Calvin Klein Spring 2015 Front Row

Calvin Klein Spring 2015 Front Row

Francisco Costa presented his Spring 2015 Calvin Klein Collection on the runway at Spring Studios during New York Fashion Week on Thursday (September 11), with Sarah Jessica Parker and Rooney Mara – who is the face of the DOWNTOWN Calvin Klein fragrance – perched in the front row.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Just as temperatures were beginning to dip in New York, SJP turned up the heat in this breathtaking Calvin Klein Resort 2015 belted trench coat. Thoroughly contemporary in style, colour, exposed zipper detailing and fabrication, her look had me drooling on impact. The only thing which could’ve pulled down this look was a cross-body bag, so thankfully she opted for a black Calvin Klein clutch instead, with additional bracelets and black pumps completing her look. This is a BDOTW-worthy look for me, but I could be blinded by the fact that she’s wearing my favourite colour, so what do you think?

Rooney Mara: The actress merged her two favourite colours, black and white, for her FROW look. I love the cosy nature of her Fall 2014 knitted sleeveless frock accented with a free-flowing sheer skirt, but you won’t be surprised that the heavy boots don’t work for me. However, the styling is perfectly in tune with what we expect from the actress. Will you be giving the ankle boots a pass?

Astrid Berges-Frisbey In Chanel – Deauville American Film Festival

Astrid Berges-Frisbey In Chanel - Deauville American Film Festival

Astrid Berges-Frisbey has made several stylish appearances on the red carpet during Deauville American Film Festival in France this week, with all of her looks courtesy of Chanel.
This comes as no surprise as the French beauty has been an ambassador of the brand for quite some time; unlike Keira Knightley, who will wear Valentino here and Simone Rocha there, Astrid stays fiercely committed to Chanel.

‘Before I Go To Sleep’ Premiere: Going for a more laidback, yet still dressy approach, the actress wore a simple white tee with a textured leather skirt, dialling the look down from the runway to make it her own, which worked in her favour. While I will mark her down for mixing her metals and carrying a shoulder bag when a clutch would’ve elevated the chicness of this look, she is always a class act on the red carpet.

‘I Origins’ Photocall: For her second look, she wore a navy and white dress which, despite the cute bow, still had a touch of schoolmarm to it. This was further compounded with the lace-up brogues and 40s updo. You may remember that fellow Chanel ambassador Keira Knightley wore this same dress back in January this year, with a lot more success methinks.

‘The November Man’ Premiere: Yesterday evening the actress dazzled in a Chanel Pre-Fall 2014 ballet-inspired black tulle gown rendered with gold star sequin embroidery throughout. Playing up the romantic mood of the look she teased her hair into a loose braid, accenting a complementary gold heart-shaped headband with Chanel pearls draped around her neck. Of the three looks this has to be my favourite as I’m swept away by the fairytale vibe, although I do find myself wanting to swap her shoes with Look 1.

Emma Stone In Chloé – ‘Magic In The Moonlight’ Paris Premiere

Emma Stone In Chloé - 'Magic In The Moonlight' Paris Premiere

Emma Stone was back on the red carpet for the ‘Magic in the Moonlight’ premiere held at UGC Cine Cite Bercy on Thursday (September 11) in Paris, France.

The actress wore a Chloe Resort 2015 black dress featuring a fringe trim around the bodice and a guipure lace skirt. Sadly, and uncharacteristically, I didn’t find myself loving this look.

Despite there being so much detail, I find the dress quite bland by Emma’s standards.

The only things that pique my interest here are her gorgeous Christian Louboutin ‘Pensamoi’ black velvet peep-toe ankle-strap sandals with red flower embellishments, as well as her marcel waves and the green eye makeup which makes her eyes pop.

Julianne Hough In Zimmermann – Extra

Julianne Hough In Zimmermann Resort - Extra

Julianne Hough was at the University CityWalk in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (September 11), where she also made an appearance on ‘Extra.’

Still embracing a summery vibe, she wore a Zimmermann Resort 2015 cutout, cold-shoulder frock featuring a colourful mix of floral prints and patterns.

It was an adorable piece, yet I wasn’t crazy about the fit of the bodice area, which simultaneously seemed too tight and too loose.

She accessorized with an on-trend, star-laced ear cuff and metallic-gold Monique Lhuillier sandals rounded out the look, alongside a fresh beauty look with her pretty pink lip and wavy bob.

Lily Aldridge In Sally LaPointe & Donna Karan – US Weekly’s Most Stylish New Yorkers of 2014 Party & Victoria’s Secret Hosts Russell James’ ‘Angel’ Book Launch

Lily Alridge In Sally LaPointe & Donna Karan - US Weekly’s Most Stylish New Yorkers of 2014 Party & Victoria's Secret Hosts Russell James' 'Angel' Book Launch

Lily Aldridge strutted out a fashion double-feature, with two looks for two events on Wednesday (September 10) in New York City. She made appearances at both Us Weekly’s Most Stylish New Yorkers of 2014 party and the Russell James “Angel” book launch, which was hosted by Victoria’s Secret.

Us Weekly: First up, the model selected a Sally LaPointe Fall 2014 black silk wool degrade, pleated bustier dress. On some, this may have been an awkward length. But she carries off the simple, structural statement beautifully, accessorizing with vampy black heels. My favourite part, though, was her fun ‘Lily’ clutch by Edie Parker, which puts some spirited attitude into the look.

Victoria’s Secret: Another party, another LBD. This time, her Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2014 sparkling, embellished gown struck a sexier chord with its sheer overlay detail. She took a similarly straightforward approach to the styling, with hardly any jewels and a kohl-rimmed eye.

Karolina Kurkova In Camilla and Marc – Victoria’s Secret Hosts Russell James’ “Angel” Book Launch

Karolina Kurkova In Camilla and Marc - Victoria's Secret Hosts Russell James' Angel Book Launch

Karolina Kurkova attended Russell James’ “Angel” book launch, hosted by Victoria’s Secret on Wednesday (September 10) in New York City.

It’s safe to say that this Camilla & Marc Resort 2015 dress was not what I was expecting this Victoria’s Secret angel to wear—and I wish she hadn’t.

I’m guessing she was going for a punk-grunge aesthetic, what with the plaid, the Jennifer Fisher choker necklace and the wet-look, stringy hair.

But the shapeless, strapless silhouette and strange black skirting did nothing to enhance this statuesque stunner’s figure. I remain perplexed at this ill-suited style selection, but will count it as an off day, whilst remembering far more striking statements such as her recent Fashion Rocks 2014 ensemble.

At least she didn’t wear black pumps. The sunny yellow heels are the only bright spot here.
