Janelle Monáe In Marc Jacobs & Kate Spade New York – Good Morning America

On Monday (February 20), Janelle Monae was up bright and early for her guest appearance on Good Morning America where she helped honor Raye Montague, the first woman to become a program manager in Navy history and the first woman to design a ship using a computer.

Janelle was on top form – as we would expect – hitting all her signatures: black and white, a bright red lip; and we can now add pearl-accented hair, and a love for checkered patterns and polka dots, as this is the second time she has worn her Kate Spade New York faux fur coat.

The only thing missing here is her love for stripes, but with two patterns already going on a third would’ve been overkill.

Cesare Paciotti sandals and 50s-style cat-eye glasses completed her look.

Is there too much going on, or only Janelle could make this work?

Blake Lively In Michael Kors – Out In New York City

Putting her best street-style foot forward, Blake Lively was spotted out in New York City on Wednesday (February 15).

Shielding herself from the chill in the air, the actress bundled up in double coats including a Michael Kors Resort 2017 balmacaan and a Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2017 houndstooth wool jacquard coat.

Underneath, she wore a black pullover cropped sweater and studded trumpet skirt, also from the Pre-Fall 2017 collection.

Who knew black and white could be so vibrant?

This motley mix of patterns and textures here was playfully dynamic and I love the feminine flip of the flared skirt peeking from underneath. White Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ round out the look.

Hailey Baldwin In Vera Wang – Yeezy Fall 2017 Fashion Show

Hailey Baldwin may have not been walking the runway at the Yeezy Fall 2017 fashion show on Wednesday (February 15) in New York City, but she undoubtedly still caused many a head to turn.

Legs, legs, legs were the calling card of the model’s Vera Wang Spring 2017 look which condensed all use of fabric to above the upper thigh.

Attempting to manage the outsize nature of the sweater, she scrunched the sleeves and tucked it into the exaggerated peplum worn atop micro mini shorts.

The awkwardness could have worked by virtue of its directional edge, but it was compromised by the addition of the bedazzled choker and silver platforms that took the look into less trend-forward territory.

Selena Gomez In Coach, Proenza Schouler & Victoria Beckham – Out In New York City

Selena Gomez made her way around New York City this week promoting the upcoming Netflix show ’13 Reasons Why’, on which she is an executive producer.

Look 1: On Wednesday (February 8), Selena looked playful and fun in a floral Coach dress with a letterman-inspired bomber jacket over top. Black peep-toe Givenchy heels added a touch of sophistication to the youthful ensemble.

Look 2: Later the same day (you can see an assistant behind her carrying her jacket!), Selena changed into a black and white houndstooth-print Proenza Schouler Spring 2017 dress. Unfortunately, I’m having a much harder time with this look. There is just one too many ideas going on, and the proportions seem off–maybe one less peek-a-boo opening would help?

Look 3: Finally, Selena was seen leaving the 19th annual amfAR’s New York Gala wearing a look from Victoria Beckham’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection. The bold colour-blocking, extended sleeves and men’s shirt detailing show Selena’s love of fashion even if it’s well outside her M.O., and proves her recent commitment to a more grown-up look. This look has been worn by VB herself.

Ruby Rose In ADEAM – Out In New York City

Ruby Rose was spotted on Wednesday (February 8) making the streets of New York City her runway.

The actress wore a complete look from ADEAM’s Fall 2016 collection that boasts gray, suit-inspired pieces and plenty of interest.

In general, I love the suiting pieces of this look. Adding a structured bralette to a wide-legged, high-waisted suit pant is the perfect marriage of sexy and fierce. The third piece–a hybrid cardigan/mock-turtleneck sweater strikes me as dramatically more polarizing, but is still intriguing and unique, and totally on-par with this fashion forward look.

My only complaint is the ivory ribbons. I feel these might be intended to allude to suspenders, but for me, they simply complicate what could be a fierce ensemble.

Gabrielle Union In By Johnny & Raquel Allegra – Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Gabrielle Union was recently seen on the set of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ in Hollywood, California.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s moment with Australian brand, By Johnny, is clearly spreading, with Gabrielle also debuting an army-green frock from the Fall 2017 collection.

What could have been a relatively standard body-con sheath dress was taken to the next level by virtue of the waist-cinching knot and black piping that provided distinct flair.

Add to that the actress’s patterned Raquel Allegra coat and Stella Luna knotted heels, and this is a look that checks all the boxes on feminine, effortless, and cool-girl style.

Victoria Beckham In Victoria Beckham – Out In New York

Victoria Beckham was your BDOTW last week, as you clearly loved her embrace of the colour spectrum, and she continued her bold streak while out in New York over the past few days in advance of New York Fashion Week.

Look 1: On Monday (February 6), she modeled a Victoria Beckham red ribbed long sweater and skirt enlivened by the bright blue blouse underneath. Her favoured Celine flat-top visors as well as Victoria Beckham black half-booties completed the simple yet statement-making look.

Look 2: Making a quick change that same day, she kept the saturated shades going strong in this pumpkin-orange Victoria Beckham Pre-Fall 2017 extended-sleeve dress. While the silhouette draped away from the body, the button accents and shaping still provided a flattering awareness of form. Swapping the same style of VB shoes seen earlier for this cerulean-blue pair, she wrapped up the look with a quirky pop of colour.

Look 3: This may have been her least colourful look, seen on Tuesday (February 7), but it was no less impactful. While the palette was more muted, the rich burgundy sweater paired with Victoria Beckham wide-leg gray trousers made for chic companions—especially when accessorized with the Victoria Beckham ‘Half Moon’ bag that finished the ensemble with a crisp white spark.

Gigi Hadid In TommyxGigi – Out In New York

Gigi Hadid was spotted out in New York City on Sunday (February 5), where her enviable street style was again on display.

Wearing a TommyxGigi army-green coat from her collaboration with designer Tommy Hilfiger, the model immediately had me wanting to add this entire look to my wardrobe.

I love how she paired the sporty military-esque jacket with Frame Moto leather skinny pants, a whimsically furry Emm Kuo Majorelle bag, and Freda Salvador boots for a sexy tomboy vibe.

Gigi has again teamed up with Tommy for a Spring 2017 collection, and with a look like this, it’s not hard to see why the pair is back at it.
