Farah Angsana was the first of 3 shows I attended today. It was a 9am start, but I was glad to be awoken by this Fall 2009 collection of stunning pieces.

I expected to see fabulous gowns and couture designs, but I was absolutely blown away by what I saw.

The tailoring and attention to detail was exquisite, from the embroidery to the embellishments, which I really appreciated seeing the show live.

The colour palette consisted of golds, bright reds, purples and silvery blues.

I loved the poncho’s which were embellished with either with feathers or intricate silver embroidery. The collars were also decorated with either feathered or fur.

My pictures of the Swarovski embellished bodices really do not do Farah’s work justice, as they were spectacular. That red gown has to make the red carpet.

I hope Kellie Pickler, who was in the front row, was paying particular attention to the red carpet gowns. Everyone was more breath-taking the last. My favourite was the black, gold and red strapless gown, with a skirt that was inspired by dragon scales.

This was a truly magnificent collection, and I can’t wait to see them on the red carpet.

I will guess the Kellie Pickler has been reading my blog, because the ghostly make-up has disappeared, and today she was looking more like her usual beautiful self.

She wore a stunning navy blue strapless dress, with dual button detailing. She wore her dress with YSL Trib Two’s.

I also attended the Carolina Herrera show (♥♥) and the Carlos Miele show (♥♥) which I will blog about when I get back tonight.

This is one collection I really wish I got to see live.

Alexander Wang’s Fall 2009 collection was all about rock chick chic.

Every piece was oozing an overtly sexy vibe, with leather, cut-out pieces, mini skirts, and figure-hugging dresses. Wang also presented skinny pants, tailored jackets, leggings and Axel Rose style biker shorts.

Apart from leather, tweed was presented. You wouldn’t associate tweed with rock n’ roll chic, but it worked.

Sarah Jessica Parker was the star of the front row, and got a seat next to Anna Wintour.

Sarah wore head to toe black, with her trademark wavy hair. I wonder if she was picking out pieces for Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City 2.

Erin Wasson is so friggin’ cool. I love this ‘I just threw this on’ look.

Roisin Murphy wore a grey sweater and leather skinny pants, from Alexander Wang’s Spring 2009 collection. I’m surprised Roisin did not wear some of the more edgier pieces.

Tonight – if you are in US or last night if you are in Europe, I attended the unveiling of Matthew Williamson new store located in the trendy Meatpacking district.

The store’s design retains the vintage inspired feel associated with the London Bruton Street store.

When you walked into the store and past the mannequins in the windows, and hanging from the ceiling you come upon a runway-like walk way, which had alcoves on each side housed with accessories such as shoes and handbags. As you made your way to the back of the store the collection was presented on a large circular rail in the middle of the room with clothes also along the back of the wall.

Walking into this room I instantly thought of it being the idea location one of Austin Powers swinging 60s parties, as it oozed that kind of sexy 60s vibe.

Many celebrities were there to support Matthew Williamson including Lindsay Lohan wearing Pre-Fall 2009, Katharine McPhee in Resort 2009, Lily Collins in Spring 2009, Joy Bryant in Resort 2009, Rachel Zoe in Spring 2009, and Heidi Klum, who I missed whilst getting another glass of champagne.

Rachel had a very comical moment when she entered the store. The Spring 2009 gown she was wearing, was the same gown as the mannequin in the store window. She was graceful enough to laugh off incident. I bet she was happy it wasn’t another party goer.

Lindsay was very interesting to watch, she loved posing for pictures, and in real life she is even smaller than you would think. Had there been any canapés, I would have bee tempted to force feed her.

Her sequinned dress from the Spring 2009 collection was stunning, even though she was tiny in it.

All these pictures were taken by me, but I will upload the professional ones once they are added to picture agencies, so you can see the full ensembles.

At the Hervé Léger by Max Azria Fall 2009, I witness models falling on the runway. As funny as it may appear, it really is an uncomfortable experience. The whole of the Promenade took a sharp intake of breathe, as the models fell, then got up and continued to walk the runway.

You would think that bandage dresses don’t have anywhere else to go, but Max Azria had many ideas.

Most of the bandage dresses were updated with square shoulders, which gave them an 80s feel, and made me think of the Balmain Spring 2009 collection.

The rosette details of the previous Fall collection, were replace with leather and metallic panel detailing.

The plunging dress was the style most used, but there were also halters, criss cross halters, square neck and one-shouldered dresses.

My favourites were the black eyelash fringed dress, purely because of the way it shimmered down the runway, and the silver embellished dress with the square shoulders.

It was way too far away from the celebs to see them up close, as the place was packed, but Lucy Liu was very much in the spotlight. The camera crews went crazy for the A list star, which is not surprising as she looked hot in a black Herve Leger bandage dress.

Sophia Bush, The Queen of Fall 2008 Fashion Week was absent from the Spring 2009 shows, so I was happy to see her in what was her second show of the week.

She looked gorgeous wearing a striped grey Herve Leger dress.

Michelle Trachtenberg carried a big large red clutch, with her grey tie-dyed Herve Leger dress.

January Jones opted for a nice brightly coloured Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2009 mini dress, with a black leather jacket.

Jessica Stroup opted for a lime green Herve Leger dress, with a keyhole detail.

Lily Collins wore a coral and black striped Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2009 dress.

Of course Joy Bryant was there wearing a black Herve Leger dress.

I was lucky enough to attend Georges Chakra’s first RTW presention, and I was instantly struck by how the couturier’s Fall 2009 collection, had a couture feel to it, as the attention to detail was impeccable.

Carrie Underwood’s favourite designer presented plenty of party pieces, ranging from mini dresses, to strapless dress. A grey dress was presented with origami folds was exquisite, as was the strapless white dress, with a silver beaded skirt.

The gowns were also breath-taking, with especially the gold lame pleated gown, which had a magnificent train that billowed as the model walked down the runway. I wouldn’t be surprised if Carrie ticks this as a possible in her look book.

There were lots of liquidly and metallic pieces, which gave the collection a futuristic, space-age feel.

In the front row, I saw Jennifer Love-Hewitt being blinded by the photographers eager to take her picture. She look gorgeous this Valentine’s day, wearing a sexy L’Wren Scott figure hugging dress, which she wore with YSL Trib Two’s.

Kellie Pickler, so far a front row favourite – surprisingly – either needs to fire her make-up person, or hire one immediately and stop doing it herself.

After dressing Michelle Obama on inauguration night, Jason Wu’s star has risen considerably, which is why his Fall 2009 collection was at over capacity yesterday.

I didn’t stand a chance of attending this show, which I am informed wasn’t at capacity for the Spring 2009 show.

Everyone was eager to see if Jason would create more magic, and he did.

His usual uptown clients were catered for with sleek, tailored silhouettes for day time, some with black embroidery details. For the evening he presented fairy tale gowns of tulle and chiffon with silver beading and embroidery.

He also presented a gorgeous tiered sky blue number, with vertical Art Deco-style beading, and a dark navy blue heavily embellished gown.

The main accessory was a large silver statement fan necklace, which was presented on both day time and evening pieces.

The colour palette consisted of chartreuse, teal, fuchsia and the current red carpet favourite – electric blue.

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all.

Unfortunately my plane did not land on time yesterday, so I was unable to attend the Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection 2009, which is a huge shame, because it looked like a lot of fun.

Celebrities including Susan Lucci, Katie Couric and Hilary Duff, who walked down the runway in sexy red dresses. The event has been staged since 2002 to help highlight awareness of heart disease, which has been acknowledged as the number one killer of women in America.
