Lorde In Lanvin - 2014 Billboard Music Awards

Lorde took to the stage during the 2014 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 18) in Las Vegas, Nevada to accept her Top New Artist award.

Wearing signature black along with a bold deep-berry lip, which has landed her a M.A.C. cosmetics contract, the 17-year-old singer wore an ostrich-feathered cropped jersey and satin jacket from Lanvin’s Fall 2014 collection.

The singer styled the look with wide-leg pants and a selection of Dionea Orcini rings, completing the look with slicked-back hair.

Yay or no on this avant garde look?

Solange Knowles performed onstage during day 2 of the second weekend of Coachella ‘s 2014 Music Festival held at the Empire Polo Club on Saturday (April 19) in Indio, California.

You can always count on Solange for a unique look and while you don’t initially think that there is too much unique about her Azede Jean-Pierre Spring 2014 yellow jacket with pink dots and a curve hem, shorts or her white top, consider the back.

Zhang Ziyi In Zuhair Murad Couture - 4th Beijing Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Zhang Ziyi took to the stage for the opening ceremony of the 4th Beijing International Film Festival held at China’s National Grand Theatre on Wednesday (April 16) in Beijing, China.

Changing out of her Elie Saab red carpet jumpsuit, the actress outdid herself, wearing a stunning Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture gown.

This was my favourite couture show of the season, and I’m delighted to see so many pieces making their way off the runway and onto the red carpet.

Ziyi looked radiant in her long-sleeved fully beaded gold gown featuring a long train.

Some may be suffering a tinge of disappointment that this beauty wasn’t worn on the red carpet, but I’m just grateful that I can’t see what shoes she’s wearing under this gown.

Of the two looks, which do you prefer: this glamorous, somewhat expected gown or the sleek Elie Saab jumpsuit?

Ellie Goulding In Alon Livné - MTV Movie Awards Performance

Ellie Goulding performed songs from the ‘Divergent’ soundtrack during the 2014 MTV Movie Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (April 13) in Los Angeles, California alongside electro-house DJ and producer Zedd.

Opting to go barefoot, the singer wore an Alon Livné Spring 2014 gown consisting of a gold sculptured bodice, which was perfectly in tune with the futuristic theme of the movie’s soundtrack, and a flowing white skirt slit to the hip.

Her Giles & Brother cuffs couldn’t be a more perfect way to style this part-futuristic part-boho look.

Solange Knowles In Max Mara - Coachella Music Festival Performance

Following her rather chic arrival at LAX, Solange Knowles performed onstage during day 2 of Coachella Music Festival held at the Empire Polo Club on Saturday (April 12) in Indio, California.

Forgoing prints for a bright solid colour once again, the singer wore a Max Mara Spring 2014 red-orange, three-quarter sleeve jacket with a cute romper.

Opting for simplistic styling she added grey Vince ‘Joanna’ ankle strap booties with an open heel, Third Crown jewelry and a matching red-orange lip colour.

St Vincent In Céline - 29th Annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, joined Lorde on stage for the tribute to Kurt Cobain and Nirvana’s history and legacy which saw them inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at the Barclays Center on Thursday (April 10) in New York City.

Just yesterday I was bemoaning the fact that we don’t see enough Céline on the red carpet, and then, like buses, two came along at once.

As someone commented on the post, the key to making this look work is to break down the runway styling.

St. Vincent did just that, wearing the colourful brush-stroke mini dress without the sheer pleated skirt.

While I loved the additional skirt, St. Vincent’s look packs a mighty punch as a perfect rock chick performance piece.
