Donatella Versace looked sensational wearing her own slightly modified
Atelier Versace Spring 2009 nude paillette covered gown, to the
White House Correspondents’ Association dinner nearly two weeks ago.
Her gown didn’t have the same cut-out detail as the presented gown, which Eva Herzigova wore to the Looking For Eric premiere during Cannes Film Festival.
Eva’s make-up was to heavy, plus the fuschia peep-toes don’t work for me, so Donatella wins this.

Becki Newton was the first to wear this green YSL pailette strapless harem dress, when she attended The Metropolitan Opera’s 125th Anniversary Gala.
She wore her dress with with silver YSL cage heels
Maribel Verdu was yet another Cannes re-run, as she wore the same harem dress, to premiere of her movie Tetro, with YSL criss cross satin heels.
Becki’s caged heels win this for me.

You can purchase their harem dress from My Theresa for £2,555.55/€2,990/$4,036.50.
If green is not your colour, Net-A-Porter US have this on sale, in black for $2,610. Both come with a black velvet bow belt.
Becki’s YSL cage sandals can be purchased from Browns Fashion for £1,345/€1,506.83/$2,042.52.

Despite Cannes Film Festival bringing us some of the best red carpet looks I’ve been craving for all year, we have seen many re-runs.

Korean actress Bae Doo-Na was the third celebrity to wear the strapless red satin Christian Dior Spring 2009 gown, which has a draped detail on the hip.
She wore it when she arrived at the Air Doll Premiere during Cannes Film Festival last week, with a gorgeous red and gold clutch.
Gisele Bundchen was slightly over-dress when she took to the stage at the launch of SKY HDTV in Brazil last month.
Aishwarya Rai was the first to wear this dress nearly a year ago, to the 2008 International Indian Film Academy Awards, whilst carrying a silver jeweled clutch.
Despite Gisele wearing this gown to a slighty informal event, she simply glows, and she’s wearing the least make-up.

When Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko was promoting
Quantum of Solace in Amsterdam, she wore this outstanding black bowed
Yves Saint Laurent Resort 2009 fuchsia silk gown, which she complimented with matching fuchsia earrings, with an ivory teardrop.
French actress Julie Gayet wore the very same gown in black, to the Spring Fever premiere during Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening.
As elegant as Julie’s gown is, Olga’s fuchsia version is so much more interesting, vivid and vibrant, so she wins for me.

Rosario Dawson wore this
Bottega Veneta Spring 2009 nude one-shoulder dress, with matching heels, to her LA premiere of
Seven Pounds, with co-star Will Smith, back in December.
Shu Qi gave us our first re-run of Cannes Film Festival, as she wore the same dress to the jury photocall yesterday.
I love how Rosario shorten her dress, and how she folded the detail on her shoulder, to adapt her dress into an off-the-shoulder dress, plus those aqua earrings are heavenly, so she wins for me.

Back in January Penelope Cruz was seen arriving at the
Buffalo Club Santa Monica, wearing a
L’Wren Scott Globule lace shift dress.
She wore her dress with black peep-toes, and without the red runway belt.
Rachel McAdams really turned up the style stakes, whilst out and about in New York last month. The actress looked adorable in the same gorgeous dress, with a Brian Reyes coat.
She gets extra points for teaming her dress with the red runway belt, which makes the dress more interesting, so she wins for me.

This dress is available to purchase from Net-A-Porter’s
US site for $3,495, or the
international site for £1,965/€2,411.45.

Phil Collins’ daughter, Lily Collins wore a
Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2009 black striped coral dress, before taking to her front row seat at the
Hervé Léger Fall 2009 show during
New York Fashion Week.
She kept her look simple with scraped-back hair, thick tights, and minimal jewelery.
Kristen Stewart also wore this dress, with bare legs, when she arrived to promote her new movie Adventureland.
It was great to see Kristen’s hair under control, but I feel Lily pulls off this look with more grace, as Kristen posture was so awkward, so Lily wins for me.

You can buy this dress from
Saks.com for $1,900.
