Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

menswear 1

Here is a look as some of the leading men on the red carpet this week.

Tom Hardy: The actor joined Grace Dove on the red carpet for ‘The Revenant’ LA premiere wearing a Gucci Made to Order grey peak lapel one button three piece Marseille suit with a dash of bad boy charm.

John Boyega: Opting to go sans leather glove on this occasion, the British actor attended the London premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ alongside co-stars Daisy Ridley and Lupita Nyong’o wearing a sleek Burberry tuxedo with luxe velvet loafers.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The actor attended a photocall during day eight of the 12th annual Dubai International Film Festival serving up Italian refinement in Salvatore Ferragamo.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini – ‘Concussion’ New York Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini - 'Concussion' New York Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw attended the ‘Concussion’ premiere on Wednesday (December 16) in New York City.

The actress wore a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Spring 2016 dress, which has been modified from the runway to include a lining and a slightly shorter skirt.

While some might consider this a bit mute for a movie premiere, I love how the actress continues to serve up a consistent level of class and sophistication.

I don’t think many could’ve sold this to me, but Gugu does with ease and finesse.

Grace Dove In Miu Miu – ‘The Revenant’ LA Premiere

Grace Dove attended the premiere of ‘The Revenant’ on Wednesday (December 16) in Hollywood, California.

Just yesterday I was hopeful that the tide has turned for Prada/Miu Miu when it came to red carpet dressing, then… this happened.

There are creases and then there are creases; this falls into the latter category.

I really feel for Grace as the dress is gorgeous, the colour is hypnotic, the delicate details are intriguing and the styling is very much on point, but Miu Miu let her down with the cheapest fabric they could find.

You won’t even find creases this bad on a £15 Primark dress.

Gorgeous from the neck up.

Lupita Nyong’o In Proenza Schouler – ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ London Premiere

Lupita Nyong'o In Proenza Schouler - ‘Star Wars The Force Awakens’ London Premiere

Lupita Nyong’o joined Daisy Ridley for the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ at Leicester Square on Wednesday (December 16) in London, England.

Fully awakening the futuristic fashion force within her, she wore a Proenza Schouler Spring 2016 directional ensemble that was nothing short of business on the top and party on the bottom.

While the peplum-inspired, criss-cross top translated rather heavily, the sheer mesh, pearl-studded skirt lightened up the look.

I have a feeling that the galactic blue lip, silver statement earrings, and mesh hair accessory will have taken the whole look slightly into costume-y territory for many of you.

But you have to admire her willingness to push the boundaries—and the fact that she wasn’t wearing solid pumps.

Daisy Ridley In Roland Mouret – ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ London Premiere

Daisy Ridley In Roland Mouret - 'Star Wars The Force Awakens' London Premiere

Daisy Ridley attended the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ at Leicester Square on Wednesday (December 16) in London, England.

Continuing to show her chic versatility, the starlet donned a bespoke Roland Mouret asymmetrical, embellished gown that was strikingly architectural in nature, as we’d expect from the designer.

I love how she echoed the cosmic theme of the film in the utmost of style-forward sophistication, with the starry, sparkling cutout bodice delivering plenty of cosmic impact.

Even her sculptural updo is exactly how the updated Princess Leia buns should look.
