Lupita Nyong'o In J Mendel - '12 Years A Slave' Movies For Grownups Film Festival Screening

Lupita Nyong’o attended the screening of ’12 Years A Slave’ at AARP’s Movies For Grownups Film Festival 2013 held at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Saturday prior to the Governors Awards 2013.

On this occasion she wore a very sophisticated look; some might even call this an ‘Anna Wintour dress’, such is the uptown nature of the J. Mendel micro-dot tweed sleeveless boat-neck fitted dress with black inserts at the waist and a flared skirt.

However, even Anna would’ve rocked a shorter version of this look, as I wish Lupita had.

Black Christian Louboutin pumps with a gold-studded toecap accessorized her look, along with a rare clear glossy lip.

Cobie Smulders In Reed Krakoff - 'Delivery Man' LA Screening

Cobie Smulders attended the screening of her latest movie, ‘Delivery Man’, held at the Paley Center for Media in New York City on Sunday evening.

The actress wore Lena Dunham’s favourite designer, Reed Krakoff, selecting a black-and-white strapless frock from the designer’s Resort 2014 collection.

The simple combination of print and cut yields an elegant dress that’s striking yet unfussy; Cobie styled her look with Kwiat jewels, Brian Atwood black satin sandals and a black clutch.

A pop of red to the lips was the perfect finishing touch to this look.

Evan Rachel Wood In Robert Rodriguez - 'Charlie Countryman' New York Screening

Evan Rachel Wood attended the ‘Charlie Countryman’ screening in New York City on Wednesday evening.

The actress looked polished in a sleeveless black Robert Rodriguez Spring 2014 dress, which featured pockets, a double-breasted crossover front, and a conservative below-the-knee hemline.

She ditched the wide belt, as seen in the lookbook, opting to accessorize with a pair of studded Jimmy Choo ‘Maya’ pumps instead.

Natural makeup, Rona Pfeiffer stud earrings and slightly slicked hair completed the look.

Elizabeth Olsen In Altuzarra - 'Oldboy' New York Screening

Elizabeth Olsen attended the screening of ‘Oldboy’ held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City yesterday evening.

The indie actress selected an Altuzarra Spring 2014 look consisting of a metallic-thread silk jacket and a white silk draped dress with a thigh-high slit with some of the tie details seductively left undone.

It’s a complicated look, but it sits well with the jacket possibly covering up the more challenging elements of the look.

I do feel a thud at the feet with her opting to select these black Gianvito Rossi for Altuzarra black satin slingback pumps, but I guess she took the inspiration from the runway.

Iron-straight blonde tresses and a shimmering pink lip completed her look.

Menswear thursday

Let’s hear it for the boys once again.

Tinie Tempah: The British rapper, who turned 25 today, joined a host of lovely ladies and Idris Elba on the red carpet for the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awards on Tuesday. He was, of course, wearing his favourite brand Dolce & Gabbana, wearing a three-piece suit including a velvet blazer and vest which had a festive cheer to it. The look packed in plenty of his signatures: bow tie, black-frame glasses, cropped trousers and loafers.

Zachary Quinto: For the Guggenheim International Gala, the ‘Star Trek’ actor donned a Dior Homme grey wool micro-check two-button small-notch-lapel blazer styled with a white cotton button-down shirt, washed ‘Second Round’ Dior Homme denim jeans, and black leather derbies. The blazer confuses me here.

Will Forte: The handsome actor took to the red carpet in New York City last night wearing a grey Simon Spurr suit with a teal-blue tie for the ‘Nebraska’ screening at the Paris Theater.

Dan Stevens: The British actor also attended the Guggenheim International Gala, sporting a dressed-down look. The difference is his look has considerably more finesse than Zachary’s.

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture - 'Thor The Dark World' New York Screening

Following her guest appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’, Natalie Portman continued to promote her new movie ‘Thor: The Dark World’ by attending a special screening at The Marlton in New York City hosted by Dior Beauty.

The actress wore Dior again, this time selecting a look from the Fall 2012 collection – which wasn’t a gown, you’ll be surprised to learn; instead she wore a multi-coloured embroidered silk bustier styled with black wool tapered pants.

After a selection of stunning gowns, including her Best Dressed of the Week couture piece from last week, this look comes as a refreshing change.

Harry Winston jewels, black Dior pumps, and a Charlotte Olympia perspex clutch – with a fuchsia pouch which complemented her top – accessorized her look, with sleek straight locks providing the finishing touch.
