Whether we like it or not, it seems the rock chick look Taylor Momsen is forcing down our throats is here to stay for a while.
This is evident in her Teen Vogue September 2009 editorial shot by Patrick Demarchelier.
I’m surprised they didn’t soften her like they did with Miley Cyrus. Instead they played up to the moody teenager Jenny Humphrey she plays in Gossip Girl, dressing her in edgy looks and accessorizing with studded bracelets and necklaces.
My favourite look is the Gucci Fall 2009 look below, but that picture only appears in the outtakes.
In her interview Taylor shares that she’s been acting professionally for more than a decade, yet music has always been her first passion. She recorded most of her album before signing a deal with Interscope.
“I wanted to have it all done so I could say, ‘Here’s who I am, either you like it or you don’t.’” As for her writing process, she holds nothing back admitting, “My lyrics are my diary—you’re hearing every detail on my life.”
Here are some more extracts from her interview:
On relating to other teens: “I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about—it seems so petty.

Kate Winslet is very much a girls girl. I don’t think I have ever hear a bad word said against her. Everyone loves her, and what’s not to love. She is beautiful, down-to-earth and refreshing honest.
These traits make her the perfect cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar’s August 2009 issue.
On the newsstand cover – which I prefer to the subscriber cover below – she looks gorgeous wearing a Michael Kors white crepe one-shouldered dress. Inside the issue she talks about her reputation, drugs, her breasts and nudity. Here are some extracts:
On her breasts: “If people are noticing my boobs in a movie and saying they do what real boobs do, then that’s great. I’ll be 34 in October. I can’t keep getting away with it… people have seen enough of my bum and my boobs. I have to put them back.”

Back in May we saw the paparazzi pictures of Lindsay Lohan striking a pose with a Marilyn Monroe style wig for Spanish Vogue.
The editorial shot by Alix Malka has been released and the cover looks better than I expected, but that is mostly down to the magic of photoshop.
“The shoot went great,” Lindsay said. “The photographer was organized as if it were a movie, and helped get me into character, looking out onto the Hollywood Hill and dressed as Marilyn Monroe.”
In the full editorial below Lindsay wears looks from the Fall 2009 collections of Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana, plus many Thierry Mugler vintage pieces.
I don’t know about you, but I think the last picture of Lindsay in the Louis Vuitton coat looks like they superimposed her head onto someone else’s body.

Yummy mummy Rachel Weisz has a commandingly sexy look on the cover of the August 2009 edition of Harper’s Bazaar UK.
She looks stunning wearing a black velvet Giorgio Armani Fall 2009 dress with an asymmetrical neckline and a bejeweled shoulder detail.
The rest of her editorial shot by Cliff Watts is pretty amazing too. I love the Alexander McQueen studded thigh-high boots below. You’d think Rachel is too sweet and innocent to pull something like that off, but she channels her inner diva to give us some fierce looks.
Here are some extracts from her interview with Catherine Fairweather.
On her Oscar: “It’s proudly displayed on a shelf in the bathroom. The best room of the house.”

This is Emma Watson’s second August cover and I would bet there are many more to come she prepares to start promoting “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” which hits theaters on July 15.
On the cover – shot by Matthias Vriens McGarth – she wears a Giles strapless top with a raised GG logo. The rest of her edgy editorial shows that she is trying to move away from her good girl image. Below she wears a sexy Chanel top with rock chick Roberto pants. Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana.
The 19 year old British actress talks to Jenny Dickinson about film, fashion, and a brand new chapter – college.
On making the decision to go to college: “It’s going to sound dramatic, but I feel like it’s going to be my life over as I know it. My whole life has been about and then all of that’s going to shut down and I don’t know what that will be like. I go to university in September. I’ll be doing bits and bobs at Christmas, but September feels like my cut off point, when I’ll really stop Harry Potter.”

Emma Watson graces the cover of Teen Vogue August 2009 cover looking gorgeous wearing a D&G satin top and embroidered bell-shaped skirt from the Fall 2009 collection.
The young star has a lot to look forward to these days. The sixth installment of the Harry Potter films, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”, hits theaters this month.
The seventh book is being split between two films, which means the actress is currently promoting one movie, shooting another, and in pre-production on a third. “I dont think I’ve ever been this tired in my life!” she says.
I LOVE Emma’s editorial which sees her wearing BCBG Max Azria, D&G, Erin Fetherston, Burberry, Moschino Cheap & Chic and Monique Lhuillier.
Emma doesn’t seem to be desperate to grown up like a lot of Hollywood stars *coughs Miley Cyrus coughs*, but she seems to have a maturity beyond her years.
On starting college to study English Literature and art: “I probably sound like a paranoid nut, but I’m doing this because I want to be normal. I really want anonymity.”

Sienna Miller graces the cover of the July 2009 edition of Vogue US with a stunning editorial shot by Craig McDean.
I’m surprised Sienna appears in the magazine so soon after she was blasted by Vogue staff after her September 2008 issue.
Apparently Anna Wintour and her team had issues with Sienna’s toothy-ness and her terrible hair, which she refused to cut.
But all that seems to be behind them now and Sienna appears to have forgiven the outburst.
Many of you no doubt question Sienna’s talent as she generally she finds herself tabloids for her love life than critiques on her work. Whether it’s her very nasty split from Jude Law, being topless beach flings with Balthazar Getty, her public life often overshadows her acting career. So, with a role in the sure-to-be blockbuster “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” movie this summer, Sienna’s opening up about everything to Vogue magazine.
On Jude Law and his affair with the nanny: “IIt’s dangerous to bring this up. I talked about him in an interview not long ago, saying that I still love him, and he was like, ‘Please stop talking about it.’ . . . That was a very pivotal time in my life, and I’m happy saying that. It’s a private moment when you get your heart broken for the first time, and that was the absolute antithesis of private. It couldn’t have been more public! I had people on the street being like, ‘ ’Ang in there, loov!’ and all you want to do is crawl into a cave and weep for a week”
