November 16th, 2009

This event has got to be one of the Best Dressed events I’ve ever seen, as everyone made a magnificent effort.

I’ve never been one to go gaga over Chloe Sevigny, but I absolutely LOVE her in this Miu Miu Spring 2010 dress.

It’s something only the likes of Chloe and Zooey Deschanel could pull off without looking like a grown woman dressing childishly.

Her bejewelled turtle neck dress is so playful and dainty, plus I love her neutral accessories which complement her dress well.

*Sighs*

Kate Beckinsale blew me away at this event.

I love the way her midnight green asymmetrical Andrew GN Spring 2010 gown appears to snake around her toned body.

The draping is magnificent, the embellished belt and shoulder detail adds texture and the look is pulled together with an elegant updo.

This is one of my favourite looks from Kate, who completed the look with a black Jenny Packham Baguette clutch.

Christina Ricci wasn’t brave enough to wear the runway version of this Prada Spring 2010 cloque baby doll dress, but she settled on a forest green modified version which she accented with a silver waist band.

Christina isn’t shy at taking risks, but baring her panties at this event wouldn’t have been quite appropriate.

Is it me or does Christina change her hair colour every time she hits the red carpet?

Jessica Alba’s also opted for a Prada Spring 2010 cloque halter dress.

Looking at the closet match to the runway, I would have preferred her to have worn the runway look as it’s far more interesting.

Red satin Prada heels and a red velvet Prada Velluto Sere clutch from the Fall 2009 collection complete this rather tame look.

It looks like what we saw on the Prada and Miu Miu Spring 2010 runway’s may not be exactly what we will see in the boutique’s.

Eva Mendes’ Miu Miu Spring 2010 black and beige dress, takes the jewel embroidered detail from the runway look to perfect her sexy sheath dress.

I adore her look, especially the hair accessory which adds a bit of pizazz to her classy updo.

The edgier runway version wouldn’t have quite worked for her.

Normally I can match a dress to a celebrity the moment I see it on the runway, which also helps me memorize runway looks.

This Marchesa Spring 2010 embroidered black tulle gown with draped sleeves looks like it was made for Shirley Manson, despite that fact that I would never have consider her for this stunning gown.

The singer gives the gown a romantic Gothic vibe I don’t believe Georgina Chapman was going for, but Shirley really works this look.

Daisy Fuentes saw the magic which Gustavo Cadile created for Catherine Zeta-Jones last week, and created it for herself wearing one of his luscious gowns.

I love the amethyst colour of her Spring 2009 halter chiffon gown, which is slightly modified from the runway as hers has jeweled straps.

This would’ve been the reason she pulled back her hair, so we could see that stunning detail.

Last week Lady GaGa and Carine Roitfeld opted for risque looks from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2010 collection, but Gwen Stefani opted for something less revealing.

The singer walked the red carpet with her husband wearing a white bustier with a black lace trim, paired with tapered pants from the same collection.

Sexy strappy sandals completed her look.

I keep looking at Zoe Saldana’s strapless Marchesa Spring 2010 tulle column gown with sequin detail and keep thinking that something is missing.

I think a waist band, either contrasting or the same colour of the gown would have given her more of a defined waist.

The actress carried a black Jenny Packham Lipstick clutch to complete her look.

I’m so thankful Carine Roitfeld removed all those OTT silver embellishments from her Balmain Spring 2009 as they were overkill.

The dress is much more appealing without all that bling, and I’m a girl who love a bit of bling.

Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre 120 thigh-high boots complete this effortless look.

Unlike most of the others on this red carpet, Kate Bosworth doesn’t really rock my world.

Her animal print Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 dress is nice enough, but she could’ve blown us away with much more interesting pieces from this collection.

I will always love how Rose McGowan always gives us va-va-voom.

Jessica Rabbit eat your heart own.

Rose’s red Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2009 gown is so sensual and divine.

Of course she adds a red lip to her look.

My only criticism is that she would have looked a hell of a lot better with her hair pulled back.

Fashionista Liz Goldwyn always likes to wear the unexpected.

Her fruity watermelon Sonia Rykiel Spring 2010 jumpsuit was paired with a dazzling pair of heels from the same collection.

Miuccia Prada makes her self designed Prada Spring 2010 dress more wearable, by adding a shirt dress under her chandelier-styled crystal embroidered dress.

Carey Mulligan was also wearing Prada, like so many others.

The Oscar hopeful donned a heavily embroidered Prada Spring 2010 dress paired with shoes with a clear heel from the same collection.

She just keeps getting it right. I predict hope she blows us away this coming Awards season.

One person who never lets me down on the red carpet is Marisa Tomei.

I’m just loving this burst of colour.

The actress wore a 1950s Jean Desses Haute Couture bubble-gum pink cocktail dress from Decades Inc.

Boucheron jewels and a Leiber purse complete this outstanding look.

This is one I will come back to drool over again and again.

Rachel Zoe opted for a one-shouldered Pucci gown

Ciara might have been wearing those fierce Christian Louboutin studded pigalle’s but the rest of her look is really disappointing.

When so many stepped outside the box, or wowed us with drama and colour Ciara’s look is very blah and uninspired.

Mr & Mrs Snoozeville were there also.

She was wearing Armani Prive.

Alberta Ferreti’s New Fragrance Launch, Madrid

Claudia Schiffer arrived at the launch of Alberta Ferretti’s new fragrance launch wearing a Alberta Ferretti colour-block dress from the designers Fall 2009 collection.

I’ve always loved the strong colour combinations from this collection, so I’m glad to see it finally on the red carpet.

Madeo Restaurant, LA

There are many rumours that Jessica Biel and Justin Timerblake have broken up.

No one will be more pleased than me, because I hope this will mean Jessica will get her sexy back.

Justin has been suppressing it for far too long.

Jessica was spotted leaving Madeo Restaurant in LA with Jennifer Garner this week wearing a black Chloe Resort 2010 blazer with sparkling lapels.

This is the most pizazz we have seen in Jessica in what feels like a decade, and she appears to be wearing make-up.

OK she’s wearing Roger Vivier flats, but she was wearing Louboutin’s to appear on Conan O’Brien’s show earlier that evening and we all know how they can pinch.

“The Blind Side” Nashville Premiere

After over accessorizing her Azzaro dress at the CMA Awards, Faith Hill kept her look simple at this premiere which she attended with her husband Tim McGraw.

The singer wore a J. Mendel Resort 2010 sand asymmetrical wrap dress with obi belt.

At first I thought she was wearing thigh-high boots, but she is actually wearing thick opaque tights with ankle boots.

Australian Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2009, Melbourne

Many of you have expressed your dislike of Louis Vuitton’s Cancan heels.

If you hated the front, just look at the back *shudders*

Delta Goodrem paired her gold boots with a beautiful peach mini dress.

What a waste of a perfectly good dress.

MALDEF’s 35th Annual Los Angeles Awards Gala, LA

Eva Longoria wore a beautiful electric blue short sleeved Ina Soltani dress with crystal stud details on the sleeve.

Her dress was paired with Christian Louboutin heels which I love.

Her look is nice enough, but that hairstyle ages her.  Ken Paves either makes her look too old, or too pageanty.

USA Today Hollywood Hero Awards Gala, LA

Ashley Judd looked fashionably chic at this event where she was honoured.

The brunette beauty shone wearing a Georges Hobeika black tiered and pleated cocktail dress paired with black peep-toes.

Molly Sims look chic in a LBD paired with Jimmy Choo heels, whilst Mandy Moore wore a polka dotted 3.1 Phillip Lim asymmetrical dress.

In Madrid this week the stars came out to celebrate the launch of the new Mango collection.

Scarlett Johansson may have been the “major” star at the event, but it was Monica Cruz who stole she show wearing a longer version of the Herve Leger Fall 2009 dress we’ve seen on Miley Cyrus and Julia Stegner.

Penelope’s kid sister paired her dazzling dress with suede Louboutin peep-toes.

Ana Locking wore a beautifully structured grey dress from her own Fall 2009 collection with both the grey tights and shoe boots they were presented with.

Scarlett Johansson continues to lose her sparkle for me.

I understand she has to promote Mango, but does she have to look like Miss Moneypenny every time?

Surely the could have dressed her in something more interesting and less secretarial.

Every time she promotes Mango it’s like groundhog day.

Dree Hemingway has to be one of the coolest chicks on the planet behind Erin Wasson.

On most those half denim-half leather pants from Mango’s Fall 2009 collection would be a total disaster, but Drew makes them look cool.

Despite that I will never consider trying this look.

Spanish actress Lola Marceli and Clara Courel arrived at this event wearing the same navy Mango sequin mini dress with a sheer mesh back.

They’re even both wearing Louboutin’s.

Let’s hope they weren’t sitting next to each other during the presentation.

Elisabeth Reyes, Maria Jose Suarez and Priscila de Gustin all wore black Mango dresses, but thankfully they were not the same.

The one that stands out is Priscila’s Mango metallic sequin one shoulder dress which she wore with thigh-high boots.

Idoia Montero and Amaia Montero also both wore black, but Amaia added a pop of pink via her heels with her Mango sequin one shoulder dress.

You can see a few images from the Mango Spring 2010 presentation below. It inspiration appears to be military meets ‘Little House on the Prairie’.

Very cute.

We were so blindly obsessed with predicting Lady GaGa and others would be the first to wear the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 armadillo heels, that we didn’t consider the MOST like person to take them from the runway to reality - Daphne Guinness.

How could we have not even considered her?

The heiress donned the impossible-to-walk-in heels when she hosted this event with Marc Jacobs last night.

Her crazy heels were paired with an aqua marine bubble skirt dress from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection.

I love that gold bejeweled neckline, but hate that silver metal belt she paired with it.   These kind of belts are very much her signature, and they are usually Alaia.

Apart from the belt, my only disappointment is that she didn’t go for one of the embellished armadillo heels.

This may seem strange but every time I look at Daphne, I think this is what Victoria Beckham will look like in about 20 years time.

Many of you have expressed how much you are O.V.E.R Balmain, or that you didn’t get the craze to begin with.

Doesn’t Selita Ebanks make you want to forgive and forget?

As always the Victoria’s Secret model does just to Balmain.

She looks outstanding in this dress, her skin is glowing and the colour is divine on her.

As much as I love this dress, I think her J.Mendel white gown from earlier in the week was a far superior look to be included in the BDOTW poll.

Cassie looks peeved.  Maybe she’s still waiting for her ridiculous hairstyle to grow out.

The singer wore a  long sleeved LBD with cut-outs on the side, paired with a black pair of Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Fall 2009 thigh-high boots.

Amber Valletta was the most glamorous at this event, giving off an elegant vibe wearing a dark jade RM by Roland Mouret Lombarde gown paired with Nicholas Kirkwood python cut-out platform heels.

Kristen Bell gave us a twirl in her Tibi Spring 2010 dress.

Many of you have wished that celebrities would not wear so many Spring 2010 looks on the red carpet just yet, but this black and white dress could just as easily be a Fall 2009 dress.

I love the print, and the low back which Kristen was only too happy to so show off  for the cameras.

Black patent Louboutin’s complete the look.

Lauren Conrad wore a very short pink dress.

The length is very unlike her, but I love it - especially the rose shimmering colour.

Her dress is paired with some killer Topshop Ritz cross over mesh sandals and a black Joie Arietta sequin blazer.

I really love this look.

I bet she is satisfaction to know viewing figures are down on “The Hills” since she left.

Lauren Bosworth unlike Heidi Montag doesn’t blow all her money on big designer labels.

The star is a huge fan of high-street clothes, which is why she is wearing a French Connection LBD.

Love the dress, not so crazy about those ankle boots.

Stephanie Pratt sparkled in a black sequined dress whilst posing in her YSL Divine heels.

These heels are very much a celebrity favourite.

In the words of Boy George.

“It’s A Miracle”.

A miracle that L’Wren Scott - Nicole’s stylist - has decided to dress her client in something other than her own collection.

On the flipside I don’t like this look at all on Nicole.

I think the length of her red strapless Prada dress is bugging me the most, followed by those Jimmy Choo kitten heels.

She normally looks so grand and statuesque, but this look doesn’t really do anything for her imo.

This may just go to prove that Kidman and Scott creations are the perfect combination.

Taylor Swift loves to sparkle, but on this occasion she wore a cute white Carmen Marc Valvo dress paired with a matching Daniel Swarovski clutch and silver Christian Louboutin heels.

I’m guessing Taylor is saving her heavily embellished dress for the main event - 2009 CMA Awards - tonight.

The teen sensation has 4 nominations including Entertainer of the Year, Best Female, Album of the Year, and a Best Music Video.

Can’t wait to see what she wears tonight.

Regular readers will know that I’m all about the drama.

The more dramatic the dress, the more I fall in love which is why I’m salivating over Rihanna’s Stéphane Rolland Spring 2009 Couture gown.

I expected Rihanna to walk red carpet wearing a Balmain Spring 2010 dress with cut-out details in the hips, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

The white Stéphane Rolland mermaid shaped gown had a pleated detail on the front which swirled around the bodice, before exploding all over the skirt.

This will be a love it or hate it dress. What say you?

Before I fell for Cate Blanchett, it was all about Catherine Zeta Jones. She was my first girl crush.

I had such admiration for her as she held her own on the red carpet amongst the Hollywood major players.

We haven’t seen much of her lately, but walking the red carpet at this event last night she proved that she hasn’t lost any of her sparkle.

CJZ looked outstanding wearing a navy blue Gustavo Cadile’s Resort 2010 lurex gown.

I loved cut, it flatters her so well. I also love how the gown shimmers.

Welcome back Mrs Jones-Douglas, we missed you.

From one ageless beauty to another.

Iman - as usual - looked OUT-Friggin-Standing.

It’s not easy to follow the gorgeous Karlie Kloss because she totally owns everything she wears on the runway.

But when you’re Iman, that doesn’t matter.

The uber model walked the red carpet wearing a pink Jason Wu Spring 2010 feathered confection that is totally delightful.

I love the neon green waistband and her matchy matchy runway platform heels.

She totally stands out as one of the best on this red carpet.

Never take a day of Iman….I BEG you.

Some of you have expressed your confusion as to why Kerry Washington receives so much praise for her red carpet choices.

Come on guys, looks at how amazing she looks wearing this Fendi Spring 2010 blush pink lace floor-length dress.

She looks simply elegant, the colour complements her skin-tone, she accessorized well with silver stunning jewels and a Christian Louboutin snake skin print clutch.

Her look is totally effortless.

What’s not to love?

The Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection still proves to be the most worn collection by celebrities this year.

Liya Kebede, joins Stella McCartney and Jessica Simpson who have both worn this coat/dress.

It’s not just celebrities who have fallen for Stella’s Resort collection.

Glamour magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive walked the red carpet with SVP & Publishing Director Bill Wackermann wearing the same Resort 2010 dress we’ve seen on Frieda Pinto.

It was no surprise that Stella McCartney was honoured at this event.

The designer was of course wearing self designed pieces which all worked well together.

Stella tends to wear a lot of black, so this pop of colour is really refreshing.

Serena Williams is getting the hand of this red carpet thing as she is radiant at this event wearing a red asymmetrical Pamella Roland gown.

I think she has looked her best yet after her stunning Gucci look a few weeks ago.

Yes she looks muscular, but there’s nothing she can do about that.

I would love to say I have finally embraced Katharine McPhee’s platinum blonde ‘do, but I continue to struggle with it.

Hair aside, I totally in love with her BODYAMR peacock blue jersey gown.

The gown shows off her figure, whilst the black patent leather trim and open back shows off Katharine’s sexy side.

The singer/actress accessorized with a black leather Perrin Paris 1893 Riva Pochette oversize clutch.

Maria Shriver looked fab wearing a black lace strapless Monique Lhuillier gown.

Amy Poehler glittered in a gold Stella McCartney cocktail dress.
