liv Tyler’s dresses all speak for themselves.
