Paloma Faith In Tom Ford & Burberry Prorsum - In Concert

Paloma Faith donned two looks this weekend while performing in London and Liverpool.

London: Joined by the Guy Barker Orchestra at the Barbican on Saturday, even if you were in the cheap seats, there is no way you wouldn’t have been able to see Paloma from a distance. Between her flame-coloured updo, bright-pink lip colour and orange Tom Ford ‘Ka-Pow’ frock, I’m pretty sure you could see this brightly coloured look from Mars. I love that Paloma loves colour. For me she never disappoints. You may remember that Rita Wilson wore the black version of this frock to the London premiere of ‘Captain Phillips’ earlier this month.

Paloma Faith In Burberry Prorsum - In Concert

Liverpool: On Sunday while performing at the Philharmonic Hall, Paloma wore a Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013 black fitted creep dress with an elegant gold metal heart detail at the neckline. Even though she toned down her look, her striking hair – styled with a black fascinator – and red pout ensured that all eyes were firmly on her.

I can’t pick a favourite here, because I love the bold colourful Tom Ford equally as much as the elegant, ladylike Burberry frock. Both were styled effortlessly with plenty of Paloma pizazz.

Mariah Carey In Alexander McQueen - BET Black Girls Rock! 2013

Mariah Carey made an appearance on the BET Black Girls Rock! 2013 stage held at New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday to honour legendary singer Patti Labelle.

The singer, who has never been shy of showing off her body, wore a black crop top with an Alexander McQueen Resort 2013 black skirt featuring gold embroidered details.

You may remember that we first saw Mariah in this skirt when it was formally a dress worn on American Idol back in March last year.

I’m not sure what Mariah was thinking on this occasion, but I don’t find this flattering at all. From the neck down, it’s a no from me.

Rita Ora In Fendi - iHeartRadio LIVE

Despite posing in a Maison Martin Margiela Couture look on instagram last night, Rita Ora didn’t wear the look for her red carpet arrival or performance for iHeartRadio LIVE presented by Bloomingdale’s yesterday evening.

We also now know that she only dyed the tips of her blonde hair both pink and orange to punk up her ‘do for Fall.

Red Carpet: Wearing head-to-toe Fendi the British singer wore a striped mink-and-knit sweater, striped mink skirt and leather booties with mink detail and sculpted heel all from the Fall 2013 collection. Beads of sweat are forming on my brow just looking at her in this outfit.

Rita Ora In John Galliano - iHeartRadio LIVE

Performance: She had even more fun with her performance look donning a John Galliano Spring 2014 yellow frock with sheer inserts and laser-cut floral appliqués, styling the look with the black-and-yellow bow front wedges the dress was presented with on the runway. While I love the look, it may just be a tad too short and twee for Rita.

I know many of you do not like Rita’s style, so do you like either of these looks?

Jennifer Hudson In Peter Pilotto - 30th Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner

Jennifer Hudson performed at the 30th Annual Walter Kaitz Foundation Fundraising Dinner held at The New York Marriott Marquis in New York City yesterday evening.

A bold performance deserves a bold look, so the actress/singer donned a Peter Pilotto ‘Caio’ stretch-satin jersey dress from the Fall 2013 collection.

The artful mixed-abstract-pattern-print panels lend a vivid modern vibe to this frock, which features a slash neck, long sleeves with padded shoulders, a cut-out detail to the rear and a short pencil skirt with a fluted hem.

While I can’t say I am a fan of the hat, it does lend some charm as a performance look, with tights and black Saint Laurent ankle booties completing the look.

You may remember that Julianne Hough wore this same dress back in April.

Carey Mulligan In 10 Crosby Derek Lam - 'Another Day, Another Time Celebrating The Music Of Inside Llewyn Davis

Carey Mulligan spoke on stage before performing with Gillian Welch and Rhiannon Giddens during the one-night-only concert ‘Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating The Music Of “Inside Llewyn Davis”‘ held at The Town Hall on Sunday in New York City.

The British actress wore a 10 Crosby Derek Lam Spring 2014 black jumpsuit with a criss-cross front which was several inches too long for her.

As much as I love this jumpsuit, the affection has been nullified by the uninspiring styling.

Solange Knowles In Araks - Vampire Weekend

Solange Knowles supported the Vampire Weekend show with a 40-minute set at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center last Friday.

The singers music has been described as a mix of classic ’60s soul and commercial ’80s funk-rock, so it’s clear that likes to mix her music as much as her prints.

On this occasion she wore a Araks Fall 2013 floral print top with wave print trousers which she opted to style with simple black sandals.

Usually one to opt for a bold lip, she worked a dark orange hue on this occasion.
