Who Wore Steven Khalil Better…Kate Richie or Jessica Mauboy?

Who Wore Steven Khalil Better Kate Richie or Jessica Mauboy

Back in April last year, Kate Richie wore a stunning midnight-blue sequined Steven Khalil gown which was made for such a glamorous occasion as the 2012 Logie Awards held in Melbourne, Australia.
She styled her gorgeous gown with an equally bedazzling clutch and stand-out jewels which didn’t upstage her frock.

Jessica Mauboy wore a beautiful red Steven Khalil gown on the red carpet for the 2nd Annual AACTA Awards in Sydney yesterday, but in the press room – where she showed off her Best Supporting Actress award – she had changed into the same gown we saw on Kate.

Both styled their hair into chic updos and carried some serious bling, but Jessica wins for me as the gown is more flattering around her chest.

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better…Jessica Chastain or Gwei Lun-Mei?

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better Jessica Chastain or Gwei Lun-Mei

I think it is safe to say that Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen is one of Jessica Chastain’s favourite designers.

She wore a red McQueen dress to the SAG Awards this weekend and another McQueen gown to the ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ premiere during Cannes Film Festival’s opening ceremony back in May; the red-haired beauty wore a beautiful light-pink Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 gown with Louis Vuitton jewels on that occasion.

At the time, I noted that the dress felt like it was missing one element. Cut to November and Gwei Lun-Mei showed us what that element was when she wore the same dress to the 49th Annual Golden Horse Awards.

It was the silver metal bow belt that was missing from this gorgeous frock.

That simple element improves the look ten-fold so Gwei Lun-Mei wins for me.

Who Wore Dolce & Gabbana Better…Huo Si Yan or Katy Perry?

WWIB Dolce & Gabbana

Huo Si Yan was the first to wear this gorgeous floral Dolce & Gabbana gown to the 2nd Beijing Film Festival held in China back in April.

Her gown was accented with a velvet bejewelled waistband to add a touch of pizzazz to the look so she didn’t go overboard with the accessories, keeping the styling of her hair and makeup minimal.

A gimmick-free Katy Perry wore the same gown back in November to the Dream Foundation’s 11th annual Celebration of Dreams.

I love the overall glamorous feel to her look, with her raven hair loose around her shoulders and those stunning emerald earrings which complement the colourful gown exquisitely.

Based on those earrings alone, Katy wins for me.

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better…Emily Blunt, Kim Marsh or Natalie Gumede?

Who Wore Alexander McQueen Better

Last night, the cream of the crop of British talent gathered at the O2 Arena in London to celebrate the 2013 Television Awards.

‘Coronation Street’ stars Kim Marsh and Natalie Gumede clearly had the same glamorous vision in mind when they selected to wear this Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 gown, which was first worn by Emily Blunt to the 2012 Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the Year Awards back in November last year.

Thankfully for Kim and Natalie, it was a case of same dress, different colour, as I’m sure they were seated in close proximity at the event.

Emily’s version not only stands out because she selected a vibrant orange colour, but her gown also has a multi-coloured crystal-accented neckline.

Kim usually makes some shocking decisions on the red carpet, so I love that she made an effort to scrub up well on this occasion.

Natalie was both stylish and warm having added a white fur stole to her look, amping up the glamour with a complementary silver sparkling clutch.

As a lover of colour, Emily wins for me, with Natalie’s old-Hollywood glamorous look coming in a close second.

Who Wore Alice + Olivia Better…Rumer Willis, Krysten Ritter or Zendaya Coleman?

Who Wore Alice + Olivia Better Rumer Willis, Krysten Ritter or Zendaya Coleman

Rumer Willis was the first to wear this Alice + Olivia ‘Bergen’ beaded dress to the amfAR Inspiration Gala in LA back in October.

The party-ready, retro fit-and-flare frock with animal-print beading and a full tulle skirt was styled with black glitter YSL ‘Tribute’ sandals and a silver clutch.

Krysten Ritter is a fellow fan of Stacey Bendet’s fun and fanciful girlie frocks so I wasn’t surprised to see her also don this look.

The ‘Don’t Trust The B**** in Apartment 23’ star wore the same dress while filming scenes for her hit show on the streets of Manhattan a few weeks later.

Pops of red via her glasses, nails and pumps gave this look an extra kick.

Zendaya Coleman gave this sassy dress a third run out at the 2012 American Music Awards mid-November.

Pink was injected into her look via her lips and nails, with spiked Louboutins and a black clutch completing her look.

Rumer doesn’t quite have that girlie vibe to pull off this look for me, so it’s down to Krysten and Zendaya.

Zendaya eventually won for me as I love the addition of the belt – which was lacking from the other two looks – her faux bob, and the sugary pink is preferred over the fierce red with this look.

Who Wore Christian Dior Better…Krysten Ritter or Delta Goodrem?

Wore Christian Dior Fall 2012Better Krysten Ritter or Delta Goodrem

Prior to the 2012 Emmy Awards, Krysten Ritter attended the 2012 Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party in West Hollywood back in September.

The actress wore a raspberry-pink Christian Dior Fall 2012 dress with a sheer skirt (revealing her black panties), which she styled with Jimmy Choo dove-grey sandals and a Jimmy Choo ‘Tube’ clutch.

I love the gothic vibe Krysten gave to this girlie look with her pale skin and dark nails.

Australian singer Delta Goodrem wore the same frock to the Melbourne Cup at Flemington Racecourse two months later.

Worn with an over-the-top Kerrie Stanley floral headpiece and ballet flats (due to a leg injury), the singer made this look feel too cutesy.

For giving this look an edge and staying true to her style, Krysten wins for me.
