Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The ladies of Hollywood were happy to show a little skin on the red carpet last night, with the biggest fashion trend a floor-length strapless gown.

Everyone from Beyonce to Kate Winslet wore strapless dresses which showed off their toned arms.

Those who did not to do black or white, wore nudes. It was the most worn colour on the Golden Globes red carpet last night.

The colour really complimented each actresses skin-tones, especially Demi. She is glowing.

Vanessa accessorized with a gold clutch, whereas the rest opted for nude or slightly bronze coloured clutches.

Demi Moore and Elizabeth Banks stand out for me here.

One of the stand out trends of this week, were the bolts of electric blue which we saw on the red carpet.

This is a striking colur, but not in an over-baring way. Unlike a lot of bright colours, this one compliments every skin-tone and hair colours, especially red heads like Amy Adams.

These ladies did not overdo their electric frocks. They picked silver, black and gold accessories to compliment their dresses.

I am off to watch back to back CSI on my Sky+. Back later for the Golden Globes.

There were two clear trends at last night’s Teen Choice Awards.

The girls who just wanted to have fun opted for the Mini.

Mini’s dresses were worn by the more daring like Rachel Bilson, Jessica Szohr, Blake Lively and Vanessa Hudgens, in bright colours of aqua-marine, purple and orange.

Maxi dress were worn by Sophia Bush, Hayden Panettiere, Fergie and Lauren Conrad for a more sophisticated look.

I personally prefer the mini brigade.

Jumpsuits appeared on the Spring runways in many different styles.

Stella McCartney featured 6 in her Spring collection, ranging from paisley prints, halter-necks, long sleeved, spaghetti strapped and of course the stunning floral print jumpsuit.

I was never a fan of jumpsuits. Being 5ft 11ins tall, jumpsuits have a tendency to give someone of my height unsightly camel toe, which is why I have steered clear. But with the current wave of celebrities wearing them, I have been giving the unforgiving item a second chance.

Celebrities from Angie Harmon in Stella McCartney, model Erin Wasson in Prada, Georgina Chapman in Marchesa, Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney and Emmanuelle Chriqui also in Stella McCartney have all jumped on the trend, proving how stylish this all-in-one can look.

This trend is accessible to us all at various price points. My favourite is the TopShop star jumpsuit.

TopShop Star Jumpsuit £55

DKNY Jumpsuit £155 / $225

Paul & Joe Lapaulet silk jumpsuit £355 / $405
