The day after the Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 presentation, I was lucky enough to see the collection up close at the resee in Paris. I went camera clicking crazy so make sure you check out all the pictures below.
Seeing the pieces up close makes the collection even more special, especially when I was told the time it takes to bring a Sarah Burton design to life – several weeks in some cases. They are also embroidered by hand.
I was most impressed with the gowns, as you can imagine. The shaved, cut organza is hand-massaged into shape, which helped make the looks pulsate on the runway.
Take a look at how amazing the blossoms are up close. Not until I attended the resee did I know that they were metal and enamel embroideries shaped into blossoms. Read more…
