One is a wannabee singer appearing on a talent show in the UK, the other is a singer appearing on a dancing show in the US.

Both performed wearing a Topshop spot mesh dress last month within days of each other - you can check out their performances below.

X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon was the first to wear the one-shouldered Topshop dress when she performed the Etta James classic “At Last” during week 2.

She wore her dress with Pied a Terre Atessa two-tone Mary Janes, and a black sash was tied around her waist.

10 days later Taylor Swift performed her newest single “Jump Then Fall” on ABC’s ”Dancing with the Stars” wearing the same Topshop dress.

She paired her dress with black peep-toes.

The dress is made more interesting with the sash, and the Pied a Terre two tone heels perfectly complement the dress so Stacey from Dagenham wins for me.

This dress is sold-out online, but I saw some in Topshop Oxford Circus this weekend so check your local store.

Rihanna opted for an edgy Louis Vuitton ensemble when she attended the “3rd Annual DKMS Gala” back in May.

The look included a raspberry tulip skirt, a metallic top, chunky Daisy choker, black knee-high Cancan boots, a red clutch and a spiky ring.

As you can see from the runway picture below she copied the whole look.

Australian model Lara Bingle yesterday arrived at the first anniversary party of the “Louis Vuitton Collins Street” in Melbourne, Australia.

She didn’t work the head-to-toe runway look, instead she added green suede pumps and a black Louis Vuitton Minaudiere clutch.

Firstly, I don’t like Lara choice of shoes. They are a bit safe for such a look.

Secondly, Lara is wearing such an interesting bold metallic top so I would have preferred her to pull her hair back to show it off.

Thirdly, this look suits Rihanna’s edgier style better, so she wins for me.

Back in December 2008 we got a first look at the new improved, grown up Lily Allen.

She sported shiny new hair extensions and she looked very sophisticated wearing a stunning teal chiffon fringed dress from the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2009 collection.

The singer was attending PR guru Matthew Freud’s Christmas with a stellar guest list including Guy Richie, Sir David Frost, Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, David Furnish, Guy Ritchie and Jemima Khan.

During Venice Film Festival Eva Mendes was the guest of honour at the “Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans” Party which was hosted by designer Alberta Ferretti.

Eva wore the same fringed dress with nude peep-toes.

As sexy as Eva looks, I loved Lily transformation and I think it’s the best she has ever looked so she wins for me.

Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish actress to win an Academy Award when she was handed a best supporting Oscar for her role in the Woody Allen comedy “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”.

After the ceremony - where she wore a very bridal vintage Balmain gown - she changed into a white asymmetrical Atelier Versace gown for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in LA.

Still clutching her Oscar she looked stunning, as she kept her look very simple by adding diamond earrings.

Cheryl Cole wore the same white gown on the X Factor on Saturday night.

I wanted to love Cheryl’s look, but I was very put off by her hairstyle so Penelope wins this one for me.

Evan Rachel Wood seems to be the Gucci girl of the moment.

On this occasion she wore a one shoulder mini Gucci Fall 2009 dress which has already been worn on the red carpet.

Her sparkling dress was covered in green and black striped crystals which she belted as per the runway.

She paired her mini dress with a large black cuff and black multi-strap high-heeled sandals to toughen up her gorgeous look.

Claire Danes is not much of a dare devil on the red carpet, so I’m not surprised she opted for one of the pieces from the Gucci Resort 2010 collection and not the rock chick Fall 2009 collection.

Her stripy lemon and blue dress already has me wishing for summer 2010, but her Gucci triple platform pumps had me wishing she’d picked another pair of heels to go with this summery dress.

Frida Giannini hosted this event, and like Donatella Versace in the previous post, Frida is already sporting her own Spring 2010 collection.

The Creative Director wore a simple black ensemble including skinny pants, and a black blazer with an interesting fringed detail on the shoulders.

Poppy Delevigne wore a silver Gucci Fall 2009 over-sized tunic top paired with black leggings.

This is quite a casual look, but not too casual to make her look like she shouldn’t have walked the red carpet at this event.

Mischa Barton looks good.

She keeps on smiling no matter what life throws at her.

The star worked a black sequined long-sleeved dress with plunging neckline.

Red carpet ankle boots as standard.

Uber model Iman OWNED this claret Donna Karan sequined halter neck gown when she arrived at the “2009 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala” in New York City earlier this month.

I loved everything about this look which I named BDOTW, from Iman’s matching lipstick, to her silky hair, to her glowing skin, to her jewels and her supermodel stance.

She was perfection personified and I was sure no one else would follow her in this gown.

Then last night Eva Green walked the red carpet in London to attend a screening of ‘Cracks’ during London Film Festival wearing the same dress.

ONSD…(Oh No She Didn’t)

This is like someone trying to cover a classic Michael Jackson song…it can’t be beaten. Nothing is better than the original, so don’t even try.

OK maybe I’m being over dramatic, but Eva did pick the wrong shade of lipstick for this dress.

Iman wins this by a country mile.

90210 star AnnaLynne McCord was the first to wear this Camilla & Marc Lotus Frock tulle dress to “Nylon Magazine’s 2009 TV Issue Launch Party” back in August.

She paired her LBD with orange peep toe pumps, a leather belt and a neon zippered Rebecca Minkoff bag.

“Glee” actress Lea Michele kept her ‘Lotus Frock’ very simple, only adding black pumps and opting to go sans jewelry when she walked the red carpet at the “Fox Fall Eco-Casino Party” in West Hollywood.

Ashley Tisdale wore her dress to the Los Premios MTV Award last week with an Anna Vince ‘Dita’ corset patent belt and sassy leopard Louboutin heels.

I love all of them.

AnnaLynne for adding bright accessories.

Lea for letting the dress speak for itself, and Ashley for making her look sassy with those sexy heels.

Had AnnaLynne not worn the necklace I would have voted for her, but for her simple elegance I will give this win to Lea.

When you’re that beautiful, you don’t need blinding accessories plus the dress doesn’t need a belt.

This dress is available to purchase from Shopbop and Net-A-Porter.
