Claire Julien In Balmain – ‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

Claire Julien In Balmain - 'The Bling Ring' LA Premiere

The last time we saw Claire Julien she was wearing a stunning frothy gown, which was in total contrast to the look she gave us on Tuesday evening at the Directors Guild Theater in California for ‘The Bling Ring’ LA premiere hosted by Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair.

Like her other co-stars Emma Watson and Katie Chang, she also wore a non-Louis Vuitton look, opting instead for a Balmain Pre-Fall 2013 dress.

It’s hard to appreciate this look for two reasons: the déjà vu effect – Olga Kurylenko wore a similar look with more conviction – and the fact that her glossy tresses are competing with the print and high neckline.

The only things piquing my interest here are her metallic-gold Louboutins and gold clutch.

Gwen Stefani In Balmain – ‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

Gwen Stefani also attended ‘The Bling Ring’ LA premiere, hosted by Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair at the Directors Guild Theater in California on Tuesday evening.

The singer looked uber cool and sexy wearing a Balmain Spring 2013 leather ensemble.

Her look featured a white halter crop top and high-waisted tapered pants, which she styled with Giuseppe Zanotti’s most popular sandals to tread the red carpet, as well as a black clutch and mirror-accented leather belt.

You just can’t fault this look. It’s perfection from head to toe without a hint of try hard. This is the kind of effortlessness Rita Ora tries and fails to achieve.

You may remember that Rihanna wore this same look with a different belt while performing on the German TV programme ‘Wetten, dass..?’ back in December last year.

Katie Chang In Christian Dior – ‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

It wasn’t a total Louis Vuitton fest at ‘The Bling Ring’ LA premiere, held at the Directors Guild Theater in California on Tuesday evening.

Like Emma Watson, Katie Chang also defected to another French brand, selecting a painterly printed floral frock from the Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

You may remember that during Cannes Film Festival she wore a Dior gown to ‘The Bling Ring’ premiere, so she has opted to stay loyal to the brand.

Her tri-colour dress with an asymmetrical hemline and black ribbon detailing was styled with Jimmy Choo black ankle-strap ‘Jada’ sandals and barely there makeup.

‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

The Bling Ring LA Premiere

‘The Bling Ring’ LA premiere, held at the Directors Guild Theater in California, was hosted by Louis Vuitton and Vanity Fair on Tuesday evening.

While Emma Watson didn’t wearing Louis Vuitton, many of the other attendees did.

Sofia Coppola: The director, who is very much an LV devotee, was oozing sophistication wearing an LV Pre-Fall 2013 look which featured a patterned metallic-gold bow-accented jacket, black pants and a white shirt styled with black-and-gold wedges and an LV clutch.

Haley Bennett: Of the LV crew, following Sofia, Haley was my favourite. She wore a caramel-coloured tweed LV Fall 2013 dress with nude Chantilly lace trims. Her sensual styling perfects the look with a soft wavy faux bob, hot-pink lips and complementary accessories including LV sandals, clutch and Jacquie Aiche jewels.

Chloe Sevigny: The indie actress wore a pale-pink Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall dress with a black lace panel. I’m not sure why she travelled with the oversized blazer to the event, because she ended up just dragging it on the floor behind her the whole time; at first I thought it was the train on her mullet dress. This is what happens when you wear Fall clothes during the summer months.

Emma Watson In Chanel – ‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

Emma Watson In Chanel - ‘The Bling Ring’ LA Premiere

Emma Watson was back on the red carpet again last night, this time attending the premiere of her other latest movie ‘The Bling Ring’.

The British actress wore a Chanel Fall 2013 tweed dress with a high collar and tiered skirt, which she styled with Giuseppe Zanotti heels, a black Swarovski-crystal Kiosque clutch and Graziela white wave ear cuffs.

Emma’s styling is much preferred over the runway. I love how the look is sophisticated, yet still has a youthful flair.

It looks like her printed mini dress phase is behind her. While I loved it, I’m glad to see different sides to her red carpet look.

A braided updo and matte red lip colour completed her look.

Kylie Minogue In Moschino – Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Kylie Minogue In Moschino - Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Kylie Minogue attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013 held at Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday evening.

The Australian singer/actress appears to have swapped her Dolce & Gabbana obsession with a Moschino one.

Looking very twee, Kylie wore a sweet coral Moschino Resort 2013 frock with tiered frothy ruffles, which she styled with gold peep-toes and two resin bracelets.

I love the simple styling of adding metallic heels to punch up the look.

You may remember this was previously worn by Vanessa Hudgens.

Naomi Campbell In Alexander McQueen – Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Naomi Campbell In Alexander McQueen - Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013

Naomi Campbell was also in Berkeley Square Gardens in London on Tuesday evening for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2013.

The supermodel, who is currently in town shooting her modelling reality TV show ‘The Face’, wore an Alexander McQueen black dress with gold-embellished shoulders which resembles some pieces we saw in the Resort 2011 collection.

I want to like this look, but I can’t. It doesn’t scream supermodel to me. I don’t like the pleated skirt, and the styling is very lacklustre.

I’m also bothered by the way she styled her hair with such a decorative neckline.

It’s a no from head to toe.
