Who Wore Reem Acra Better Carrie Underwood or Zhang Ziyi

Carrie Underwood attended the 46th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee wearing a Reem Acra gown from the designer’s Spring 2013 collection.

This gown is everything we would expect from Carrie: embellished, pretty and floaty.

She styled her look with a Swarovski clutch and, despite the light colour of her gown, she opted for heavy kohl-rimmed eyes.

Zhang Ziyi wore the same gown back in late December while attending the Chinese Music Charts Concert in Taipei, Taiwan.

Opting for Sergio Rossi pumps and dazzling Bulgari earrings, I much prefer her styling with a simple updo as opposed to Carrie’s curly pageant ‘do.

The updo is much more sophisticated and gives the look a cleaner finish.

WWIB Oscar de la Renta

When Allison Williams was still considered a relative new-kid-on-the-block, she attended the 2012 Emmy Awards wearing a gorgeous green Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 gown.

Her strapless gown with an architectural neckline and peplum detail was styled with Fred Leighton jewels.

Everyone’s favourite FROWer, Pace Wu, wore the same gown a few months later to the Johnnie Walker House event in Beijing, China.

She also only added statement earrings to enhance the look.

Both look gorgeous, but that extra air of confidence which is oozing from Pace Wu secures the win for me.

Who Wore Stella McCartney Better Shailene Woodley or Gemma Arterton

Shailene Woodley attended the 2012 MTV Movie Awards back in May last year rocking a Stella McCartney tuxedo jumpsuit from the designer’s Evening 2012 collection.

Sporting a fishtail plait, Shailene styled the jumpsuit, which showcases the designer’s chic approach to tailoring, with silver-and-black Stella McCartney sandals, providing the perfect accessory for the minimalistic look.

British actress Gemma Arterton wore the same jumpsuit a few months later to the 2012 British Fashion Awards.

Debuting a rich red hair colour, the host for the night also styled her look with shoes by the same designer, selecting hologram wedges from the Resort 2013 collection and an orange bracelet.

Gemma wins for me. The wedges elevate the look, giving it a more contemporary edge, plus I love the oozing confidence.

WWIB Anne or Salma

Back in July last year, Anne Hathaway wore a Stella McCartney dress to appear on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ to promote ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Her Resort 2013 black sleeveless dress with fringe detailing was styled with pretty basic black pumps, which is exactly how Salma Hayek styled the dress when she wore it back in November to the British Fashion Awards.

I don’t really like the dress to begin with, but if I had to choose I would go for Anna as I find Salma’s Boucheron necklace OTT with this fringed look.

Who Wore Pucci Better

Back in September, Olga Kurylenko attended the Venice Film Festival premiere of her latest movie, ‘To The Wonder’, wearing an Emilio Pucci baby-blue frock with sheer panelling and embroidered details from the Fall 2012 collection.

Her pretty dress was styled with nude Louboutin pumps and minimal makeup.

‘Solo Moda’ host Nieves Alvarez wore the same dress a few months later while attending the Vogue & Mario Testino December Issue launch event held at Fernán Núñez Palace in Madrid, Spain.

Opting for pops of colour via her Christian Louboutin sandals and Moschino clutch, she let herself down with a lacklustre hairstyle, so Olga and her glossy wavy tresses win for me.

Who Wore Valentino Better

Back in April last year, Alessandra Mastronardi attended the Rome premiere of ‘To Rome With Love’ with co-star Penelope Cruz.

She held her own against the red carpet A-lister, wearing a Valentino Spring 2012 powder-pink multi-layered tulle gown embroidered with neon-pink-and-black contrast lace.

A Bulgari clutch and a braided updo – inspired by the runway styling – completed her romantic look.

TV’s ‘IT’ girl, Allison Williams, wore the same gown in November to the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards.

While she kept the styling simple with black sandals, I wish she had worn her hair back in a neat bun.

Alessandra’s braided updo makes all the difference and is much preferred over Allison’s glossy tresses, so Alessandra wins for me even though I’m not crazy about her clutch with this look.
