Emilia Clarke In Dolce & Gabbana – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Emilia Clarke joined Thandie Newton at the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival photocall on Tuesday (May 15) in France.

Wearing Dolce & Gabbana, the look had a playful feel with the smattering of oversized buttons and short shapes. The mood invigorated the brand’s signature glamour.

Some might wish for longer trousers to elongate the lines of the legs, but I’m not bothered as the cropped length kept things fresh.

Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps add to the fun feeling.

Thandie Newton In Valentino – ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Thandie Newton captured the breezy spirit of the Cannes Film Festival at the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ photocall on Tuesday (May 15).

The majority were delighted by her Richard Quinn floral confection at the Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards and I’m hoping this Valentino Fall 2018 look is as well received.

It’s the sort of ensemble that demonstrates how the daywear at the festival can be just as striking as the dramatic evening gowns.

With its vivid print and soft shapes, it has a carefree glamorous sentiment and her styling played perfectly into it.

Laura Harrier In Louis Vuitton – ‘Blackkklansman’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Following the premiere, Laura Harrier was back on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for ‘Blackkklansman’ this afternoon (May 15).

The young actress was wearing Louis Vuitton once again, selecting a look from the Fall 2018 collection.

At first glance this dress may seem minimal, but the strap which defines the drop waist plus collar embellishments, fills the fine detail quota.

The shoes perfectly tie in with this story.

Marion Cotillard In Adam Selman – ‘Angel Face (Gueule D’Ange)’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Following the Chopard Secret Night party, Marion Cotillard was back on the red carpet this morning (May 12) for the Cannes Film Festival photocall for ‘Angel Face (Gueule D’Ange)’.

I love how this Adam Selman Spring 2018 gingham showcases the label’s retro-inspired aesthetic, and embodies the idea of easy dressing for the playful and sexy woman.

The two piece look – which consists of an open-back belted romper and a maxi skirt – feels so fresh and breezy; perfect for a photocall on the French Riviera.

I think some might take issue with the red sandals, but I love the additional pop of colour her which enhances the retro vibe.

‘Farenheit 451’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

The cast of ‘Farenheit 451’ started this morning (May 12) with a photocall during Cannes Film Festival.

Michael Shannon: Usually a smooth operator, the actor kept things super laidback in a punchy print shirt and jeans combo.

Sofia Boutella: I love the shimmering metallic tulle fabric of her Emilia Wickstead Fall 2018 dress, which looks to be inspired by a twilight sky, was so pretty for a day time event. Christian Louboutin Zerlita bow pumps completed her look.

Michael B. Jordan: You wanted Michael to wear something sheer, but he was unable to oblige on this occasion. His smart casual look has me excited for his red carpet look this evening.

Maria Thelma Smaradottir in Christian Dior – ‘Arctic’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Maria Thelma Smaradottir embraced pattern at the ‘Arctic’ Cannes Film Festival photocall on Thursday (May 10) in Cannes.

The actress’s Christian Dior Fall 2018 multicolour knit dress is a vivid array of hues and patterns, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming in the slightest thanks to the subdued colour palette and scale of the design.

She cinched the look with a ‘Diorquake’ belt. A number of you have commented that celebs who have worn this belt have worn it the wrong way around. Maria got it right.

The boldness of the belt is echoed in her black platforms sandals.

Irina Starshenbaum In Chanel – ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Irina Starshenbaum struck a pose at the ‘Leto’ Cannes Film Festival photocall on Thursday (May 10) in France.

Her Chanel mini was a textural delight with its eyelash fabric.

Many enjoyed the sweet, effortless statement she made in the designer at the film’s premiere, so I’m curious to see how this look will go down. With its baby blue hue and delicate wispy texture, it carries a similar mood, but the short silhouette keeps things fresh.

The black pumps are a classic choice, but the colour feels rather stark against the dress and it brings down the whimsical mood.
