Eva, Debra and Christina all opted for the monochrome look.

In the California heat, it was best not to go for all black.

Long and wavy hair was another trend on the (green grass) red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards.

I prefer the darker locks of Vanessa Hudgens and Megan Fox.

Purple, Lavender, Orchid, Mulberry, Aubergine, Eggplant, Violet, Grape, Amethyst or Lilac, whatever you want to call it, Purple is the new black for this fall season.

You can find anything from shoes, to bags, to hats currently in stores.

Purple once signified royalty due to it’s high production cost, so feel regal in this seasons colour.

Celebrities have already jumped all over this trend.

And the trend is not just limited to dresses. We have recently seen more and more celebrities wearing purple shoes, from Louboutin’s to YSL tribute pumps.

You can already get this trend on the high street.

White adds a certain freshness to the red carpet.

It should not be hard to wonder why white was so popular in July, as white is in style every summer.

We saw many white dresses as shifts, maxi’s, sequins, gowns, silks, baby-dolls, ruffles, with pockets, neck plungers, crochets and strapless.

Some opted for a dash of colour like black or gold, while others jazzed up their white dresses with red, black, tan or silver shoes, sandles, wedges or platforms.

Despite London’s 4 seasons in one day weather, Yellow is still hot.

Just recently we have seen even more yellow on the red carpet, most shockingly worn by Angelina Jolie who has spent her whole life wearing black. Rihanna seems to be embracing the colour by wearing yellow in both jeans and tops, thankfully not together.

Here are some tips from fashion experts as to how you should wear yellow.

If you’ve got:

Dark Skin/Dark Hair

You can pull off pretty much every shade of yellow.

Mustard tones and golden yellows look seductive and sophisticated against dark skintones.

Brights and neons look more fresh and funky.

If you’re feeling really brave MAC has bold yellow eyeshadows which will make your features really ping.

You can pretty much get away with anything but just be careful of pale yellow – which may leave you looking washed out.

Blonde Hair

Golden hair doesn’t mean you can’t wear golden shades.

Mustard tops teamed with dark bottoms look super-classy while sunshine shades look fab with tanned skin.

Just be wary of bright shades which may clash with your hair. No-one wants to look like a banana!

Pale Skin/Red Hair

Auburn locks don’t mean you can’t wear yellow.

Pastel shades of yellow look simply stunning on alabaster pale skin.

For a more dramatic statement look for pale gold shades which work with your skintone.

Whether they are jeans or trousers, wide-legged trousers are being worn by many celebrities. Trendsetter Kate Moss first wore a pair back in September.

I have a few pairs of wide leg trousers from TopShop and Zara and I have tried many on. I prefer the trousers to jeans as wide legged jeans feel like they are smacking you against the leg every time you move.

There is something liberating about wide legged trousers especially after spending the last year wearing skinny jeans. Loose trousers don’t restrict you when you sit down, pinch when you eat too much, nor do they give you a muffin top. They make you look slimmer (because they’re much bigger than you) which is always a bonus.
